    IOS Sports & Entertainment bags marketing rights for documentary on Sachin

    MUMBAI: 200 Not Out, the producers of the film on Sachin Tendulkar, have appointed sports and entertainment group – IOS Sports & Entertainment, as the exclusive marketing agency for the docu-feature.

     

    The film will capture the life of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. IOS will be the central agency for all brand associations for in-film and out-of-film promotions.

     

    The documentary on the legend, to be directed by renowned James Erskine, will capture the phenomenal rise of Tendulkar and will be released worldwide in both English and Hindi languages.

     

    This will also be the first instance in the cricketing world when an icon of this stature will be captured through a film. This film also marks Tendulkar being the first Asian to join the list of personalities like Michael Jackson and Ayrton Senna, whose lives have been captured in documentary for theatrical releases.

     

    200 Not Out founder Ravi Bhagchandka said, “We are very delighted to have IOS Sports & Entertainment on board for the project. It is a very special project for us and we are sure they will add immense value to same with their marketing expertise in sports and entertainment sector.”

     

    IOS Sports & Entertainment managing director & CEO Neerav Tomar said that his company was proud that its efforts are being recognised. “We are excited to acquire the exclusive marketing rights for the film and have the opportunity to be a part of a film, which revolves around the Master Blaster. We are confident of living up to the expectations of the Film,” he said.

     

    Earlier, IOS Sports & Entertainment worked in a similar capacity with Bhansali Productions & Viacom 18 Motion Pictures for its film Mary Kom. IOS Sports & Entertainment gave the rights of making the film to the production house and then worked closely from scripting stage to the release of the film.

    Sony Music collaborates with A.R Rahman’s K M Conservatory to create tracks from ‘XSCAPE’

    MUMBAI: Music industry giant Sony Music has collaborated with musician A. R. Rahman’s K M Conservatory music school to create cover versions of two songs from the King of Pop, Michael Jackson’s new music from the album ‘XSCAPE’. It is for the first time in India that official versions of Michael Jackson’s songs will be released giving his music an India feel.  

     

    Two official song versions of the single Love Never Felt So Good and Slave to the Rhythm will be available for download and streaming by the third week of June. The project within a week of its release is number one on iTunes India and across all other major streaming platforms.

     

    Commenting on the association, KM executive director Fathima Rafiq said, “It is a wonderful opportunity for KM to be creating Indian-influenced covers of these tracks from such a legendary musician. We hope to capture the spirit and essence of Michael Jackson’s music and infuse them with elements from different Indian traditions to make new musical masterpieces showing homage to his legacy.”

     

    KM academic coordinator Adam Greig added, ‘Although KM primarily teaches western and Indian classical music, working on MJ’s music demonstrates how connected popular music is with its classical past tradition. The students are relishing the chance to prove their mastery of these skills in re-working these tracks. I find it amazing how easily and naturally the Indian elements blend into the mix.”

    Sony Music Jive claims to be most downloaded app

    MUMBAI: Sony Music Jive has claimed to be the most downloaded and accepted app. The app, launched six months back, was created for making legitimate music easy to use for customers. Launched by Sony Music India, the app is also a part of the Sony Xperia range of handsets and the new Sony Vaio range of laptops.

    Sony Music Jive allows consumers to download and stream unlimited music for free for a period of six months after which the consumer has to pay a nominal monthly fee.

    Sony Music Jive president India and Middle East Shridhar Subramaniam said, “Sony Music Jive is our foray into directly engaging with consumer by offering them a unique and compelling digital music proposition. It has been more than six months since the service was launched and we have been very encouraged by the consumer response. As a brand, we have been doing a number of digital innovations and the launch of this new hybrid application is another such.”

     The users can browse through over two million songs across multiple genres -pop, rock, reggae, hip hop, country, classical, dance, Indian regional, Bollywood and download to create a playlist or just listen on the go.  Sony Music Jive has access to iconic Bollywood soundtracks – Lagaan, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Guru , Kal Ho Na Ho, Rang De Basanti, Dostana, Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gam, Jannat, Student of the Year, Agneepath, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Raanjhaana to 100 years of international music ranging from iconic and pop artists such as Elvis Presley, Bruce Springsteen, Whitney Houston, Aerosmith, Bob Dylan, Micheal Jackson, Santana, AR Rahman, Shakira, Beyonce, Keisha, Pitbull to pop stars like KK, Lucky Ali, Strings, Daler Mehendi, Harris Jayraj, Kailash Kher and more. 

    The app plans to be available across operating systems and integrated with operators for all consumers to have access to this service.
