  • Sony adds 2 associate sponsors for Indian Idol

    MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Television (Set) has roped in two more associate sponsors for its popular singing reality show, Indian Idol, that airs from 1 June.

    Nissan Motors and Ambuja Cement add to the list of associate sponsors that include Flipkart.com, TVS Tyres, Vivel, Max New York Life Insurance, Amul Macho, Sunsilk and Suzuki Motorcycle. Close Up is the presenting sponsor of the show while it is powered by MTS.

    The ad inventory for the 26-episode weekend property is almost running full. Indian Idol will air at 8.30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

    MSM president network sales, licensing and telephony Rohit Gupta told Indiantelevision.com that only few slots are available for advertisers. “We will be selling that soon,” he added.

    Indiantelevision.com earlier reported that Set is targeting advertising revenue of Rs 900 million from the sixth edition of the Indian Idol.

    The show will be hosted by Hussain and Mini Mathur.

    MTS ropes in Imran Khan as brand ambassador

    MUMBAI: Telecom brand MTS has signed Bollywood icon Imran Khan as its brand ambassador. The deal was facilitated by Kwan Entertainment.

    Sistema Shyam TeleServices, which operates MTS brand, and Khan have entered into a multiyear contract and the actor will play an integral part across all MTS‘ forthcoming campaigns.

    MTS India chief marketing and sales officer Leonid Musatov said, “Brand MTS is all about experimenting and doing things differently. When we cross mapped these attributes, Imran came across as a clear choice. Both believe in challenging the norm and being a ‘Step Ahead‘ when it comes to their appeal amongst the youth.”

    Khan said, “What drew me towards a global brand like MTS was its energy and its desire to connect and engage with people specially the youth. Given the times we live in, a national telecom operator like MTS is also a big unifier, connecting the nook and corners of our country. I am delighted to come on board and be a part of the same journey.”

    MTS plans to leverage Khan‘s association through mass media, online space and a range of on ground initiatives across all its key markets. The brand will offer an array of voice and data solutions to its customers including youth. This includes smart devices and MBlaze dongles through prepaid and postpaid plans. To further strengthen its engagement with the youth, MTS has rolled out ‘Red Energy‘ a youth outreach program. Khan is expected to be a part of this program.

    MTS launches initiative to engage female customers across WB

    MUMBAI: Mobile and Internet services provider MTS has launched a new initiative – ‘MTS Saheli‘ -to engage and connect with female customers across West Bengal.

    The move is aimed to provide a range of telecom services to women customers, right at their doorstep by reaching out through an air-conditioned bus. The bus will be traveling through 30 towns across West Bengal in 45 days.

    The initiative will be led by female staff right from steering of the bus to demonstrating the range of mobile handsets, along with providing information about mobile plans offered by MTS. 
     
    MTS India COO Kolkata and West Bengal circle Keshhav Tiwary said, “MTS Saheli, as the name suggests, aims to be a dear friend and companion to our women customers, be it professionals or homemakers alike and make them feel special and privileged. Women customers form a substantial chunk of our total subscriber base. MTS Saheli initiative is our endeavour to reach out to female customers who are keen on joining the MTS family.”

    MTS Saheli will also advise female customers about health and wellness tips by providing access to female physicians and beauty experts.

    All female customers coming to the MTS Saheli Bus will also get freebies and discounts on every new mobile connection and recharge done by them.

    Based on the learnings, company plans to roll out the initiative nationally.
