    TV9 Marathi to host inaugural Maha-Infra Conclave on 22 Feb

    Mumbai: TV9 Marathi is all set to host the inaugural Maha-Infra Conclave on 22 February. The conclave will highlight the key role infrastructure plays in aiding economic growth, while also addressing the state of infrastructure in Maharashtra and how it can drive growth for the region, ultimately helping in nation building.

    The event will be inaugurated by Maharashtra minister for urban development & public works (public undertaking) Eknath Shinde. Along with him, Subhash Desai (minister for industries & mining, Maharashtra), and Aditya Thackeray (minister for tourism & environment, Maharashtra) will also address the event and share their vision on how infrastructure development projects will fuel growth for the industry and tourism sector in the state.

    The policy push for mega infrastructure projects has opened several opportunities for the state. The conclave will provide a platform that will bring key policy makers and private sector leaders to draw an actionable agenda while articulating the positive impact these infra-development projects will have on the people of Maharashtra.

    The conclave will have the following sessions on various development projects in Mumbai metropolitan region (MMR) and rest of Maharashtra.

    World-class MMR – Focusing on infrastructure development in MMR region:  With mega projects like Mumbai Metro, Mumbai Coastal Road, Mumbai Trans Harbour Link and many others in action, the MMR region is set to witness a transformation in the way people travel across the city.

    Connecting Maharashtra – Connecting rural with urban via infrastructure: Large-scale projects like the Mumbai-Nagpur Prosperity Corridor will pave way for the development of industry, and tourism while generating employment and connecting the urban and rural areas.

    ‘Hith Maharashtracha’ – Impact of Infrastructural growth on development in various sectors

    Given the multiple road, rail and sea transportation projects being undertaken across the city, the Conclave will witness the presence of different government and private stakeholders, who will come together to highlight the importance of these projects, as well as the time-line for their completion and inauguration for public use.

    Cineline India acquires 27 additional screens, tally reaches 75

    Mumbai: Cineline India on Wednesday announced its acquisition of 27 additional screens on a lease basis, taking its overall tally to 75.  These include nine theatres in Uttar Pradesh, six in Rajasthan, five in Noida, five in Gujarat and two in Maharashtra. Together, they will have an aggregate seating capacity of more than 5,500 seats.

    Cineline’s current footprint now extends to 75 screens, and over 16500 seats in 14 cities. The company will continue to grow its film exhibition business aggressively in due course of time by acquiring theatre properties Pan India.

    Cineline India, part of MMRDA region-based real estate player Kanakia Group, re-entered the film exhibition business in December 2021.

    The company was present in the film exhibition business through its Cinemax brand since 1997. In 2012, it sold the multiplex business along with the Cinemax brand to PVR Ltd under a non-compete clause that has ended. The business will be relaunched under a new brand in Q1 FY23.

     

    “We are delighted to announce the tie-up of additional 27 screens Pan India. With this, we have tied up with 75 screens and over 16,500 seats in total,” said chairman Rakesh Kanakia. “We are seeing a huge opportunity for organised players to increase their foothold and plan to create a strong consumer-oriented brand in this segment.”

    “Over the next few months, we will continue to acquire additional screens Pan India. There is a strong pipeline of movies coming up and we see a huge opportunity to grow exponentially in this space,” he further said.

    CN award honours ‘toon’ characters

    MUMBAI: It was a night of entertainment, humour, excitement and celebration of cartoon legacy. It was also the night of mesmerising performances, laugh-out-loud gags and cartoon mega stars entertaining over 8,000 kids and parents. The occasion was the first edition of ‘Cartoon Network Super Toons Awards,’ held at MMRDA grounds, Mumbai on 8 December.

    This first of its kind award show for cartoons, ‘Cartoon Network Super Toons’ gave children the opportunity to vote for their favourite characters, shows, gags and other iconic moments from Cartoon Network. The winners were chosen after a month long on-air, digital and on-ground (via School Contact Programmes and road shows) campaign. It was during this that the kids were asked to log onto www.cartoonnetworkindia.com and vote across categories.

     

    The ‘Cartoon Network Super Toons Award’ categories underlined the traits of the toons that make them popular with the children. Therefore, categories like Badmaash Toon, Biggest Dhamaka, Bhukkad Award, Ha Ha He He Award, Dumb Dumb Award, etc. were included in the list of awards. The biggest award for the evening was ‘CN Super Toon of the Year’ and was jointly won by Ben 10 and Kris.

    MUMBAI: Fever 104 FM is the official radio partner for “The Roger Waters Concert” in Mumbai. Roger Waters will be performing in Mumbai on 18 February at the MMRDA grounds.

    As part of the promotional activity, the FM will play rock hits from the band and also give out passes to the concert. The grand prize of course is an opportunity to meet the rock icon in person.

    George Roger Waters is best known for his 1965-1985 career with the band Pink Floyd as their main songwriter, bass player and vocalist. He is the sole writer of Pink Floyd’s two most successful singles, Money and Another Brick in the Wall-Part II. Following his break up from the band in 2005, he released an opera, Ça Ira and rejoined Pink Floyd at the Live 8 concert in London, for their first public performance together in 24 years.

    Indian telecom and broadband take centre-stage at CII event

    MUMBAI: Telecom and broadband will be taking a centre-stage at Telecom and Broadband Summit and Expo 2006, organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at the MMRDA Grounds, Mumbai on 23 and 24 November.

    This year’s theme is: India – The emerging telecom hub.

    The event has been planned to be a platform bringing together the entire telecom and broadband industry under one floor, as they display some of their technologies, discuss the business opportunities explored and unfold the current issues and future challenges in the sector. The event will have three main sections: the exhibition, the summit and the CEO’s round table, asserts an official release.

    The exhibition will focus on the growth of broadband connectivity and other new technologies in areas such as cellular technology, wireless network, broadcasting, etc, as well as their impact on this emerging market that is rapidly growing in global significance. The event emphasises on the impact of emerging technologies in the real life business environment.
