    Chingari collaborates with Benchmark Entertainment for 20 music videos

    Mumbai: Homegrown short-video sharing platform Chingari on Tuesday announced its partnership with Benchmark Entertainment. As a part of the deal, Chingari along with Benchmark Entertainment will be releasing 20 new songs over the next six months.

    Chingari app users will be able to get access to the new music videos that will be launched by Benchmark Entertainment. The users will be able to watch the full videos of these songs on Chingari Multiplex/Superhit Songs platform. These songs will remain on Chingari app for a period of three years, said the statement.

    “Chingari has catapulted to become one of the most successful short video apps in India as it continues to innovate and expand its offering to suit the needs of its users,” remarked Chingari app co-founder and CEO Sumit Ghosh. “We have a strong media library and are constantly working at strengthening it with exclusive, entertaining content. Our association with Benchmark Entertainment is a step in this direction.”

    Benchmark Entertainment has released thirteen blockbuster videos featuring popular names such as Karan Kundra, Shraddha Arya, Suyyash Rai, Gajendra Verma, and Ieshaan Sehgal. Their latest track “Insaaf” featuring TV actor Parth Samthaan and Samreen Kaurwas was released in conjunction with Chingari on 8 October and is already gaining in the popularity charts on the Chingari app. “Our focus is to bring together a community of people who want to do more with music and redefine ways in which content is consumed,” said Benchmark Entertainment COO Mukesh Mishra on the association.

    “This partnership will help us both to explore new opportunities & areas to foster the growth. We believe that it is an ideal platform to promote our music videos and the users of Chingari will appreciate this content,” commented Benchmark Entertainment founder Sandil Dang.

    To promote the song “Insaaf,” Chingari has also organised a contest for its users. As a part of this contest, content creators and influencers are being encouraged to make videos using the song Insaaf and the best videos in this segment stand a chance to win 20 lakh Chingari coins, said the platform.

    New Delhi: Facebook today introduced official music videos on the platform and launched a new Music destination on Facebook Watch in India, to allow people to view their favorite music videos and come together through music.

    You will now be able to discover, enjoy, and interact with today’s top-charting tracks to old catalog favorites across various music genres on Facebook.

    Manish Chopra, Director, and Head of Partnerships, Facebook India, said, “Over the past year, we have been working with partners in the Indian music industry to build the foundation of a music video experience for our consumers, and are thrilled to launch official music videos on the platform. We will continue to find opportunities to add more unique social sharing experiences and bring music into the ways people share and connect on Facebook".

    Official music videos on Facebook will create new social experiences that go beyond just watching the video. On Facebook, you will be able to discover new artists and tracks through social sharing, clicking through to a song [from a Music Sticker / Music Video] shared to a friend’s story or a post in News Feed. Without leaving Facebook, you can connect with and learn more about an artist and their creative ambitions, watch the story behind their music on their Page, a label page  and connect through real-time interactions on Facebook Live.

    The music video experience on Facebook is available in India, Thailand, and the US, and you’ll be able to watch your favorites from the country’s top music labels – T -Series Music, Zee Music Company, and Yash Raj Films.

    How to access Music Videos on Facebook:

    Facebook has made it easier to find and discover music videos on its platform. You can access the videos in different ways, including:

    Music Destination on Facebook Watch where you can explore music videos by genre, artist, or mood, as well as theme-based playlists like “Top Bollywood”, “Top Artists,” among others. The music destination on Facebook Watch is available on iOS and Android mobile devices and will be available on desktop soon.

    You can also access and discover music videos directly on your News Feed allowing friends and family to share their favorite music, or through Search.

    YouTube deletes Japanese videos

    MUMBAI: Video content sharing site YouTube has deleted nearly 30,000 files over copyright concerns after being asked to do so by a group representing Japan’s entertainment industry,

    Media reports state that the Japan Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers found 29,549 video clips such as television shows, music videos and movies posted on YouTube’s site without permission.

    Yotube now shows more than 100 million video clips per day. YouTube’s worldwide audience was 72.1 million by August, up 2.8 million from a year earlier, according to comScore Media Metrix.
