    McDonald’s India announces partnership with ‘Minions: The Rise of Gru’

    Mumbai: Ahead of the theatrical release of the new Illumination film, ‘Minions: The Rise of Gru’ (in theatres 1 July 2022), fast food chain McDonald’s India West and South – owned and operated by Westlife Development — has just introduced new Minion-themed banana desserts and milkshake that fans of the franchise are sure to love. You can now choose from a range of Minions-themed banana caramel desserts, including banana caramel flurry, banana caramel sundae, and the banana caramel milkshake at any McDonald’s restaurant in West and South India.

    Speaking on the launch of the new ‘Minions’-themed desserts and milkshakes at McDonald’s, the company’s India West and South marketing and communications director Arvind RP said, “Movies and McDonald’s are best enjoyed with family and friends. Through the launch of these new Minions-themed products on our menu, we want to give our consumers, especially the tens of millions of Minions fans, one more reason to make McDonald’s their preferred choice for all things fun and memorable.  We hope all our consumers make the most of this limited time offering across our restaurants in West and South India.”

    The new ‘Minions’-themed products are available for dine-in at McDonald’s and through delivery, takeout, drive-thru, and on the go on the McDelivery app. Customers can also enjoy various offers on these products on the McDonald’s app.

    MUMBAI: McDonald’s has announced that it is introducing ‘the largest-ever collection of minions toys’ across its north and east India outlets, starting 2 July.

    With every purchase of a McDonald’s Happy Meal, customers will receive a minion collectible packed in a capsule available in 36 different designs. Select minions will have a special golden collectible, the brand said. To celebrate the minions’ favorite food, “BA-NA-NA,” customers can enjoy a variety of banana flavoured across the range of minions-special desserts in a limited time offer, it added.

    “Minions are likable, enigmatic, and most importantly relevant given their global mass appeal. We are excited to bring fun and excitement this summer to our guests. We are sure that the minions range of toys and the minions-special menu items will provide an ultimate fun experience to our esteemed customers,” said McDonald’s India – north and east chief operating officer Rajeev Ranjan. Connaught Plaza Restaurants Pvt. Ltd. operates McDonald’s restaurants in north and east India.

    The customers will be able to order the new offerings through the McDonald’s App, in-store, at the drive-thru’s, or via McDelivery.

    MSM inks multi-year film content deal with NBCUniversal for Pix

    MUMBAI: Multi Screen Media (MSM) has entered into a multi-year content partnership with NBC Universal International Distribution.

     

    As a result of this agreement, MSM’s English movie channel Sony Pix will now have access to Universal Pictures’ new US theatrical release. 

     

    Multi Screen Media CEO NP Singh said, “We always strive to get top quality content for our viewers. With access to Universal’s movie titles, we have put ourselves in a position to get the best movies that Hollywood has to offer. I am confident that with this deal, viewer needs will be well-met and their enhanced movie experience will steadily increase viewer loyalty to Sony Pix – our English movie channel.”

     

    NBC Universal has had a landmark year in 2015 and is the first studio ever to have three films namely Minions, Jurassic World and Fast & Furious 7 each cross over the $1 billion mark in the worldwide box office in a single year.

     

    The studio also recently passed the $5.53 billion mark at the worldwide box office, breaking the record for highest-grossing year – ever – for a studio in industry history. The current worldwide total to date is an unprecedented $6.38 billion.

     

    This strategic multi-year deal will give Sony Pix access to Universal’s latest movie releases such as Fast & Furious 7, Jurassic World, Ted 2, Pitch Perfect 2 and Illumination Entertainment’s Minions, as well as the first installment in the studio’s various blockbuster franchises such as Jurassic Park, The Mummy, The Fast & Furious, The Hulk and Despicable Me.

     

    Sony Pix will also provide viewers with access to other hit films from the studio such as Gladiator, the first three films in the Rambo franchise, King Kong, Schindler’s List, Ted and Notting Hill amongst others.

    MUMBAI: India’s homegrown superhero Krrish is making leaps and bounds and attaining a cult status across the board with his exciting and engaging promotions for the forthcoming film Krrish 3. The latest is the collection of Facebook Stickers, a special set of emoticons which will make chatting with friends on Facebook even more fun. This is part of the digital marketing campaign for Krrish 3 spearheaded by Hungama Digital Media Entertainment. The Krrish characters join a league of international favorites including the ‘Minions’ from Despicable Me 2 and ‘Snoopy’ from Peanuts.

     

    The Krrish 3 stickers include common expressions and activities people use every day like happy, sad, drinking coffee, working late or partying with friends. Each emotion has been created with one of the three central characters – Krrish (HrithikRoshan), Kaya (KanganaRanaut) and Kaal (Vivek Oberoi).     Sandra Bullock to play Scarlet Overkill in Minions

    MUMBAI: Sandra Bullock is all set to voice villain Scarlet Overkill in Universal Pictures‘ animated spin-off of 2010 film Despicable Me titled Minions that follows the yellow henchmen from Despicable Me on their quest for a new leader in the 1960s.

    The actress will play the evil antagonist Scarlet Overkill, who is described as “Audrey Hepburn-like” and driven by world domination.

    The film will establish the history of the yellow henchmen who have existed since the beginning of time and follow their journey in the 1960s to find a new evil master after they have destroyed all of the bad guys who were previously a threat.

    Minions is to be directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balfa and produced by Janet Healy and Chris Meledandri with Chris Renaud serving as executive producer.

    The film has been scheduled for a December 2014 release.

    Incidentally, this July will see the release of Despicable Me 2 that stars Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Julie Andrews and Will Arnett returning to voice their characters. New additions that have been added include Steve Carrell, Kristen Wiig and Al Pacino.
