    Delhi Advertising Club announces Excellence in Advertising Awards 2014

    MUMBAI: In the recent past, many have acknowledged the fact that Delhi has established itself as a major advertising hub.

     

    And to celebrate the most outstanding media initiatives of the year gone by were recognised and awarded at the Delhi Advertising Club – Excellence in Advertising Awards 2014.

     

    17 agencies received 40 DAC Excellence in Advertising Awards. The Agency of the Year Award was bagged by Innocean Worldwide India, whereas Campaign of the Year Award went to McCann, New Delhi.

     

    Delhi Advertising Club president HS Paul said, “Delhi is gradually emerging as the Advertising Capital of India with major companies being headquartered in Delhi & NCR besides the government advertising body like DAVP. According to industry estimates, if advertisers spend around Rs 30,000 crore in India, alone Delhi/NCR contributes to roughly 40 per cent, with release orders to the tune of around Rs 12,000 crore being signed out of Delhi.”

     

    He further added that, “Delhi Advertising Club’s Excellence in Advertising Awards” since its inception in 1991 is an endeavor to recognise the efforts and accomplishments of teams and individuals from the advertising  fraternity here. These awards are not only a matter of honour for creative excellence, but have received tremendous support from media marketers and advertisers as well. I am very much pleased with the support received from the industry and would like to thank all partners, sponsors of trophies, Jury members, board members and ordinary members of Delhi Advertising Club for making the DAC Awards a great success.”

     

    More than 500 executives from advertising world attended the ceremony and awards for 20 categories were presented to the winners selected by the jury out of 228 entries received from various advertising agencies of Delhi and NCR. Award winning Ad-Agencies are: Airads, Adsyndicate, Adman, Bubna, Crayons, Catalyst, Cytomed (Alkem), Graphisads, Havas, Interads, Infinity, Innocean, Linen (Lintas), McCann, Mode, Niyati & Span.

     

    At the ceremony , Delhi Advertising Club founder and past president  Late Dr.Vishwanath was given Lifetime Achievement award which was collected by his son Interads Advertising  MD Anil Sharma from DAC chief Patron VK Chopra.

    AdFest 2014: India brings home 26 metals

    MUMBAI:  At  the Adfest 2014 held at Pattaya in Thailand from 6-8 March, Indian agencies won a total of 26 metals, eight less than last year.

     

    This year, McCann Erikson led the charge with 11 medals, of which three are Gold, five are Silver and three are Bronze.

     

    JWT India and Grey Worldwide followed winning four metals each. Next are TBWAIndia and Creativeland Asia with two metals each and BBDO India, Taproot India and Linen-A Lintas Group with one each.

     

    The most-award winning campaign by McCann was Audiobook – the William Shakespeare/Mark Twain/Oscar Wilde campaign, which received two Golds in the Print Craft Lotus category for Art direction and Best use of illustration; and for Point of Sale: small scale sub category in the Design Lotus category. The campaign also picked up Silvers in Point of Purchase – Display sub category in Outdoor; Poster sub category under Design Lotus and Best Use of Computer Generated Imagery under Print Craft Lotus. In addition to this, it also took home bronze awards in the Press Lotus category under Best of Communication Media & Publications sub category, and Best of Travel, Entertainment & Communication Media sub category in the Outdoor Lotus category.

     

    Apart from this, McCann won a Silver each for its AIDS Awareness campaign under Media Lotus and Big Babol campaign in Best of food sub category under Outdoor. And, it won a Bronze for Rain catching Adshel campaign for Catchtherain.org in the Outdoor category.

     

    Nike’s Parallel Journey’s campaign helped JWT India stuck Gold under Best of sports, fashion cosmetics and luxury goods sub head in Film Lotus. The campaign also got two Silvers in the Film Craft Lotus category. The Health Capital campaign for Rotract Club of Mumbai Shivaji Park in the Direct Lotus category got the agency its single Bronze.

     

    Grey Worldwide picked up a Gold and a Bronze for Duracell Positive & Negative: Dock/Monkey campaign in the Press Lotus and Outdoor Lotus categories, respectively. For another Duracell campaign called Ageless Wonder: Music/Man/Woman the agency was awarded Silver in the Press and Print Craft categories.

     

    Creativeland Asia’s campaign for Frooti helped the agency grab Gold in the Original music score sub category and Bronze for direction under Film Craft Lotus.

     

    TBWAIndia won two Bronze medals for its Adidas Wall cricket campaign under External/street signs and street furniture and Guerrilla marketing sub categories in Outdoor Lotus.

     

    Taproot India’s Times of India’s farmer suicide campaign secured finalists berth in many categories but was only able to win Silver in the Outdoor Lotus category.

     

    BBDO was awarded Bronze for a public awareness campaign Stick It Art under Best use of ambient: small scale sub category in the Media Lotus category.

     

    Lastly, Linen-A Lintas Group was the only Indian agency to get a bronze in the Radio category.

    McCann Worldgroup India announces key creative leadership

    MUMBAI: McCann Worldgroup has announced key senior creative leadership changes: promotions, and inclusion of senior level talent, for its India operations.

     

    Pradyumna Chauhan and Prateek Bhardwaj have been assigned the position of joint National Creative Directors. Both will report to McCann Worldgroup executive chairman and CEO and south Asia president Prasoon Joshi.

     

    Announcing the changes, Joshi said, “As an agency we are committed to our clients’ business and do everything possible to bring the best and most cutting-edge talent onboard. These are carefully selected professionals in whom I have great faithand high expectations. I am positive that they will further enhance our creative product and add yet another dimension to the McCann offering.”

     

    Chauhan has been with McCann for a year, and comes with over a decade and a half of experience across brands such as MP Tourism, Star Network, Airtel, ICICI Bank, Birla Sun life, Asian Paints and others.

     

    This is Bhardwaj’s second stint with McCann. He has extensive experience in the industry across agencies and brands such as Sprite, Kinley, Chlormint, MasterCard, HP and Reebok. Bhardwaj co-founded and ran an independent agency, Eleven Brandworks, and brings along this entrepreneurial mindset, together with the exposure to big brands.

     

    These two talents shall further bolster McCann’s creative prowess. “McCann has a stellar creative reputation, and I am excited with the new role. I look forward to taking the agency to greater heights,” said Chauhan. Bhardwaj added here, “Having worked here earlier and having seen the world I am certain that I can tangibly add value to our clients with the new responsibility entrusted to us.”

    Mumbai:

    Akshay Kapnadak and Abhinav Tripathi have been elevated to the role of Creative Heads of McCann’s advertising operations in Mumbai. Denzil Machado will now head McCann’s Craft Excellence for Mumbai. This trio will be responsible for the Creative Department in McCann, Mumbai.

     

    South region:

    McCann’s Creative Head for South, Anil Thomas, will now have extended responsibilities as his role expands across South Asia, where he shall provide creative inputs and vision on a need basis.

     

    New Delhi:

    ECDs Ravinder Siwach and Kapil Batra will continue to lead their respective responsibilities.

  • Scarecrow elevates Kapil Tammal to ECD

    MUMBAI: Scarecrow Communications has elevated Kapil Tammal to the position of executive creative director.

    Tammal, earlier creative director (art) for both Scarecrow Mumbai and Delhi, has taken charge of his new role from today.

    He will also continue his additional responsibility as design director – Scarecrow Designs.

    Scarecrow Communications founder director Manish Bhatt said, “Scarecrow has seen lots of good news in the past one year and we wanted to give it a RTB (Reason to Believe). Our vision is to create the best second line and empower it from time to time. We brought Kapil on board because he is a rare talent. But his stunning performance, in the span of a year and a few months, led him to this new designation. In fact, Kapil is the fastest growing creative leader of one of the the fastest growing ad agencies in the country.”

    Prior to joining Scarecrow Communications, Tammal was with McCann Erikson Mumbai as creative director art. He has also worked at Umbrella Design, Concept Communication and McCann Worldgroup. He has handled clients like Vaseline, Pears, Liril (Unilver), Maybelline (L‘oreal), The Economic Times and Onida.
