    Lodestar UM introduces Tata Hexa with carpool karaoke

    MUMBAI: Introducing Tata Motors’ flagship brand Hexa, Lodestar UM, part of media agency conglomerate IPG Mediabrands, has created India’s first carpool karaoke with the star cast of the upcoming Bollywood blockbuster Rock on 2.

    Lodestar UM Studios – the content division of the agency proposed the idea of doing India’s first car pool karaoke. The swanky new Hexa was rigged with 12 cameras to capture all angles of the fun and excitement within. The track was loaded on Hexa’s hi-end infotainment system equipped with 10 JBL speakers and what followed was an awesome experience. 

    The stars drove around Bandra, they jammed, playing drums and air guitars, doing a high energy karaoke on their famous title track. The ride ended with them jamming and driving to the trailer launch event of Rock On 2 at the amphitheater in Bandra.

    On this innovative initiative Lodestar UM CEO Nandini Dias said, “This is a true example of a unique collaborative innovation by team Lodestar, where two big brands getting launched in November were brought together on the universally loved Music platform. 

    Commenting on the association, Tata Motors  marketing head — PVBU Vivek B Srivastava said, “Our association with Excel Entertainment for Rock on 2 reiterates our customer centric approach towards our much awaited power-packed, feature loaded and adrenaline pumped lifestyle vehicle, the Tata Hexa.”

    “Rock On 2 is representative of the youth of the country that is passionate about music and motoring and thus it’s an ideal fit for Tata Hexa”, said Lodestar UM SVP Deepak Netram.

    Nikhil Rangnekar is Lodestar UM’s new media consultant

    MUMBAI: IPG Mediabrands’s Lodestar UM has appointed Nikhil Rangnekar as its media consultant. Based out of Lodestar UM Mumbai, Rangnekar will be reporting to the CEO Nandini Dias.

    Rangnekar has moved from Spatial Access where he was the CEO of the Media Audit and Advisory business.

    “Nikhil is an industry veteran and we are delighted to have him on board. He has a varied background having worked in various capacities driving strategy, business and audits. He brings in a lot of experience and strategic thinking which we intend to leverage,” said Dias.

    Armed with over 19 years of experience in the advertising and the media industry, Rangnekar started his career with Starcom in 1997 where in 14 years he climbed the ranks from a management trainee to executive director. In 2011, he quit Starcom to join Spatial Access. He is also the chairman of the marketing committee of IRS at MRUC.

    Talking about his new role, Rangnekar said, “I am extremely happy to join Lodestar UM in the role of a strategy consultant. For me, it’s a prestigious assignment working with one of the largest groups in the world and in India.”

    He further added, “I will be working with the individual brand teams in helping them take our strategy product to the next level. I will also be working closely with the Labcentre team on the various proprietary researches and tools that IPG Mediabrands has and aim to evolve them in line with the changes happening in the media environment in India. If my last role was more about driving efficiency, the new role is more about driving effectiveness. Lastly, I am proud to have got this opportunity to work with industry stalwarts like Shashi and Nandini.”

    Lodestar UM retains number two position at EMVIES 2014

    MUMBAI: It was a night of celebration and awards. And at the centre of it was Maxus, which won nine gold, six silver and three bronze trophies at the EMVIES 2014.

     

    Maintaining the second position was Loadstar UM which bagged one gold and 13 silver trophies. On the win, Loadstar UM CEO Nandini Dias said, “It would have been nice to have been the media agency of the year, but many would say that I should be satisfied since we are way ahead of a lot of others. The good part is that no agency has had award winning work across so many diverse clients and categories.”

     

    “We have Coca Cola, Microsoft , Mahindra , Amul , Tata Motors, Johnson and Johnson, Kansai Nerolac . In addition we have won in categories which are the toughest that is ‘strategy and research’ and ’analytics’. Unfortunately in digital space despite being digital agency of the year in IAMAI, in Emvies barring one none of the work got short listed,” she added.

     

    This year saw 650 entries, of which 132 were shortlisted by 32 marketing and research professionals.  Maxus got the highest number of shortlists with 27 entries, followed by Madison Media and Lodestar UM which got 23 shortlists each and Mindshare with 19 entries.  

     

    The ‘Best Media Client of the Year’ was bagged by Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) and Tata Global Beverages with 100 points each. While Tata Global Beverages won four gold and two silver medals and HUL bagged three gold, five silver and one bronze medal.

     

    The fourth position for ‘Media Agency of the Year’ was jointly bagged by Madison Media Pinnacle and Madison Media Infinity with 70 points each, while PHD India stood at number five with 55 points.

     

    The evening also the felicitation of the ‘Young Emvie of the Year’ which was won by DDB Mudramax  chief youth marketer Samyak Chakrabarty for his Operation Black Dot, Clean and Clear, United Nations Young Changemakers Conclave and DDB Mudra Group Youth Report. As part of the prize, Chakrabarty has been given an all expense paid trip from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi as well as a free trip to Ferrari World.
