    NIIT launches online digital marketing course

    MUMBAI: NIIT, a global leader in skills and talent development, today announced the launch of their first interactive live, online course in digital marketing. The program is offered in association with Digital Marketing Institute (Ireland) and will be available online for the first time. It is the 37 batch of the Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing (PDDM) – a program uniquely designed for current and aspiring marketing professionals, to help them transform into digital marketers of the future. NIIT has already trained more than 1700 students in digital marketing.

    MUMBAI: Scarecrow Communications has appointed IrajFraz as head of creative operations of its Delhi office. Fraz has vast experience in the advertising industry and has worked with agencies like Leo Burnett, JWT and Contract amongst others.

    Fraz started his career at Leo Burnett in 2002. From there, he moved on to McCann, Mumbai and in 2006, shifted to Contract Delhi to work on brands like Dominos, NIIT &Dabur. Post this stint, he spent about five years as creative director at JWT Delhi.

     

    His next stop was Y&R, Dubai, where he worked on Coke, Emaar properties and Mashreq Bank, handling projects not just for the UAE, but often for the whole of MENA region, and sometimes, even for Europe and South East Asia.

  • JWT elevates Mohit Hira to head digital ops

    Mumbai: JWT India has elevated Mohit Hira to head of its digital operations and he will be responsible for managing and growing JWT’s digital offering to clients across all markets in addition to his current responsibilities on Airtel.

    He had joined JWT India last year as SVP and regional business director in Delhi.

    Meanwhile, the current digital head at JWT India Max Hegerman is moving on to pursue other opportunities.

    “As the new head of JWT Digital, he brings in long-term brand-building with rich digital experience, both online and offline. This, along with the ability to tap a rich eco-system of partners, like Hungama Digital Services and a global network that will bring the best of class for a client’s digital ambitions gives JWT Digital a unique advantage,” the company said.

    Hira has over 26 years of experience in advertising, marketing, print and digital media. He had joined JWT from NIIT, where he was the President of the B2C global online learning business that he started. He was also the chief marketing officer for their retail individual training businesses and the NIIT University.

    Lalit Bhagia quits Star TV to turn entrepreneur

    MUMBAI: Lalit Bhagia has decided to quit from his post of vice president and head-digital (internet & mobile) at Star TV after a stint of almost three years.

    Bhagia is serving his notice period and will be with the company till month end.

    He is quitting Star India to pursue his interest of being an entrepreneur and launching a website.

    Prior to joining Star TV in 2010, he was with Digitas for around eight years. He has also worked Times Internet Limited (TIL) and NIIT.

  • Rediffusion-Y&R gets Rajesh Matthew to head Bengaluru

    MUMBAI: Rediffusion Y&R Bengaluru has got a new head in Rajesh P Mathew.

    Mathew comes in from Dentsu Communications where he was senior vice president in Mumbai. He will report to Rediffusion Y&R COO Amitava Sinha.

    Mathew has more than 17 years of experience in advertising, having worked in markets across Bengaluru, Chennai and Kerala at Ogilvy, Contract, Lowe, Saatchi & Saatchi as well as Concept, Dubai. In the course of his career, he has gained exposure to account management, direct marketing, and general management as office head at Contract, Chennai, and then as vice president and business head at Ogilvy, Mumbai.

    He has serviced brands across categories including Mitsubishi Motors, Star TV network, Sun DTH-HD, NIIT, Infosys, St-Gobain, Muthoot, Cuticura, and Citibank.

    Sinha said, “We are happy to have someone of Rajesh’s stature and experience to lead our Bangalore operations. Apart from being a trusted advisor to our existing clients, Rajesh’s mandate will be to make Rediffusion Bangalore a destination agency for both clients and talent by fostering a culture of continued excellence.   • JWT appoints Mohit Hira as SVP & regional biz director

    Mumbai: JWT India has appointed Mohit Hira as SVP and regional business director. He will be based in Delhi.

    Hira has joined from NIIT where he was the chief marketing officer for their retail individual training businesses and the recently launched NIIT University.

    JWT South Asia CEO Colvyn Harris said, “Mohit’s proficiency in creative, content and strategic planning skills and his experience as a brand custodian will work towards creating a great value proposition for our clients. His strong creative and digital capabilities make Mohit a great asset for JWT.”

    Hira brings with him 26 years of diverse experience in advertising, marketing, print and digital media. He has also worked with The Times of India Group with ET and Navbharat Times and later went on to become the director of Times Internet.

    Before joining the corporate world, he was with Contract Advertising (Kolkata and Delhi) and DDB Needham (Oman) where he had creative, account planning and business responsibilities.

  • Sachin Talwalkar joins Commonwealth as ECD

    MUMBAI: Commonwealth, the global JV between McCann Erickson Worldwide and Goodby Silverstein & Partners, has appointed Sachin Talwalkar as the executive creative director.

    Talwalkar‘s last stint was with Contract, Delhi as creative director and vice president where he worked on clients such as NIIT, SpiceJet, Ten Sports, JK Tyres, Shell Lubricants, Huawei, Whirlpool and Dabur.

    McCann Worldgroup South Asia president Prasoon Joshi said, “Sachin has both- great craft and fantastic international experience. I am sure he will add a lot of value and finesse to the creative product.”

    Talwalkar brings with him over 12 years of experience of which 11 years were spend in Europe, working for BBDO and DDB in Germany. He then moved on to Italy to handle P&G‘s oral care business for WE/CEEMEA at Saatchi & Saatchi, Milan.

    In 2008, he moved to London to start his own consultancy onesingleline.co.uk which serviced agencies like Ogilvy, Leo Burnett and DDB launching global and regional campaigns for British American Tobacco and Fiat before moving back to India in 2010.
