    Anil Kapur Joins MoneyGram as Head of Asia Pacific and South Asia

    MUMBAI: MoneyGram (NASDAQ: MGI), a global provider of innovative money transfer and payment services, today announced that industry veteran Anil Kapur has joined the company as head of Asia Pacific and South Asia.

    “We are happy to welcome Anil to the MoneyGram team,” said Grant Lines, Chief Revenue Officer at MoneyGram. “He is well known throughout the industry for his organizational proficiency and ability to establish third-party partnerships that help drive growth. His leadership will be invaluable as we continue to expand our reach in the Asia Pacific and South Asia markets.”

    A widely recognized business leader in India, Kapur brings more than 28 years of experience in financial services across retail banking, remittances and digital payment sectors. He comes from Wirecard, a global Internet technology and financial services provider, where he served as the company’s director for India. He played a pivotal role in driving company revenue by diversifying the business and its product lines.

    Prior to Wirecard, Kapur worked for Western Union as managing director for India, South Asia and South-East Asia where he was instrumental in setting up business throughout the region. Under his leadership, he built a significant and robust network of agent locations spread across the geography of India, which became the largest distribution portfolio for Western Union globally.

    Kapur’s talents have also been sought after as the founder of InTandem Advisors, a remittance consulting and advisory firm where he provided consultancy services for fintech players, payments banks and global organizations. He brings this vast experience to MoneyGram and will provide valuable insight as a member of the regional leadership team.

    MUMBAI: MoneyGram, a global provider of innovative money transfer services, has announced the ‘Vaisakhi 2017’ campaign in the presence of Harbhajan Singh, famous Indian cricketer. With the campaign, MoneyGram aims to create excitement among its customers in Punjab and bring joy to their Vaisakhi celebrations.

    “Punjab has always been one of our key markets and we come back each year to be a part of this celebration and wish all our consumers a wonderful Vaisakhi. This year we have prepared something special and nothing is more exciting than the chance to win a dream bike,” said Sheshagiri Malliah (Sukesh), head of India and sub-continent at MoneyGram. “We understand the bond between families that work so hard to bring a smile on the faces of their loved ones back home.     The campaign will last for a month and is designed for customers receiving money in Punjab who will have a chance to win 10 LED TVs, 50 smartphones and grand bumper prize- three Royal Enfield bikes signed by the spinner himself. To promote this campaign, MoneyGram will also run a ‘Spot & Win Contest.’ Customers who spot the signed bike in Punjab and send an SMS with the code to 56677 will participate in the draw to win a smartphone every day.

    ICC names MoneyGram as event partner for eight years

    MUMBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has brought on board MoneyGram International as event partner for ICC events for a period of eight years from 2016 – 2023.

    The ICC and MoneyGram recently completed a successful five-year partnership, which began with the ICC World Twenty20 West Indies 2010, concluding with the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.

    In the current eight-year cycle, the ICC will stage 17 tournaments, including six majors – two ICC World Twenty20 tournaments, two editions of the ICC Champions Trophy and two ICC Cricket World Cups.

    ICC chief executive David Richardson said, “I am delighted that MoneyGram International has decided to continue to support cricket by extending its partnership with the ICC. The extension says much about the value of our events at which we continue to strive to create an unforgettable experience for fans from all around the world. Sponsors are the lifeline for any sport and on behalf of the ICC, I thank MoneyGram for their continued support.”

    ICC Cricket World Cup trophy gets set to travel across India

    MUMBAI: Money transfer and payments services company, MoneyGram has launched the ‘ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy Tour’, which promises to provide many Indians around the country a chance to catch a glimpse of the ICC Cricket World Cup trophy.

     

    MoneyGram South Asia senior regional director Kaushik Roy said, “This is an exciting endeavour to bring people across the nation one step closer to realising the dream of bringing home the cricket World Cup! We are sure cricket fans will love the experience.”

     

    The tour will travel to six cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, New Delhi, Jalandhar and Ahmedabad from 2 to 7 December 2014. The trophy reached Mumbai first, and was displayed at Mumbai’s Smaash, followed by a consumer display at High Street Phoenix Mall. It will now travel to Hyderabad, visiting the Inorbit Mall to thrill fans in the city and conduct an NGO activity there. From Hyderabad, the tour will arrive at its third stop in Bengaluru, and be displayed at Mantri Mall. After Bengaluru, the trophy will travel up north to New Delhi’s DLF Place Mall Saket, where models will take part in a fashion show showcasing the teams participating in the World Cup 2015 including India. The next stop will be in Jalandhar at MBD Neopolis Mall and the final stop will be at Alpha One in Ahmedabad.

     

    Each venue will provide fans to get a glimpse and click a photograph with the trophy. Also, fans can win themselves goodies and enjoy the interactions with cricket stars live in action.

     

  • Zee TV to replace DID lil Masters with ‘Dance Ke Superkids’

    MUMBAI: Riding on the success of the just concluded ‘DID lil Masters 2‘, Zee TV has sold out all the ad inventories for the succeeding show at 9 pm, ‘Dance Ke Superkids‘.

    Hindustan Unilever‘s Knorr, title sponsor of the mega show ‘DID lil Masters 2‘, will continue this arrangement with the new show.

    Zee TV has got Moneygram and Visa on board as associate sponsors.

    Zeel chief sales officer Ashish Sehgal said, “All our inventories have been sold out for Dance Ke Superkids because of the success of DID lil Masters 2.”

    ‘Dance Ke Superkids‘ will hope to cash in on the popularity of ‘DID lil Masters 2‘, the finale episode of which helped the channel be No.1 in the Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) space for the week ended 18 August.

    ‘Dance Ke Superkids‘ is a challenge between the finalists of DID lil Masters 1 and 2. It is the next leg of the property DID lil Masters.

    Starting 25 August, the five-week series will air every Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm.

    ‘Dance Ke Superkids‘ will pave the way for another mega reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma, that launches in September-end at the same time slot.

    From 7 September, this new show from Zee TV will compete with Sony Entertainment Television‘s Amitabh Bachchan-hosted game show Kaun Banega Crorepati season 6.

    Dance Ke Superkids will be hosted by Jay Bhanushali and Shreya Acharya. It will have Geeta Kapur and Farah Khan as judges.
