  • Divyapratap Mehta joins Publicis Capital as chief strategy officer

    MUMBAI: Divyapratap Mehta has joined Publicis Capital as chief strategy officer.

    Mehta comes in from Grey India where he was vice-president, planning. Today is his first day at Publicis Capital.

    Publicis Capital CEO Hemant Misra confirmed the news to indiantelevision.com.com.

    Mehta started his career in the industry in 1995 with McCann Erickson as account manager. After a stint of five years at the IPG agency, he moved to Publicis’ Leo Burnett in 2004 where he donned the roles of account director.

    He worked at Burnett for two years before shifting to TBWA as group account and planning director. A year later he moved to Low Lintas and Partners as regional planning director- vice president-South East Asia (Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia). His next stop was Grey where he joined in 2010.

    Mehta has developed expertise in FMCG/ CPG and consumer electronics across diverse markets with clients like Nestle, Unilever, Reckitt Benckiser, Coke, LG and Panasonic.

  • Everest appoints Deepti Sakhuja as VP for Delhi

    MUMBAI: Deepti Sakhuja has joined Everest Delhi as vice president and will be closely working with COO Naveen Saraswat.

    Sakhuja has 14 years of experience in brand management across organisations like Publicis Capital, JWT, Lowe, Bates Enterprise and McCann. Her last assignment was with Publicis Capital as AVP, client servicing. Sakhuja has worked across categories on leading brands like Nestle, Perfetti, Reckitt Benkiser, Pepsi, Wills Lifestyle, Monte Carlo, Citi-financial, Nokia and Escorts.

    Saraswat said, “We welcome Deepti on board. Her substantial experience of working on leading brands across different verticals shall add strength to our Delhi operations. We look forward to her valuable contribution in acquiring new business and growth of the agency.”

  • MPG India appoints Kavita Vohra to head buying for north

    MUMBAI: Havas Media‘s media planning and buying network MPG India has appointed Kavita Vohra as MPG India associate vice president investments. She will report to MPG India executive director-north Uday Mohan.

    Vohra’s mandate will include heading buying for MPG Delhi with additional responsibility of Bangalore and Kolkata. She has over 10 years experience in media planning and buying, having worked with several key accounts across categories.

    Vohra started her career at Lodestar working on Whirlpool and then moved on to Cheil Communications to handle Hyundai and Samsung. Thereafter, her role involved TV buying for Nokia Mobiles at GroupM, followed by buying for Nestle and a host of other clients at Zenith Optimedia.

    Havas Media India and South Asia CEO Anita Nayyar said, “MPG India has always been a growth leader in the region as we continue to expand our footprint and offerings to our clients. Kavita’s appointment will further strengthen our buying offering.”

    MPG India managing director Mohit Joshi said, “We are very happy to have Kavita with us.     MUMBAI: Scarecrow Communications has won the creative mandate of Reliance Mutual Fund (RMF) following a multi-agency pitch.

    Scarecrow with offices in Mumbai and Delhi handles brands like Nestle, Reliance Digital, DNA, DLF, Future Capital, Eristoff (Bacardi), B‘lue and Rupa Innerwear.

    A subsidiary of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, RMF offers investors a portfolio of products to meet varying investor requirements and has presence in 179 cities across the country.

  • Debashis Paul to join Percept H as COO

    MUMBAI: After a stint of over 12 years at McCann Erickson, Debashis Paul joining Percept H as chief operating officer.

    Paul resigns as McCann Erickson India EVP and McCann Social head.

    Assuming the national role at Percept H, Paul will manage agency‘s offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai and Lucknow.

    Paul said, “The portfolio of clients I have handled at McCann Erickson is very enviable. I have had deep and long-term involvement with clients like Nestle, HP, Coca-Cola and earlier Reckitt & Benckiser. McCann also handles few global accounts that have helped me in getting a perspective of a global client. I have also had the experience of handling Indian appointment clients like Perfetti and Dabur. It has been a great journey where I have managed different kinds of clients and in almost all categories.”

    Paul has been heading the Delhi branch since 2007. Prior to joining McCann Erickson, he was with Saatchi & Saatchi for over five years. He had worked at Saatchi & Saatchi‘s as head of Calcutta office before moving to Delhi as head.
     

  • Ignitee appoints Ranjoy Dey as COO

    MUMBAI: Ignitee Digital Services, a digital marketing and media agency, has appointed Ranjoy Dey as the chief operating officer.

    Based in Ignitee’s Gurgaon office, Dey will be managing the business across the offices of Ignitee in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai.

    He will be responsible to lead all aspects of marketing and operations for Ignitee, aligning the marketing strategy and brand positioning for the company’s growth in the evolving digital advertising industry.

    Dey will report to Ignitee CEO Atul Hegde.

He has handled clients like Nestle, Reckitt Benckiser, ITC, Samsung, Audi, Volkswagen, Dabur, Axis Bank and JK Tyres at Digitas India. Prior to joining Digitas India, he had also taken up roles to set up and lead e-Marketing and CRM functions from scratch in IT and eLearning companies.

    MediaVest Worldwide hires Atul Sharma as GM

    MUMBAI: MediaVest Worldwide, a Starcom MediaVest Group agency, has appointed Atul Sharma as GM-Delhi.

    Sharma has joined from Madison Media where he worked on clients like Coca Cola.

    Sharma will oversee the Dabur business and will report to SMG executive director Sulina Menon.

    Menon said, “We are happy to have Atul on board for Dabur. With his extensive FMCG experience and the research background we are looking at him to drive strategy led solutions to the Dabur brands.”

    Sharma said, “SMG is a future ready organization and I am excited to work with the new age tools like Tardiis and optimize plans across TV and Web in one go”.

    Sharma comes in with more than 11 years of experience in strategy, procurement and implementation. He started his career with NDTV in research and marketing. He has worked on audience segmentation models, business development and marketing plans. Sharma had also worked with Initiative Media and MPG, working on clients like LG, Nestle, ITC , Maruti and Reckitt Benkiser.

  • Grey’s creative team sees changes

    MUMBAI: Grey India has brought in a series of changes in its creative leadership team.

    Vishnu Srivatsav will move to Mumbai and serve as executive creative director and creative head of Batey India, which is Grey’s second agency in India. The agency has also appointed Ram Jayaraman as group creative director and creative head, south.

    Jayaraman moves in from JWT, Mumbai where he was AVP and senior creative director (copy). He will lead the creative responsibilities for Grey South (Bangalore and Chennai) together with Sham Ramachandran who is executive creative director and creative head, south.

    Ram has over 11 years work experience in advertising. In his previous role, he was the creative head for the India business on Radiant (RIN), Smirnoff, Amit Enterprises and Ahuja Constructions. He led Radiant to 5/5 in the agency review, a never-before achievement in the Unilever portfolio. Ram has also worked on some very popular brands and campaigns for Times Of India, Set MAX, Godrej, Kingfisher, Pepsi Co, Nestle, GSK (Horlicks & Boost), ESPN Star Sports, Ford, Pizza Hut, KFC, Hero Honda, Ford, Reebok, Unitech.He’s a Cannes 2005 finalist and Ranked 667 in Campaign Brief Asia’s “Top 1011 Creatives in Asia. His work has been published in Lurzer’s Archive 2008. He’s won a bronze at Goafest ’09 for craft in copy for a long copy ad written for TOI (on 26/11 attacks). Apart from advertising, he is passionate about books, poetry writing, Sachin Tendulkar, Royal Enfield, long-distance running, beer and heavy metal. He is a post graduate in Advertising & Public Relations, IMC.

    Before his appointment, Ramachandran and Srivatsav together had spearheaded the creative duties for Southern region. Grey India has done work from its South market for clients like Britannia, Bharti AXA, UB Wines, ITC etc. Vishnu, after building the creative force in South, has now moved to Bombay as executive creative director and creative head, Batey (a Grey group company).His responsibility is to build a formidable creative structure for Batey in Mumbai.

    MUMBAI: Real estate major DLF has selected Scarecrow Communications as its creative agency for some of its residential products across India following a rigorous pitch process. The Delhi office of Scarecrow will handle the account.


    DLF, founded in 1946 by Raghuvendra Singh, currently has over 3000 acres of planned development in place. It is known for having developed Gurgaon into a major international sub city.

    BBC, Ficci strategic partners in Mumbai Saarc biz meet

    NEW DELHI: BBC World, the BBC’s international 24-hour news and information channel will be the official media partner for the second SAARC Business Leaders Conclave, being hosted on 17 and 18 February in Mumbai, a company statement said today.

    The conclave organised by the SAARC Chamber of Commerce will see BBC World and Ficci as strategic partners, providing a platform for global debate, dialogue and discussion.

    Pranab Mukherjee, Minister for Foreign Affairs of India, will inaugurate the SAARC Business Leaders Conclave 2007.

    The two-day event will witness participation from eminent corporate, government and media personnel from across the sub-continent.

    Among those addressing the conclave are Dasho Ugen Tsechup Dorji, President, SCCI; Syed Yawar Ali, Chairman, Nestle, Pakistan;. Alan Winters, Director- Development Research Group, The World Bank and Najam Sethi, Daily Times, Pakistan.

    On February18, BBC World will organise a debate: “Is a South Asian economic union necessary for economic growth in South Asian nations?”

    The debate will be moderated by BBC World’s business correspondent, Karishma Vaswani with Vicki Treadell, Deputy High Commissioner, British Deputy High Commission, Mumbai and Anand Giridharadas, South Asia Correspondent, International Herald Tribune, among others taking part in the panel discussions.

    The 2007 conclave will reinforce this process through its two-day session theme – Regional Cooperation: A Springboard for Growth and Job Creation.
