    Mumbai: OTT service platform Voot Select is set to stream the second season of “Apharan 2” on 18 March.

    Produced by Ekta R Kapoor and Jio Studios, the show features a stellar cast Arunoday Singh, Nidhi Singh, Snehil Dixit Mehra, Saanand Verma and Sukhmani Sadana and spans across 11 episodes. The show is directed by Santosh Singh, and it is written by Siddharth Sengupta, Umesh Padalkar, Anahata Menon.

    “Apharan is a cult series that was a runaway success,” said Viacom18 Digital Ventures head SVOD and international business Ferzad Palia. “We couldn’t be happier than to bring the second edition exclusively to Voot Select members and play home to this popular franchise. Apharan Season 2 marks the start of a heavy line up of top-quality Originals with probably the most robust slate that India will witness in 2022.”

    A special screening was held for the launch of the show attended by industry honchos on Wednesday. The star-studded affair was attended by Ekta R Kapoor along with the entire cast of the show.

    Set against the backdrop of India and Serbia, “Apharan 2” follows the story of a cop Rudra who sets out on a journey to kidnap an intelligent criminal Bikram Bahadur Shah who wants to eliminate India from the world map. The trailer of the show on YouTube crossed 35 million views over 12 days, according to the streaming platform.

    “The Apharan 2 trailer has risen viewers’ curiosity for the sequel, but the wait is not too long now,” said actor Arunoday Singh. “Playing the character of Rudra Srivastava has been an unforgettable experience for me. The entire cast has kept every minute detail in mind while getting into the skin of our respective characters. We embodied their physical as well as emotional traits.     NEW DELHI: Impact Communications founder & CEO Sanjay Kaul has stepped down from his current position. He is an industry veteran with more than three decades of experience in rural marketing and has been instrumental in building Impact as a rural marketing practice in India. He also serves as the chairman of National Advisory Board of Rural Marketing Association of India.

    Kaul has handed over the mantle to the new leadership team. Nidhi Singh, who has been part of the founding team will be the new CEO, while director- strategy planning Kalpana Raina will take the role of chief operating officer. Both have been part of the core team from the organisation’s formative days.

    “My journey of building Impact from scratch has been fulfilling, enriching and nothing less than a celebration,” said Kaul. “I have been fortunate to have a passionate and talented bunch of professionals in my team, who have both been part of my challenges and success, will always cherish those wonderful memories. I am leaving Impact at the helm of very creative, experienced and knowledgeable professionals and with a solid foundation. The Girliyapa team of women want to say things women always ‘think of’, but never say perhaps because of their fear of being judged by society and thier peers

    Announcing the launch, Girliyapa channel head Tracy Dsouza said, “Yes! We feel you. We hear you women. That’s why my gang of girls and I created ‘Girliyapa’ exclusively for you. We are going to try to make liberal content – content that tells stories and experiences about women, by women in an entertaining treatment. Come join us and explore womanhood with Girliyapa and share with us what you think! We would love to hear from you.”

In an attempt to demystify the monthly ‘phenomenon’ the girls have decided to do something that has never been thought about in India by presenting the funny and quirky situations one experiences during their periods.

    The first presentation by the team of girls was launched around International Women’s Day on addressing this issue through their popular #The Period Song.  The song was created to celebrate menstruation and womanhood in general. The Girliyapa team took a popular party track and turned it into a ‘period’ anthem.

    The lyrics and the video revolve around a teenage girl who as and when gets her first period, is transported to a surreal space called ‘The Period Club’. There, she goes through different experiences, and is offered solutions by more experienced women on how to deal with menstruation and its companions like cramps, cravings, mood swings, pimples etc. The video has a lot of laugh out loud moments, relatable insights and pop cultural references for example ‘daadi left the club but mama abhi baki hai’, ‘red wedding in my pants’, etc.  

    The video features celebrities and social influencers like Sandhya Mridul, Rukhsar Rehman, Pavleen Gujral, Rajshri Deshpande, Sumeet Vyas, Nidhi Singh, Naveen Kasturia, Maanvi Gagroo, Jitendra Kumar, Akanksha Thakur, Santushi Shetty, Sumukhi Suresh and other YouTubers like Rickshwali, etc.

    In its second video presentation Why should Hot Girls have all the fun?,  the Girliyapa team has showcased the exact opposite by showing a not so hot women confronting a guy who is staring at their hot friend and explain logically why he should look at them instead.
