    MUMBAI: Network18 has appointed seasoned digital entrepreneur Angad Bhatia as chief executive of Firstpost and its freshly minted creator-focused venture, Creator18.

    Bhatia, who founded and scaled the influential men’s lifestyle platform MensXP before its acquisition by Times Internet, brings over 15 years of digital media expertise to the role where he’ll steer India’s international news brand while simultaneously building a creator network across Network18’s digital properties.

    His appointment marks a strategic push by the media conglomerate to capitalise on the booming creator economy while strengthening its news credentials.

    The digital veteran most recently served as chief executive of India Lifestyle Network and spearheaded brand and marketing growth initiatives at Mensa Brands. His career has spanned content, technology and digital commerce, including the development of influential digital-first consumer brands such as iDiva and Hypp.

    Industry observers note Bhatia’s reputation for identifying growth adjacencies and applying entrepreneurial thinking to established media businesses – precisely the toolkit Network18 appears keen to harness as traditional and social media boundaries continue to blur.

    “Bhatia represents the new breed of media executive who understands both content creation and commercial models in the digital sphere,” said a media analyst at a leading consultancy firm. “His experience with MensXP demonstrated he can build audiences while driving commercial success.”

    MUMBAI: Rohit Raikwar has been appointed as general manager at Paytm Ads. He moves from Disney+ Hotstar where he was agency lead.

    In his new role at Paytm, Raikwar will be based in Mumbai. He brings over 15 years of experience in digital advertising sales and revenue generation across leading media companies.

    Prior to Disney+ Hotstar, Raikwar held senior positions at Times Internet, ESPN, Network18 (Moneycontrol), Sify Technologies and India Today Group Digital. He is an MBA in marketing and advertising from IBS Bangalore.

Naik brings extensive experience in online advertising, brand management, sales, and business development to his new position.

    In his announcement, Naik expressed enthusiasm about his new role, stating that he aims to build and scale advertising revenue for the platform. With over a decade of experience in the digital media industry, he has held key roles in several major organisations.

    Prior to joining FanCode, Naik served as vice president of sales at Pinkvilla for 18 months, where he contributed to business development and brand partnerships. Before that, he was senior business director at iCubesWire, managing client relations and digital media sales.

    Naik’s tenure at Olx Advertising as director of agency business spanned over three years, during which he fostered partnerships with agencies and expanded the company’s advertising capabilities.     Piyush Gupta resigns as group CTO of TV Today network

    MUMBAI:  TV Today network has announced the resignation of Piyush Gupta from his position as group chief technology officer. Gupta submitted his resignation via letter, indicating his intent to pursue new opportunities elsewhere. The company has accepted his resignation, and he will officially relinquish his duties at the close of business on 15 April 2025. TV Today informed the Bombay stock exchange about his resignation through a regulatory filing.

    Piyush Gupta has had a distinguished career in the broadcasting industry, having served as Group CTO at TV Today since January 2015. Prior to that, he spent 15 years at Network18 Media & Investments Limited, where he played a pivotal role in launching several prominent channels, including CNBC TV18, CNN IBN, and others. His extensive experience includes overseeing technology and operational processes that significantly contributed to the growth of the network.

    Gupta began his career at Television18  India and also served as a senior engineer at NDTV, bringing a wealth of technical knowledge and leadership experience to his roles. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering from Delhi University.
