    Mohit Hira appointed as IBT Media President & Country Head of India

    MUMBAI: IBT Media India has appointed Mohit Hira as President & Country Head of its India operations.

    IBT Media’s Indian edition (www.ibtimes.co.in) is headquarted in Bengaluru and led by Chandra Mohan, Managing Director, has been operational since 2011.

    “Hira’s mandate is to create a brand out of a well-built product with market-facing initiatives and content reinforcement” added Mohan. The site claims that it is engineered by IB Times’ global team, and has seen rapid growth in recent years. It is also well supported by advertisers. Apart from business news, technology, entertainment, sports and politics from India and the world constitute the news lineup in the India edition.

Hira was also responsible for re launching Open’s website, strengthening its sales team and repositioning the brand.Before joining Open, he was CEO at Hungama Digital Services (HDS) and Digital Head at J. Walter Thompson India, as well as Regional Business Head on the Airtel account. Hira had joined JWT from NIIT, where he was President of its B2C global online learning business that he had started. He was also the Chief Marketing Officer for NIIT’s retail individual training businesses and helped in the founding years of the NIIT University.

    As Director-Times Internet Ltd where he was the brand custodian for the group’s website, www.indiatimes.com, he was responsible for incubation, marketing and usability of its portals.Before this, he was the Brand Head of The Economic Times (Delhi) and Navbharat Times at Bennett Coleman. Originally, a copywriter at Contract Advertising’s Kolkata office, Mohit Hira grew to take charge first as Creative Director and then the head of its Kolkata and Delhi offices.

    An English (Hons.) graduate of Jadavpur University, Kolkata, Mohit is also an alumnus of Executive Development Programmes at ISB Hyderabad, IIM Ahmedabad and INSEAD Singapore where he was nominated to the Google Academy.

    He will continue to be based in Delhi NCR and will work closely with the India and EMEA Managing Directors of IB Times.

    Hungama Digital Services appoints Mohit Hira as CEO

    MUMBAI: JWT south Asia has announced the appointment of Mohit Hira as the CEO of Hungama Digital Services (HDS).

     

    Mohit, who joined JWT in November 2012, has been overseeing JWT Group’s digital initiatives over the past eight months; in addition to his role as the business lead on Airtel. Given JWT’s increased focus on digital, he will now assume leadership of digital. As part of this, Mohit will be overseeing the entire operations of HDS and JWT Digital, thereby ensuring seamless integration of the two to offer truly integrated digital solutions to all HDS and JWT clients.

     

    “Mohit is well poised to take on this role, given his proficiency in creative, content and strategic planning along with his experience as a brand custodian.  With his strong creative and digital capabilities Mohit will be leading one of India’s highly awarded digital agencies that will continue to live up to being a ‘single source’ partner for our clients across all their digital platforms,” said JWT south Asia CEO Colvyn Harris.

     

    Mohit is an advertising creative director turned netvangelist, with a career spanning over two decades with rich and diverse experience across advertising, marketing, journalism and digital media. He was recently nominated to the Impact India Digital Power 100 List and has also been on the IBM-Paul Writer list of Top 50 CMOs earlier.

     

    On his new role, Mohit said, “I have been working closely with the team at Hungama Digital in the past few months and the opportunity of leading an extremely talented and committed team there was irresistible.     JWT acquired a majority stake in HDS in May 2012 to offer to its clients a full services digital agency specialising in digital marketing and social media solutions. As part of the acquisition, Hungama’s activations arm, Hungama Promo Marketing also merged with HDS to provide an engagement platform linked to online and offline deliveries.

  • JWT elevates Mohit Hira to head digital ops

    Mumbai: JWT India has elevated Mohit Hira to head of its digital operations and he will be responsible for managing and growing JWT’s digital offering to clients across all markets in addition to his current responsibilities on Airtel.

    He had joined JWT India last year as SVP and regional business director in Delhi.

    Meanwhile, the current digital head at JWT India Max Hegerman is moving on to pursue other opportunities.

    “As the new head of JWT Digital, he brings in long-term brand-building with rich digital experience, both online and offline. This, along with the ability to tap a rich eco-system of partners, like Hungama Digital Services and a global network that will bring the best of class for a client’s digital ambitions gives JWT Digital a unique advantage,” the company said.

    Hira has over 26 years of experience in advertising, marketing, print and digital media. He had joined JWT from NIIT, where he was the President of the B2C global online learning business that he started. He was also the chief marketing officer for their retail individual training businesses and the NIIT University.

  • JWT appoints Mohit Hira as SVP & regional biz director

    Mumbai: JWT India has appointed Mohit Hira as SVP and regional business director. He will be based in Delhi.

    Hira has joined from NIIT where he was the chief marketing officer for their retail individual training businesses and the recently launched NIIT University.

    JWT South Asia CEO Colvyn Harris said, “Mohit’s proficiency in creative, content and strategic planning skills and his experience as a brand custodian will work towards creating a great value proposition for our clients. His strong creative and digital capabilities make Mohit a great asset for JWT.”

    Hira brings with him 26 years of diverse experience in advertising, marketing, print and digital media. He has also worked with The Times of India Group with ET and Navbharat Times and later went on to become the director of Times Internet.

    Before joining the corporate world, he was with Contract Advertising (Kolkata and Delhi) and DDB Needham (Oman) where he had creative, account planning and business responsibilities.
