    Zee Anmol most watched Hindi channel across genres in penultimate week of 2018

    BENAGLURU: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) free to air (FTA) Hindi GEC Zee Anmol was the most watched Hindi channel across genres in week 51 of 2018 (Saturday, 15 December 2018 to Friday, 21 December 2018, week or period under review). Overall, the channel was ranked second, just behind the regular incumbent of rank one – the Sun TV Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV during the week under review in Broadcast Audience Research Council of India’s (BARC) weekly list of top 10 channels across genres in week 51 of 2018. Hence Zee Anmol was the most watched Hindi channel – be it the GEC or the movies genre.

    Six Hindi GECs, two Telugu channels and one channel each from the Hindi Movies and Tamil genres made up BARC’s list of top channels across genres (across genres list) in week 51 of 2018. From the network’s perspective, there were four channels from Star India, three channels from Zeel and one channel each from Sony Pictures Network India (SPN), Sun TV and Viacom 18 that made up BARC’s across genres list during the period under review.

    At its normal first rank in week 51 of 2018 was Sun TV with 973.093 million weekly impressions as compared to 1972.898 weekly impressions in week 50. Sun TV also led BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Tamil channels in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry market and three programmes in BARC’s list of top 5 Tamil programmes during primetime in these markets based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week under review were aired on Sun TV.

    Zee Anmol climbed up a rank to second place in week 51 of 2018 with 766.527 million weekly impressions as compared to 780.784 million weekly impressions in week 50. Zee Anmol was also ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) and was ranked ninth in HSM (U). The Balaji Telefilms produced soap Kumkum Bhagya was ranked first in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R). Another two programmes aired on the channel – Mahek  and Ek Main aur Ek Tu were ranked fifth and third respectively in HSM (R).

    Dropping down a place to third rank was Star India’s flagship Hindi GEC Star Plus with 764.975 million impressions as compared to 787.518 million weekly impressions and second rank in week 50. Star Plus was ranked second in BARC’s weekly lists of top 10 Hindi GECs in the combined urban and rural Hindi speaking markets or HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (U) and eighth in HSM (R). The 4 Lion Films soap Kulfi Kumar Bajewala aired on Star Plus was present in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes in HSM (U) during primetime  based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat).

    Zeel’s flagship Hindi GEC Zee TV retained its previous week’s fourth rank in week 51 with 7562.121 million weekly impressions as compared to 734.226 million weekly impressions in week 50. Zee TV was ranked third in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and second in HSM (U), and was ranked seventh in HSM (R). Two programmes that were aired on Zee TV- Kumkum Bhagya, and its spinoff Kundali Bhagya were at fourth and third ranks respectively in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and second and fourth respectively in HSM (U).

    Another Star India Hindi GEC Star Bharat climbed up one place to fifth rank in week 51 of 2018 with 693.134 million weekly impressions as compared to 674.982 million weekly impressions in week 50. Star Bharat was ranked fourth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), and fifth in HSM (R) and HSM (U). The Hindi mythology Radhakrishn on the channel was ranked fifth in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R).

    Star India’s flagship Telugu GEC Star Maa dropped a rank to sixth place in week 51 of 2018 with 683.707 million weekly impressions as compared with 687.563 million weekly impressions in week 50. Star Maa was ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu channels in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana market. Five programmes that were aired on Star Maa were present in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in the same market.

    SPN’s Hindi movies channel Sony Max re-entered BARC’s across genres list in week 51 of 2018 with 575.714 million weekly impressions. Sony Max was ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi movies channels in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U) and was ranked fifth in HSM (R). Hindi feature film (HFF) Sarrainodu was ranked third in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi movies programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and second in HSM (U). Two other movies on the channel – HFF Bahubali 2 the Conclusion and PK were ranked third and fifth in HSM (U).

    Viacom18’s flagship Hindi GEC Colors also retained eighth rank in week 51 of 2018 with 572.851 million weekly impressions during the week under review as compared to 576.088 million weekly impressions in week 50 of 2018. Colors was ranked sixth in in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), third in HSM (U) and was ranked tenth in HSM (R). The third season of the Balaji Telefilms produced supernatural drama Naagin 3 was ranked second and first in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U) respectively.

    Star India’s FTA Hindi GEC Star Utsav dropped two ranks to ninth place in week 51 of 2018 with 569.081 million weekly impressions as compared to 628.094 weekly impressions in week 50. Star Utsav was ranked fifth in BARC’s list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R).  and was ranked seventh in HSM (U).

    Zeel’s flagship Telugu GEC Zee Telugu dropped a place to tenth rank in week 51 of 2018 with 529.277 million weekly impressions as compared to 563.158 million weekly impressions in week 50. The channel was ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu channels in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana market.

    BENGALURU: Half the channels in Broadcast Audience Research Council of India’s (BARC) weekly list for the ten most watched channels across genres in week 50 of 2018 (Saturday, 8 December 2018 to Friday, 14 December 2018, week or period under review) were from the Star India Network. This was the week during which election results for five Indian states were announced. Besides the Star India channels, there were three channels from Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) and one channel each from the Sun TV Network and Viacom 18 in the week under review. From the genres perspective all the ten channels were GEC, there were six Hindi GEC channels and two channels each from the Tamil and the Telugu genres.

    Star India’s flagship Hindi GEC Star Plus was ranked second in the list, behind the Sun Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV and hence was the most watched Hindi channel across genres during the period under review.

    At its normal first rank in week 50 of 2018 was Sun TV with 972.898 million weekly impressions as compared to 1,027.961 weekly impressions in week 49. Sun TV also led BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Tamil channels in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry market and three programmes in BARC’s list of top 5 Tamil programmes during primetime in these markets based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week under review were aired on Sun TV.

    Climbing up a place to second rank in week 50 of 2018 was Star Plus with million impressions as compared to 785.322 million weekly impressions in week 49. Star Plus was ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in the combined urban and rural Hindi speaking markets or HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (U) and eighth in HSM (R). The 4 Lion Films soap Kulfi Kumar Bajewala and the longest running soap in terms of number of episodes, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai aired on Star Plus were present in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes in HSM (U) during primetime  based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat).

    Dropping a place to third rank was Zeel’s free to air or FTA Hindi GEC Zee Anmol in week 50 of 2018 with 780.784 million weekly impressions as compared to 849.099 million weekly impressions in week 49. Zee Anmol was also ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) and was ranked ninth in HSM (U). The Balaji Telefilms produced soap Kumkum Bhagya was ranked first in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R). The Hindi mythology Radhakrishn on the channel was ranked fifth in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GECs programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R).

    Star India’s FTA Hindi GEC retained its seventh rank in week 50 of 2018 with 628.094 million weekly impressions as compared to 641.354 weekly impressions in week 49. Star Utsav was ranked fifth in BARC’s list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) seventh in HSM (U) and was ranked second in HSM (R).

    Viacom18’s flagship Hindi GEC Colors also retained its previous week’s eighth rank in week 50 of 2018. The channel garnered 576.088 million weekly impressions during the week under review as compared to 575.390 million weekly impressions in week 49 of 2018. Colors was ranked sixth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), third in HSM (U) and was ranked tenth in HSM (R). The third season of the Balaji Telefilms produced supernatural drama Naagin 3 was ranked second and first in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GECs programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U) respectively.

Zee Telugu scored 563.158 million weekly impressions as compared to 545.402 million weekly impressions in week 49. The channel was ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu channels in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana market.

    Star India’s flagship Tamil GEC Star Vijay entered BARC’s weekly list of top 10 channels across genres in week 50 of 2018 at tenth rank with 523.625 million weekly impressions. Star Vijay was ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Tamil channels in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry market.

    BENGALURU: Two Hindi GECs from the Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) stable – free-to-air or FTA Zee Anmol and flagship pay TV channel Zee TV were once again the second and third most watched channels across genres in 2018 in week 48 (Saturday, 24 November 2018 to Friday, 30 November 2018). Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) data for the week shows that the Sun TV Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV was the most watched channel across genres during the week under review. This makes Zee Anmol and Zee TV the most watched Hindi channels during the week – be they GEC or Hindi movies genres.

    According to BARC data for week 48 of 2018, four Star India channels, three channels from Zeel, two channels from Sony Pictures Network India (SPN) and one channel from the Sun TV Network made up the list of top 10 channels across genres. There were seven Hindi GECs, two Telugu GECs and one Tamil GEC in the list of top 10 channels across genres.

During the week under review the first five ranks order was the same as in the previous week.  

    At its normal first rank in week 47 of 2018 was Sun TV with 990.104 million weekly impressions as compared to 935.190 million weekly impressions in week 46 of 2018. Sun TV also led BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Tamil channels in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry market and four programmes in BARC’s list of top 5 Tamil programmes during primetime in these markets based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week under review were aired on Sun TV.

    Also at its previous week’s second rank  in week 47 of 2018 was Zeel’s free to air (FTA) Hindi GEC Zee Anmol with 842.236 million weekly impressions as compared to 775.164 million weekly impressions in week 46. Zee Anmol was also ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in the combined urban and rural Hindi speaking markets or HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) and was ranked ninth in HSM (U). The Balaji Telefilms-produced soap Kumkum Bhagya was ranked first in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R). Another programme aired on the channel – Mahek was ranked second in HSM (R).

    Continuing at its previous week’s third rank was Star India’s pay-TV channel Star Bharat. The channel scored 765.704 million weekly impressions in week 47 of 2018 as compared to 722.909 million weekly impressions in week 46. Star Bharat was ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), fourth in HSM (R) and was ranked fifth in HSM (U). The Hindi mythology Radhakrishn on the channel was ranked fourth and fifth in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U) respectively.

    Star India’s flagship Hindi GEC Star Plus also retained its previous week’s rank – fourth, with 748.250 million impressions in week 47 of 2018 as compared to 696.102 million weekly impressions in week 46. Star Plus was ranked third in BARC’s weekly lists of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (U) and ninth in HSM (R). The 4 Lion Films soap Kulfi Kumar Bajewala aired on Star Plus was present in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime  based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in HSM (U) at fourth rank.

    Zeel’s flagship Hindi GEC Zee TV also maintained its week 46 rank of fifth place in week 47. Zee TV garnered 728.191 million weekly impressions in week 47 of 2018 as compared to 694.459 million weekly impressions in week 46. Zee TV was ranked fifth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), seventh in HSM (R), and third in HSM (U) during the week under review. Two programmes that were aired on Zee TV- Kumkum Bhagya, and its spinoff Kundali Bhagya were at fifth and third ranks respectively in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and third and second respectively in HSM (U).

    Star India’s FTA Hindi GEC Star Utsav climbed up a rank to sixth place in week 47 of 2018 with 719.252 million weekly impressions as compared to 678.124 weekly impressions in week 46. Star Utsav was ranked fourth in BARC’s list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), second in HSM (R) and was ranked seventh in HSM (U).

    Star Maa dropped a rank to seventh place in week 47 of 2018 with 676.362 million weekly impressions as compared with 679.864 million weekly impressions in week 46. Star Maa was ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu channels in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana market.     Viacom18’s flagship Hindi GEC Colors climbed up two ranks to eighth place in week 47 of 2018 with 676.362 million weekly impressions as compared to 642.486 million weekly impressions in week 46. Colors was ranked seventh, tenth and fourth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs’ in HSM (U+R), HSM (R) and HSM (U) respectively. The Balaji Telefilms produced third season of the supernatural drama Naagin 3 was ranked second and first in BARC’s lists of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime  based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U) respectively.

    SPN’s flagship Hindi GEC Sony Entertainment Television or SET re-entered the across genres list in week 47 of 2018 with 627.218 mill weekly impressions at ninth rank. SET was ranked eighth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and was ranked second in HSM (U).

    Dropping two places to tenth rank in week 47 of 2018 was SPN’s women focused Hindi GEC Sony Pal with 617.770 million weekly impressions as compared to 664.269 million weekly impressions. Sony Pal was ranked sixth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs’ in HSM (U+R), third in HSM (R) and was ranked eighth in HSM (U).     BENGALURU: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd's (Zeel) free to air (FTA) Hindi GEC Zee Anmol was ranked second, as in the previous week,  in Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) weekly list of top 10 channels across genres in week 46 of 2018 (Saturday, 10 November 2018 to Friday, 16 November 2018). At its usual place at first rank in BARC’s weekly list for week 46 of 2018 was the Sun TV Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV. Hence, Zee Anmol was the most watched Hindi channel, be it Hindi GEC or Hindi movies during the week under review.

    Seven Hindi GECs and one channel each from the Hindi movies, Tamil and Telugu channels made up BARC’s weekly list of top 10 channels across genres in week 46 of 2018.     BENGALURU: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd's (Zeel) free to air (FTA) Hindi GEC Zee Anmol was back to second rank in Broadcast Audience Research Council of India’s (BARC) weekly list of top 10 channels across genres in week 45 of 2018 (Saturday, 3 November 2018 to Friday, 9 November 2018, week under review). Zee Anmol was ranked third in week 44 of 2018, just behind its older sibling channel Zee TV. At its normal first rank was the Sun TV Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV. Hence, Zee Anmol topped all Hindi channels – be they Hindi GEC or Hindi movies.

    Six Hindi GECs, two Hindi movies channels and one channel each from the Tamil and the Telugu genres made up BARC’s weekly list of top channels across genres (across genres list) in week 45 of 2018.     SPN’s Hindi movies channel Sony Max climbed up a rank to eighth place in week 45 of 2018 with 673.586 million weekly impressions as compared to 593.077 million weekly impressions in week 44. Sony Max was ranked second in BARC’s weekly lists of top 5 Hindi movies channels in HSM (U+R), first in HSM (U) and was ranked fifth in HSM (R). The Hindi Feature Film (HFF) Bahubali 2 the Conclusion  was ranked third  and first in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi movies programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U) respectively. Two more HFFs’ Sarrainodu and AAA were also present in BARC’s HSM (U) list for top 5 Hindi movies programmes.

    Viacom18’s flagship Hindi GEC Colors also dropped a rank to ninth place in week 45 of 2018 with 621.799 million weekly impressions as compared to 635.465 million weekly impressions in week 44. Colors was ranked sixth, tenth and second in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), HSM (R) and HSM (U) respectively.     Another SPN Hindi movies channel Sony Wah re-entered BARC’s across genres list in week 45 of 2018 with 613.745 million weekly impressions at rank ten. Sony Wah was ranked first in HSM (U+R), first in HSM (R) and fifth in HSM (U) in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi movies channels. HFF Sura aired on Sony Wah was present in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi movies programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R). Another HFF Sooryavansham was also among the top 5 Hindi movies programmes in HSM (R).

    BENGALURU: For the second consecutive week in a row, the Sun TV Network’s flagship Tamil GEC and Star India’s flagship Telugu GEC Star Maa were the only non-Hindi GEC channels in Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) weekly list of top 10 channels across genre. The other eight channels in BARC’s weekly across genres list in week 41 0f 2018 (Saturday, 6 October 2018 to Friday, 12 October 2018) were all Hindi GECs. Besides the two South Indian languages channels, BARC’s weekly list normally had at least one channel from the Hindi movies genre in the past. During important sports events such as the Indian Premier League or IPL, at least one Hindi channel that aired sports was also present in BARC’s across genres lists.

    The same channels that were present in BARC’s across genres weekly list in week 40 were present in the week 41 of 2018 list, but with a change in order of ranking. Like last week, from the network’s perspective, there were four channels from Star India, two channels each from SPN and Zeel and one channel each from the Sun TV Network and Viacom18.

    Viacom18’s flagship Hindi GEC Colors also dropped down a rank to tenth place in week 41 of 2018 with 602.469 million weekly impressions as compared to 637.777 million weekly impressions and seventh rank in week 40. Colors was ranked eighth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), fourth in HSM (U) and tenth in HSM (R). The third season of the Balaji Telefilms produced supernatural drama Naagin 3  aired on Colors was among BARC’s top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U).

    BENGALURU: Star India’s free to air (FTA) Hindi GEC Star Utsav was ranked second in Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) weekly list of top 10 channels across genres for week 40 of 2018 (Saturday, 29 September 2018 to Friday, 5 October 2018, week under review). Star Utsav was preceded by the Sun TV Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV which was at first rank. After quite a long while, there were no Hindi movies channels in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 channels across genres during the week under review. Also all the flagship Hindi GEC channels of the four major networks – Star India, Sony Pictures Network India (SPN), Viacom18 and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) were present in BARC’s across genres list for week 40 of 2018.

    Eight Hindi GECs and one channel each from the Tamil and Telugu genres were present in BARC’s weekly across genres list in week 40 of 2018. From the network’s perspective, there were four channels from Star India – something that is becoming another norm, two channels each from SPN and Zeel and one channel each from the Sun TV Network and Viacom18.

    As mentioned above, at its normal first rank in week 40 was the Tamil GEC Sun TV with 1,048.662million weekly impressions as compared to 1,020.107 million weekly impressions in week 39 of 2018. Sun TV also led BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Tamil channels in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry market and all of the 5 programmes in BARC’s list of top 5 Tamil programmes during primetime in these markets based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week under review were aired on Sun TV.

    Climbing up one rank to second place in week 40 of 2018 was Star Utsav with 841.719 million weekly impressions as compared to 743.449 million weekly impressions in week 39. Star Utsav was ranked second in BARC’s list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), second in HSM (R) and was ranked seventh in HSM (U). The soap Rabba Ve aired on Star Utsav was ranked third in BARC’s weekly in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime  based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (R).

    Dropping down a rank to third place in week 40 of 2018 was Zeel’s FTA Hindi GEC Zee Anmol with 833.614 million weekly impressions as compared to 777.386 million weekly impressions in week 39. Zee Anmol was also ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in the combined urban and rural Hindi speaking markets or HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) and was ranked ninth in HSM (U). The Balaji Telefilms produced soap Kumkum Bhagya aired on Zee Anmol was ranked fourth in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (R). Another soap from the channel, Mahek, was ranked fourth in HSM (R).

    Star India’s flagship Telugu GEC Star Maa also jumped up a rank to fourth place in week 40 of 2018 with 809.562 million weekly impressions as compared with 666.396 million weekly impressions in week 39. Star Maa was ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu channels in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana market. Five programmes that were aired on Star Maa were present in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in the same market.

    Another Star India Hindi GEC Star Bharat climbed up one place to fifth rank in week 40 of 2018 with 769.987 million weekly impressions as compared to 660.371 million weekly impressions in week 39. Star Bharat was also ranked fourth, fifth and sixth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), HSM (R) and HSM (U) respectively. The mythological drama Radhakrushna aired on Star Bharat was ranked third and fifth in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and in HSM (R) respectively.

    Star India’s flagship Hindi GEC Star Plus dropped down two places to sixth rank in week 40 of 2018. The channel scored 739.660 million impressions as compared to 710.478 million weekly impressions in the previous week. Star Plus was ranked fourth in BARC’s weekly lists of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (U) and ninth in HSM (R). Director’s Kut Productions produced Hindi soap Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai  and 4 Lion Films soap Kulfi Kumar Bajewala aired on Star Plus were present in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime  based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in HSM (U).

    Zeel’s flagship Hindi GEC Zee TV climbed up three places in week 40 of 2018 to seventh rank with 728.065 million weekly impressions as compared to 645.325 million weekly impressions and tenth rank in week 39. Zee TV was ranked seventh in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) and fourth in HSM (U) during the week. Two programmes that were aired on Zee TV- Kumkum Bhagya, and its spinoff Kundali Bhagya were at fifth and third ranks respectively in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) while Kundali Bhagya was ranked second in HSM (U).

    Retaining its previous weeks eighth rank in week 40 of 2018 was SPN’s women focused Hindi GEC Sony Pal with 690.261 million weekly impressions as compared with 650.544 million weekly impressions in the previous week. Sony Pal was ranked sixth and eighth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U) respectively and was ranked third in HSM (R).     BENGALURU: Four India channels pushed their way up in tandem at ranks three, four, five and six in Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) weekly list of Top 10 Channels Across Genres in week 39 of 2018 (Saturday, 22 September 2018 to Friday, 28 September 2018). Of the four Star India channels in the across genres list, three were Hindi GECs of which two were free to air (FTA) and one was a Telugu GEC. At its usual first rank was the Sun TV Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV followed by Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) free to air (FTA) Hindi GEC Zee Anmol at second rank.

    Seven Hindi GECs, and one channel each from the Hindi movies, Tamil GEC and Telugu GEC made it to BARC’s weekly list of top 10 channels across genres in week 39 of 2018. From the networks’ perspective, there were four channels from Star India, two channels each from Sony Pictures Network India and Zeel and one channel each from The Sun TV Network and Viacom 18.

Hindi feature films (HFF) Bahubali the Conclusion, Tarzan the Heman and Remo that featured on Sony Max were among the top 5 most watched Hindi Movies programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) for the week in BARC’s list in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U). Another HFF Sarrainodu was also in BARC’s HSM (U) list, while Bahubali the Conclusion was among the top 5 most watched HFFs in HSM (R) during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) for the week.

    Zeel’s flagship Hindi GEC Zee TV also saw a steep drop to tenth place in week 39 of 2018 with 645.325 million weekly impressions as compared to 657.866 million weekly impressions in week 37. Zee TV was ranked seventh in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs’ in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) and fourth in HSM (U) during the week.
