    MUMBAI: After the success of Bigg Boss season 13, Colors is all set to replace it with Khatron Ke Khiladi season 10 from 22 February at 9 pm. Last year the show garnered around 222 million viewership throughout its journey on the channel and it was the biggest reality show in FY 19 for Colors. 

    "The DNA of the Khatron Ke Khiladi is stunts; its action, its thrill. It's about how one overcomes their fear. But the fact that we're taking it to Bulgaria has changed the scenario completely. We had our own challenges in Bulgaria and to overcome those challenges we innovate. And that's what brings Khatron Ke Khiladi to its newness. The USP of the Khatron Ke Khiladi will be Bulgaria and unimaginable stunts that viewers will see and truly some of them will keep you on the edge of your seat," says Viacom18 hindi mass entertainment and kids network head Nina Elavia Jaipuria. 

    And that's what entertainment is all about. The kind of emotion it can evoke is reality TV. "We have invested a lot in Khatron Ke Khiladi, it's an expensive show. When the viewers will see the show they will realise that stunts and Rohit Shetty are the USP of the show," says Jaipuria. 

    She adds, "In FY 2019, Khatron Ke Khiladi was leading and it was the biggest nonfiction show of FY 19. On an average, I think on a weekly average it had about 9 million viewership. But overall, the entire journey had 222 million viewers. That's huge and that's the biggest non-fiction show has had in a long time. We want to make sure that all the viewers who were watching Bigg Boss season 13 watch Khatron Ke Khiladi too."

    The channel has utilised the platform of Bigg Boss season 13 to promote the upcoming season of Khatron Ke Khiladi. "We got integrations going into Big Boss and Filmfare Awards to talk about it. Of course, we have a lot of outdoor will have some radio buzz, and we have a very solid digital strategy because stunts can be done and lend themselves well to digital."

    For the first time, the channel will use social media platform TikTok, along with Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. The channel is going to take the daring challenge with the contestants through Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Jaipuria informs, "We will get first the contestants to take the daring challenge and then we'll ask viewers to take the daring challenge. We've done some very peculiar content, which is specially made for viewers online, where we have actually shot two sides of the same contestant. So the contest for example Karishma Tanna – how she wants to face the fear but the other side is about being scared. A lot of social media engagement will be happening throughout show. We wish to trend as much as Bigg Boss worldwide," she added.

    Rohit Shetty returns as the host with the theme of the season Darr Ki University. Enrolling in the university and turning the scintillating country of Bulgaria into a battleground, will be Adaa Khan, Karishma Tanna, Karan Patel, Shivin Narang, Tejashwi Prakash, Balraj Syal, Amruta Khanvilkar, Rani Chatterjee, RJ Malishka and Dharmesh Yelande. Every stunt, every challenge will count when Darr Lega Class, Dega traas and the report card will determine the fate of the contestants in the game.

    For the first time, contestants will be seen performing stunts on a moving train which has been designed by Shetty. Each episode will have a mix of thrilling acts including an aerial stunt performed on a chopper.  Along with performing adrenaline rushing stunts, the contestants will also be seen having their share of fun.  Be it Karan Patel and Amruta Khanvilkar breaking into Chaiyya Chaiyya atop a moving train, Tejasswi trying to talk to a ravenous crocodile or Karishma Tanna falling in love with a Gorilla, there will never be a dull moment on India’s largest stunt-based reality show.

Produced by Shashi Sumeet Productions, the show is set to premiere on 11 February 2020 and air every Monday to Friday at 8.30 pm, only on Colors.

As he pledges to fight against the age-old norms and help Bonita find her identity, he unfolds a pathway for her to become a Barrister Babu. While Bondita asks some thought-provoking questions, Anirudh through her journey tries to fight them. Will Bondita and Anirudh be able to fight against this broken culture and mark the beginning of a revolution?

    Ayodhya: Ramayan, the revered classic, forms the bedrock of Hindu mythology and its teachings are deeply engraved in our cultural history. A tale of Lord Ram and his beloved wife Goddess Sita is rendered eternal and it encourages us to follow the path of righteousness. Narrating the virtues of Ram-Sita through the lens of their sons Luv-Kush in an artistic rendition of the sacred scripture is COLORS’ magnum opus Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush powered by India Gate Basmati Rice. The show will unearth Luv and Kush’s quest to know their father’s identity which leads them to discover the power of his name and reunite their parents for the greater good. Produced by Swastik Productions, the show will premiere on 5th August 2019 and air every Monday to Friday at 8.30 pm on COLORS.

    The show dates to the magical era when Lord Ram-Sita return to Ayodhya after their fourteen years of exile while Sita is an expectant mother. Celebrations galore and they are welcomed amidst festivities, but the happiness is short-lived. Lord Ram is met with a wave of despair as he finds Ayodhya vasisquestioning Sita's morals and purity post her return from Lanka. While this baffles Ram, Sita senses his dilemma.     Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush is backed by high production value and the costumes, jewelry, and sets have been designed in a way that it complements the grandeur of the era.  Shiba Priya Sen from Kolkata has added elements from Kumartuli to Ram and Sita’s apparels and accessories. From special cuts of Banarasi saree, georgettes, and silk to dried seed and flowers of Santi Niketan, their look boasts of richness. Udit Narayan has sung the title track while the Halidpur brothers, Sangeet and Siddharth have composed it. Ace choreographer Rekha Chinni Prakash has aesthetically choreographed the opening dance sequence for the show.

    MUMBAI: Nickelodeon – India’s leading kids’ entertainment franchise is back with their global pro-socio initiative “Together For Good” which this year will raise awareness about the impact of ‘stress’ on children. The International Journal of Psychology and Behavioural Sciences has cited that nearly two-thirds (63.5%) of the students report of stress are due to academic pressure with no significant differences across gender, age or grade. Understanding the parameters that cause stress amongst children Nickelodeon in association with Early Childhood Association is all set to address the issue of constant comparison by parents, academic stress and peer pressure with its campaign, ‘Pressure Ko Bolo Bye’.

    Leveraging the strength of the entire Nickelodeon franchise and using the power of the Nicktoons, the campaign is brought to life with light hearted, child-friendly yet impactful on-air promos, with the message #PressureKoBoloBye’. This edition of Together For Good sets out to address various parameters that are a cause of ‘stress’ amongst children and simple steps to identify and act towards the same.

    As a part of the campaign nickelodeon is creating a two-fold module co-produced by Early Childhood Association, with an aim to reach over 350 educational institutes comprising of private and government schools, NGO’s and Anganwadi’s across the nation, to help them battle the challenges. Featuring Abrar Qazi, Shruti Sharma and Sonali Jayanti Naik, Gathbandhan produced by Jay Mehtaa Productions premiers on 15th January 2019 and will air every Monday to Friday at 9:00 p.m.

    Gathbandhan explores the extraordinary love story of a Gujarat ni chokri Dhanak (Played by Shruti Sharma), an honest, upright individual, who has the zeal to become an IPS Officer and a gangster, Marathi Mulga Raghu (Played by Abrar Qazi), Son of Savitri Bai Jadhav, a Bollywood fan with no aim. Under the watchful eye of his mother Savitri (Played by Sonali Jayanti Naik), Raghu takes over the family business of extortion; unknown to Dhanak; a fearless woman who holds ethical and moral values supreme.     Speaking about her television debut and playing the role of Dhanak, Shruti Sharma said, “I am honored to make my debut with COLORS and portraying a strong character of an IPS Officer with defined principals. Dhanak is an idealistic young girl, who sees the world as black and white and is determined to bring change in society. Her life  changes when she learns that her husband Raghu is anything but moral. What happens next, is full of dramatic twists and turns and I hope viewers will enjoy the ride.”

    Commenting on his role, actor Abrar Qazi who essays the role of Raghu, said, “Essaying the role of a gangster might seem easy to eyes, but turned out to be really challenging. The body language, the dialect, the clothes, it all takes a lot of time to get comfortable with. I am pleased to be associated with COLORS for giving me my debut character which so challenging and unique. I can’t wait to see viewers reaction, when they see this unique love story.”

    Adding further, Sonali Naik who plays the role of Savitri, said, “I am playing the role of the lady don of ‘Dashrath chawl’, who is looking for a bahu who will take forward her family’s legacy of money extortion A doting mother, she cannot fathom the idea that her son may give up the life she envisioned for him by marrying a woman like Dhanak. My character will add a flavor of fun and spice to the show and I am sure viewers will enjoy the nuances in Savitri’s characters.”

    Gathbandhan revolves around three stark opposite characters, each with their own set of morals and beliefs who come together in the most unusual circumstances. While Dombivali ka Don Raghu has the city at his feet, it is up to Gujarati IPS Dhanak to make Raghu walk the path of righteousness as his better-half. In this conflict of crime vs kanoon, will love win? With tremendous performances from actors Akrar Qazi, Shruti Sharma and Sonali Jayanti Naik, Gathbandhan promises to be wholesome entertainer with an intriguing love story at its core.

    The grand launch of the show witnessed a big fat wedding of two these two contrasting personalities, destined to unite, Raghu and Dhanak. Gracing the ‘Anokha Gathbandhan’ were the daredevils khiladis of Khatron Ke Khiladi – Avika Gor and Sreesanth along with Shilpa Sakhlani from Vish Ya Amrit Sitaara – Ek Vishkanya Ki Kahaani. Thousands of people came to bless the couple and celebrate their D-day as  Raghu and Dhanak performed every wedding ritual with utmost bliss.

Delving into the realms of the unknown is COLORS’ latest supernatural offering, Tantrawhich explores the world of black magic and its evil effects. The show is an intriguing tale of incantation, mysticism and supernatural elements wrapped in a family drama.

    ‘Tantra’tells the tale of a family who has fallen prey to the clutches of incantation. The Khanna’s are an affluent family who move into their dream home but become unfortunate victims of the gruesome practice of Tantra. The antagonist is the House itself whose eerie effects makes the place unliveable and a nightmare for its inhabitants.

    Actor Sargun Kaur essays the female protagonist Niyati Khanna, while actor Gautam Vig plays her love interest, Akshat. The supernatural thriller marks the comeback of celebrated television actors Manish Goel and Juhi Parmarwho will be seen as Prithvi and Sumati Khanna. While Niyati’s family relies on her to safeguard their lives, it is Akshat who is Niyati’s pillar of strength. It is my first show with COLORS’ and the concept is pathbreaking, I am sure it will entertain the audience and keep them glued to the television”. 

    Juhi Parmar, who plays Sumati Khanna, said, “I am happy to be back with COLORS and Swastik Productions once again. It is like coming back home for me. But this role is completely different from my last stint. My character Sumati is a god loving woman and a hands-on mother. I am looking forward to this show because of its unique concept and eagerly awaiting audience feedback on the same”.
