  • Illumio and Netskope announce zero trust partnership

Illumio and Netskope announce zero trust partnership

Mumbai – Illumio, Inc., the Zero Trust Segmentation company, and      Netskope, a leader in Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), today announced a Zero Trust partnership that brings together the power of Zero Trust Segmentation (ZTS) and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) to protect against breaches and build cyber resilience. The new partnership combines Illumio ZTS with Netskope ZTNA Next via the Netskope Cloud Exchange (CE) platform to enable network and security teams to create Zero Trust policies that consistently secure access at an organization’s perimeter and within its hybrid, multi-cloud infrastructure.

In its recommended Zero Trust Architecture, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), prescribes three primary Zero Trust enforcement points: identity, network access, and workload segmentation, with Zero Trust Network Access implemented at the organization’s boundary, and Zero Trust Segmentation implemented at the destination workloads. Together, Illumio ZTS and Netskope ZTNA Next share context to ensure consistent Zero Trust security at the perimeter and within an organization’s network to reduce the risk from cyberattacks. Key benefits include:

1   Full visibility across hybrid environments: By combining application-to-application and risk-based visibility from Illumio ZTS with the user-to-application-based visibility in Netskope ZTNA Next, organizations gain a consistent, real-time view of user-to-application and application-to-application traffic, enabling them to better understand risk end-to-end.

2   Protection for end users from non-compliant workloads: Combined visibility between platforms enables security teams to define Netskope policy to block access between users and potentially compromised workloads, or workloads in segmented environments, increasing resilience across the organization.

3   Dynamic ZTNA policy: Netskope’s security policies are automatically updated based on metadata from Illumio, eliminating the need to rewrite rules as workload attributes change, ensuring users and critical applications are always protected and allowing organizations to scale their Zero Trust architecture.

With ransomware attacks on the rise and IBM data showing the cost of breaches increasing to $4.45 million, organisations are turning towards Zero Trust solutions to strengthen resilience. ZTNA is already widely adopted with Gartner seeing “strong adoption among large organizations and midmarket organizations.” Adoption of microsegmentation is also expected to rise rapidly; Gartner predicts that “by 2026, 60 percent of enterprises working toward Zero Trust architecture will use more than one deployment form of microsegmentation, up from less than 5% in 2023.”

“Businesses today are under pressure to ensure that the right people have the right access to the right online resources, and that requires applying zero trust principles to every interaction with those resources. Our partnership with Illumio ensures that the Netskope One platform learns additional, needed context around private workload posture to help inform and reinforce the security with which private applications and workloads are accessed,” said Netskope VP of Technology Alliances David Willis.

“Organizations need their Zero Trust technologies to share context so that they have the same view of the environment they’re protecting and can update policies accordingly,” said Illumio chief product officer Mario Espinoza. “That’s exactly what the Illumio and Netskope integration does – Illumio provides Netskope with the needed context to prevent remote users from accessing compromised workloads, while also protecting potentially non-compliant internal workloads from remote access, stopping breaches from spreading. Essentially, we are making it easier than ever for organizations to implement Zero Trust across their hybrid environments to strengthen resilience.”

  • New Netskope App for ServiceNow modernizes threat and data protection workflows

New Netskope App for ServiceNow modernizes threat and data protection workflows

Mumbai – Netskope, a leader in Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), has announced the release of the Netskope App for ServiceNow, further extending the collaboration between the two companies. Designed to simplify threat and data protection workflows, the app leverages advanced features such as Netskope real-time user coaching to help security operations (SecOps) and incident response (IR) to keep users productive and the business resilient when responding to incidents and alerts.

Today, most legacy secure web gateways limit how IT and security teams can effectively respond to a user request or a threat incident by only allowing admins a binary choice to allow or block access based on a web destination. By leveraging Netskope’s patented capabilities to understand and differentiate the context around user engagement with the internet, the Netskope App for ServiceNow facilitates a number of workflows to automatically create, manage, and respond to events and incidents. As a result, users remain engaged and productive with the business tools they would otherwise be blocked from using, all while reducing the friction between IT departments and the volume of tickets generated by users. The app also supports predefined and ad hoc workflows, giving admins multiple outcomes to choose from, including limited uploads, limited downloads, real-time user coaching, and justification, in addition to allowing and blocking access.

“This latest integration between Netskope and ServiceNow enables customers to go beyond the limitations of solely ‘block’ or ‘allow’ options and respond with a wide variety of continuously updated zero trust outcomes,” said David Willis, Vice President of Technology Alliances, Netskope. “The Netskope App for ServiceNow helps admins manage a large number of findings ranging from ‘patient zero’ threats or a widespread data protection event using Netskope’s context rich data directly from the ServiceNow dashboard. It puts the necessary details into the IT and SecOps admins’ hands to enforce and enable users based on correlated and investigated findings in ServiceNow.”

With the new Netskope App for ServiceNow administrators can now:

. Investigate and reduce time-to-respond to incidents and alerts through ticketing automation and enrichment informed by Netskope

. Manage threats or data protection events with Netskope data directly from the ServiceNow dashboard, thereby reducing alert fatigue and operational costs from time spent toggling between multiple interfaces

. Provide user coaching in real time over email while handling IT service management for any user triggering any type of alert, providing more choices for outcomes, beyond simple allow or block decisions

. Provide near real-time assessment of malware and automatically create a multi-step correlation to highlight and identify ‘patient zero’ during an attack

. Offer immediate lookups for SaaS application data protection posture for over 80,000 applications

“This is an exciting development in our longstanding partnership with Netskope and represents a milestone in our shared mission to automate data privacy and security response workflows for our customers,” said ServiceNow Director of Product Management, Security Incident Response Hareesh Namavarapu. “With Netskope’s insights seamlessly integrated into the Now Platform, our customers can orchestrate powerful security workflows and investigate alerts with greater efficiency for their organization.”

  • Netskope announces MSP friendly, enterprise grade SASE tailored for the midmarket

Netskope announces MSP friendly, enterprise grade SASE tailored for the midmarket

Mumbai: Netskope, a leader in Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) announced the next addition to its family of single-vendor SASE offerings, focused on midmarket organizations and the Managed Service Providers (MSP) that serve them. The ongoing expansion of Netskope’s industry-leading SASE portfolio enables Netskope and its partners to deliver a complete range of single-vendor SASE capabilities tailored for various customer sizes and technology environments, ranging from midmarket businesses to large enterprises requiring the advanced SASE capabilities other single-vendor SASE vendors can’t provide.

Despite being smaller, midmarket organizations are facing many of the same hybrid work connectivity and cybersecurity challenges as their larger enterprise counterparts. As a result, these organizations have had to similarly deploy and manage a broad range of security and networking tools, leading to unnecessary complexity and ballooning maintenance costs, overwhelming their smaller IT teams and budgets.

Further exacerbating the challenges faced by midmarket businesses are the limitations of legacy security technologies, as well as the lack of advanced security options available from most single-vendor SASE vendors. According to the Gartner® 2023 Critical Capabilities for Single-Vendor SASE report, “Across all offerings, most vendors provide strong branch networking and branch security capabilities. However, the level of advanced security features across all offerings is only mediocre for most enterprises.”

The new Netskope SASE for midmarket solution delivers the same reliable performance and advanced security capabilities of previously released Netskope enterprise SASE offerings, in an easy-to-manage, midmarket-ready package, including:

Netskope’s best-in-class enterprise-grade threat and data protection capabilities are delivered ready to use out of the box.

Simplified deployment and administration of networking and security policies through an easy-to-use, unified management console, and the industry’s first unified SASE client. Context-aware Netskope Borderless SD-WAN, and the global network coverage provided by Netskope NewEdge, to maximize network agility and performance from anywhere.

Further recognising that many midmarket organizations prefer to outsource the administration of their networking and security, Netskope has designed this latest SASE offering with its leading MSP partners in mind. Critical platform functionalities like multi-tenancy support have been put in place to make it easy for MSPs to deploy and manage Netskope SASE at scale for multiple customers.

Netskope global alliances and channel sales Dave Rogers said, “Netskope continues to disrupt the status quo by providing more companies the right balance of performance and security-all the benefits of single-vendor SASE, at the right level for their size and needs.

Today’s release is an ideal SASE solution for midmarket enterprises that are ready to consolidate their hardware, optimize performance, and won’t settle for mediocre security. “He added.

Netskope continues to expand its SASE capabilities and now offers the most complete range of single-vendor SASE options that align to the requirements of different business sizes, from midmarket to the largest enterprises looking to consolidate multi-vendor environments without skimping on advanced networking and security features. Netskope also continues to strengthen and expand its MSP partnerships worldwide, including with BT, Deloitte, Orange, Telefonica, Telstra, Wipro, and more.

Wipro vice president & global head cloud and infrastructure security Siva VRS said, “As our fortune 5000 customers continue building upon their digital transformation initiatives, many are considering or actively adopting SASE as a critical convergence of cloud-delivered networking and security capabilities,”

“We are excited to continue working together with Netskope to deliver the right levels of SASE solution to a range of business types and sizes.” He added.

Halo Global CEO Darren Carlson said, “Our midmarket enterprise customers have been waiting for Halo Global as an MSP to offer a unified SASE solution that is easy to deploy and can be co-managed and administered by their resource-constrained IT/security team, all while improving their network performance and security posture, we are excited to be working with Netskope to help achieve these outcomes for our clients with Netskope SASE.”
