    Mumbai: P.V. Narayanamoorthy, a veteran in the field of media planning and advertising effectiveness,has taken on the crucial role of Director at Proof of Performance Data Services (PoP). Mr. Moorthy will spearhead the cutting edge technology based analytics platform which PoP has created for accurate measurement methodology and accountability in the outdoor media business. He willbe the key strategic contact for advising corporates about outdoor spends and how efficacy can be maintained and enhanced in outdoor media utilization.

    Mr. Moorthy’s appointment is testimony that PoP that is constantly on the lookout for improving the qualitiyand accountability in the Outdoor media platform.     His last assignment was with Carat where he worked across the Asia Pacific region spanning 13 countries. He was a member of the regional board with responsibility for new business, strategy, tool development, training and research.

    VIP moves from Ogilvy to McCann Erickson

    Mumbai: VIP Industries has announced the appointment of McCann Erickson as its creative agency for VIP brand. The business has moved both its brands -VIP and Skybags – from its incumbent agency Ogilvy and Mather. The luggage manufacturer‘s creative account was with O&M for close to two years.

    It is, currently, also scouting for a creative partner for its Skybags brand.

    News Nation hands over media AOR to Carat

    MUMBAI: It‘s making an entry into an already teeming with competition space. And News Nation – a channel promoted by a group from the north with Shailesh Kumar (a former Aaj Tak and Zee News news professional) at its helm needs all the professional help it can to guide it through the terrain. Hence, it has handed over the media mandate to plan its media spends to Dentsu-Aegis Groups’ Carat Media Services following a multi agency pitch.

    The soon to be launched channel’s creative duties are being handled by IPG’s McCann Erickson. A high voltage campaign is scheduled to be flagged off soon.

    “We believe in the proposition being put forth by News Nation whole heartedly. It’s a responsible news channel for the sensible viewer and our media approach is also similarly aligned to connect the brand message with its chosen prospect most effectively. We shall endeavour to do this with the help of all pertinent media platforms – including television, print, digital, OOH as well as activation,” says Carat Media executive VP Vidhu Sagar.

    News Nation aims to position itself as the news channel of a new India that focuses on getting to the real truth behind every story and to deliver pure, unadulterated news to viewers.

  • Commonwealth’s RP Singh to join Sirez Group

    MUMBAI: RP Singh who works as McCann Erickson Commonwealth head-digital, APAC and West Asia, has decided to move on from the agency to join Sirez Group as CEO.

    Based in Delhi, Singh‘s immediate priority will be to bring new clients on board for digital marketing agency Sirez Infosystems.

    Singh comes in with over 12 years of experience in digital marketing. He has worked across regions including India, China and Southeast Asia.

    Prior to joining McCann Erickson Commonwealth, Singh has worked with companies such as GroupM, Starcom, Ogilvy, Trident Group and Smile Interactive.

    In his career, he has handled brands from companies like Pepsico, GSK, General Motors and P&G.

    For the record, Commonwealth is the global JV between McCann Erickson Worldwide and Goodby Silverstein & Partners.

  • Mumbai Indians gets McCann on creative roster

    MUMBAI: Nita Ambani’s IPL franchise Mumbai Indians has decided to rope in IPG’s McCann Erickson on the creative agency roster.

    WPP’s Ogilvy and Mather was servicing the account.

    A source close to the development revealed that both the agencies will work on different aspects of the campaign. According to the source, O&M will be handling the CSR part of Mumbai Indians’ campaign while McCann will focus on the engagement part.

    It has also been learnt the IPL franchise plans to have more agencies on the roster this year in order to have a more efficient campaign. Red Digital has been the team‘s digital agency for the past two years.

  • Jaideep Mahajan calls it a day at Rediffusion Y&R

    MUMBAI: Rediffusion Y&R national head (Art) and ECD Jaideep Mahajan has decided to move on from the agency after a stint of 11 months.

    This was his second stint with Rediffusion-Y&R.

    Mahajan has over 17 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining Rediffusion Y&R in March 2012, he had also worked with JWT, McCann Erickson, Leo Burnett Advertising, Contract Advertising and FCB Ulka.

  • Dulux rolls out ad campaign for ‘Velvet Touch’

    MUMBAI: AkzoNobel, the maker of Dulux Paints, is launching a brand campaign to promote its new product, ‘Velvet Touch Pearl Glo‘.
    The new ad campaign has been conceptualised and created by McCann Erickson.

    Dulux, Akzo Nobel India category manager interiors- brand and digital Pushkar Jain said, “The campaign aims to build a distinct positioning for Dulux Velvet Touch Pearl Glo in the premium, super luxury paints category – as a product that catalyses success in life through the transformative power of colour.”

    The campaign, which will feature across both, print and television, has Farhan Akhtar essaying the role of a man who has evolved across many genres of creativity and is looking to achieve more.

    The campaign will be in English, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali and Malayalam.

    In the ad film, Farhan Akhtar is portraying a Sutradhar – taking audience through stories of people having experienced a certain level of success in life.

    According to the company, he derives the credibility of being a story-teller (Sutradhar) from his own story – of being a successful actor, an equally respected director and a talented singer. A man with a velvet touch, always being inspired to do more and to express his creative rhythms, the colours of his multi-faceted personality.

    Three distinct human stories are narrated by Farhan – each capturing a different manifestation of renewal and transformation. In each, the power of colour is showcased in its physiological, psychological and philosophical dimensions to reflect the glow of success.

  • McCann makes senior level appointments at Bengaluru and Mumbai

    MUMBAI: IPG owned advertising agency McCann Erickson has made appointments at leadership positions in it Bengaluru and Mumbai offices.

    Vijay Jacob Parakkal has been roped in as McCann Bangalore general manager. Namrata Nandan who has spent three years heading the Bengaluru office which has key businesses like Britannia, ITC and TVS motors has been re-located to Mumbai and will now oversee the McCann Mumbai branch.

    Parakkal comes with an experience of close to two decades across India and Srilanka and in companies like Eveready, Bazee.com and Grey. He has worked on brands such as ITC, Bharti AXA, Sify, Ashok Leyland and UB Group.

    Anil Thomas is to continue as creative chief for McCann‘s entire South Operations.

  • Debashis Paul to join Percept H as COO

    MUMBAI: After a stint of over 12 years at McCann Erickson, Debashis Paul joining Percept H as chief operating officer.

    Paul resigns as McCann Erickson India EVP and McCann Social head.

    Assuming the national role at Percept H, Paul will manage agency‘s offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai and Lucknow.

    Paul said, “The portfolio of clients I have handled at McCann Erickson is very enviable. I have had deep and long-term involvement with clients like Nestle, HP, Coca-Cola and earlier Reckitt & Benckiser. McCann also handles few global accounts that have helped me in getting a perspective of a global client. I have also had the experience of handling Indian appointment clients like Perfetti and Dabur. It has been a great journey where I have managed different kinds of clients and in almost all categories.”

    Paul has been heading the Delhi branch since 2007. Prior to joining McCann Erickson, he was with Saatchi & Saatchi for over five years. He had worked at Saatchi & Saatchi‘s as head of Calcutta office before moving to Delhi as head.

    JWT Delhi gets Nitin Pradhan as ECD

    MUMBAI: JWT Delhi has appointed Nitin Pradhan as executive creative director.

    Pradhan moves in from McCann Erickson where he was working as ECD. He had joined the agency in August 2011.

    Based in Delhi, he will be handling agency’s Airtel business and will also be involved in project works.

    Prior to joining McCann Erickson, Pradhan was with Leo Burnett as ECD. He had worked at Leo Burnett from June 2010-August 2011 and handled accounts like Uninor, Samsung, Refrigerators and Coke Studio. He had also worked with O&M as associate creative director and Mudra Communications as senior copywriter.
