    SVG Media acquires SeventyNine and NetworkPlay

    MUMBAI: SVG Media, a digital media network, has fully acquired mobile video technology platform SeventyNine and performance display platform NetworkPlay from Gurner+Jahr, a unit of Bertelsmann Group.

     

    Post the acquisition, SVG Media has become the largest advertising technology company in India with over 8 per cent market share of digital media. Furthermore, it is now reaching over 100 million internet users on mobile and PC.

     

    SeventyNine and NetworkPlay will now work as independent brands along with SVG Media’s other market leading AdTech platform Tyroo, DGM and PrecisionMatch.

     

    SVG Media founder and CEO Manish Vij along with co-founder and chairman Harish Bahl, “It has been our dream to build a platform of this scale to help our advertisers meet its performance marketing objectives and give best monetization for our publishers for their mobile/PC assets. We are doing this by Affiliate marketplace, Video and Data products. SeventyNine’s patent pending technology is one of first few mobile video platforms that delivers performance to advertisers.”

     

    SeventyNine’s previous co-founders Chirag Shah and Deven Dharamdasani will lead the business post acquisition. “We are very excited to be back and working with the same team at SeventyNine and are very confident of making it the largest mobile video advertising technology platform in Asia,” they said.

     

    Along with its leadership in India, SVG media, is serving business in over seven countries and is on its way to becoming the largest advertising technology platform in Asia.

    MUMBAI: Delhi International Airport (Private) Limited and India’s leading digital media solutions company, Networkplay, have entered into a long-term partnership to create a first-of-its-kind Airport–TV Network within Terminal 3(T3) – Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), Delhi. Commissioned in the year 2010, T3 is the world’s eighth largest passenger terminal.

     

    The Airport-TV Network will air world-class HD-content to entertain, inform and relax the T3 traveller before they board their flight. Placed strategically to engage a captive audience, these TV Screens will offer world-class edutainment content to passengers, who spend between 40-90 minutes on an average, waiting to board their flights. The Airport-TV Network will air a good mix of short-form and long-form content, keeping in mind, the dwell time and content consumption habits of a premium traveller on the move.   • Former Networkplay CEO Sundaram launches PlatformPlay Media Ventures

    MUMBAI: Former Networkplay CEO Rammohan Sundaram has announced the launch of PlatformPlay Media Ventures.

    PlatformPlay Media Ventures will focus on devising the India Entry Strategy for digital businesses looking at increasing their presence in India.

    The new venture would be led by Sundaram as the chairman and managing director with majority stakes from SVG (Smile Vun Group) Media. He is expected to roll out multiple services related to digital advertising under the newly launched company.

    Sundaram said, “Last four plus years as an entrepreneur were filled with tremendous learning but I still have unfinished business with the digital space. With PlatformPlay, we would be the first of its kind firm focussing on “India Entry” for various international digital brands looking at either entering or expanding their footprint in the market.”

    Networkplay appoints Ampreet Singh as CEO

    MUMBAI: Gruner + Jahr (G+J) has appointed Ampreet Singh as the CEO of Networkplay with immediate effect as Networkplay founder and CEO Rammohan Sundaram exited the company by mutual agreement.

    Singh will continue his current duties as Ad:Tech vice president distribution and client servicing and production director India at Networkplay in addition to his new role.

    Sundaram set up Network play in 2008 and will continue to be advisor to the NetworkPlay Board and also continue to be the chairman for ad:tech India. His last day at Networkplay was 31 October.

    Singh has been with Networkplay since its early days. Before becoming a co-founder of Networkplay, Singh worked with Nokia Interactive Advertising, Yahoo India, Tribal DDB in leadership positions and has expertise in the digital space. In his new role as CEO, Singh will be responsible for the overall strategy and direction of Networkplay‘s business.

    In March 2012 G+J, the publishing division of European media conglomerate Bertelsmann AG, acquired a majority stake in Networkplay, India‘s fastest growing digital ad network with presence on internet, mobile, event and DTH platforms.

    MUMBAI: European media conglomerate Bertelsmann AG‘s publishing arm Gruner + Jahr opened is expanding its news corporate in New Delhi to cater the needs of recently acquired companies, MaXposure Media Group and Networkplay.

    Gruner+Jahr‘s entered India in 2008 through the launch of Geo magazine through a license contract and has since then been strategically advancing to build a strong portfolio of print and digital media activities. As part of the expansion strategy in India, the company also acquired majority stakes in digital ad network Networkplay and magazine publisher Maxposure.

    Gruner + Jahr International executive board member and president Torsten-Jörn Klein said, “The opening of Gruner+Jahr‘s new office is an important step in streamlining our operations and building a strong platform in India. In fiscal year 2011, the company generated revenues of euro 2.3 billion and employed around 11,800 people worldwide. 74.9 percent of Gruner + Jahr is owned by Bertelsmann AG, 25.1 percent by the Hamburg publishing family Jahr.

    Bertelsmann arm acquires majority stake in Networkplay

    MUMBAI: The publishing division of European media conglomerate Bertelsmann AG Gruner + Jahr has acquired a majority stake in Indian digital advertising network Networkplay.

    Digital advertising agency Webchutney, incubated by Networkplay in 2008, was funded by Capital18, the venture capital arm of the Network18 group.

    Gruner + Jahr India CEO Kuldip Singh will join the board at Networkplay shortly. He will also be the CFO of Networkplay.

    The agency has presence on Internet, mobile and DTH platforms and partnerships with advertisers and publishers.

    Since inception, Networkplay has been involved in creating effective and scalable advertising solutions across all digital platforms. Over the last three and a half years, the company has grown to reach an execution capability of over four billion impressions per month across 500 publishers and 350 advertisers.

    Networkplay has also brought global event franchises such as ad:tech and iMedia Summits to India, in partnership with dmg::events, a leading international events company that manages over 80 events in over 25 countries.

    Webchutney founder and CEO Sidharth Rao said, “Ram and his team have built an amazing business from an idea a few years ago.
