    Mumbai: CNBC-TV18 organised an intimate chapter of Future. Female. Forward Season 2: The Leadership Circle – Mumbai Edition, presented by HSBC India. This significant initiative aims to bridge the gender gap and engage in impactful conversations to promote gender equality. The event was held at ITC Grand Central, Mumbai on April 18, 2024, and was attended by prominent figures from business, entrepreneurship, policy, entertainment, and politics.

    The Leadership Circle aimed to go beyond traditional networking events by establishing a forum where decision-makers and influential leaders gathered to promote true parity. This chapter welcomed prominent female leaders to share their experiences, encouraging meaningful dialogue and effective collaboration.

    The evening kickstarted with a welcome address by CNBC-TV18 managing editor Shereen Bhan. She said, “CNBC-TV18’s Future. Female. Forward. initiative has collected narratives of numerous women across various spheres of life. We have taken our campaign and conversations to global forums with the World Economic Forum in Davos. Currently, we operate around 17 stores across India, and we aim to increase this number to between 35 and 40 in the upcoming years. I used to say, people loved heading West, finding joy in opening stores in New York or Dubai. But today, we’ve got it all right here in our Indian market.”

    VIP Industries Ltd managing director Neetu Kashiramka speaking about her journey of overcoming societal taboos said “I come from a conservative Marwadi family where even attending college was a challenge. Despite my father’s pressure to marry at 20, I was resolute about pursuing a career. It took tears and persistence to gain his approval. The next hurdle was finding a progressive partner who would respect and support my ambitions. With confidence, I approached my husband-to-be, laying out my expectations clearly. His unwavering support and sacrifices have been crucial to my career success. From starting as an assistant manager to becoming a vice president, I’ve achieved milestones beyond imagination. Each step, from K-11 to VIP Industries, has been driven by determination and a commitment to excellence.”

    Good Community co-founder, Good Glam Group & CEO Naiyya Saggi said  “At its core, we are fostering a community where both remarkable women and men unite. Growing up, my mother was an indomitable force who shattered stereotypes, ensuring that gender was never a barrier in my life. Entrepreneurship, particularly founding Baby Chakra, opened my eyes to the existing disparities. We encountered difficulties in persuading male investors, but we never gave up. I was recently elected to the governing council of the Mumbai Tech Entrepreneurs Association, where I advocate for increased female representation. As I prepare to become a mother for the second time, my journey is a testament to the power of persistence. Each challenge we overcome not only advances our cause but also sets the stage for others to follow. We aim to create a domino effect, where each success story motivates many more to embark on their own paths.”

    Sohini Chattopadhyay,  national-award-winning film critic, journalist, and author delivered a special author session about the growth of Women in history, specific women in sports.

    The event’s concluding discussion session on partner perspectives on ‘Championing Diversity and Inclusion’ was led by Amitabh Malhotra, head of Global Banking of HSBC India.     Marvel’s Wastelanders is the first collaboration between Audible and Marvel Entertainment and will be released simultaneously in French, German, Hindi, Italian and Japanese in the respective countries as a global audio experience with top-quality production, featuring renowned and high-profile actors in the roles of Marvel’s legendary Super Heroes.

    More information on the cast and premiere dates for subsequent seasons of the Marvel’s Wastelanders series, including Wolverine, Doom, and Marvel’s Wastelanders, will be announced at a later date. The six-season audio epic originally launched as an English language series in June 2021.

    The English language version of Marvel’s Wastelanders: Black Widow was written by Alex Delyle (Fear the Walking Dead), directed by Timothy Busfield (Thirtysomething, The West Wing), with sound design and original music by Daniel Brunelle (The Two Princes, Sandra).

    The new season, Marvel’s Wastelanders: Black Widow, launches on 8 November 2023, with Kareena Kapoor Khan as the voice of Black Widow/Helen Black and Masaba Gupta as Lisa Cartwright.     Plot: Almost thirty years after The Day the Villains Won (aka V-Day), Helen Black (Kareena Kapoor Khan) arrives at her new apartment in The Onar, a 161-story apartment complex in what used to be Midtown Manhattan. Owned and operated by the U.S. American Secret Service S.H.I.E.L.D., The Onar has become the very embodiment of the dystopic wealth and inequality that’s engulfed New York City ever since V-Day. A collection of uber-rich families – including the media magnate Burge family – occupy the opulent penthouses in the DecaDomes, The Onar’s highest ten stories. Helen Black’s apartment is located in the much humbler ‘100 Block’. When her nosy neighbour Dr Brian Mizuno asks Helen (through the paper-thin walls) what brought her here, she cryptically alludes to “problems with an ex…”.

    On the same day that Helen moves into her apartment, Lisa Cartwright reports for her first day as a Junior Residential Security Analyst for Panopticog Solutions, a private security company hired by S.H.I.E.L.D. to monitor the residents of The Onar (without their knowledge or consent). Lisa is assigned to survey Helen’s corner of the 100 Block and quickly discovers that Helen Black is not at all who she says she is.

    Cadbury Dairy Milk sets out initiative for MCA ground staff

    Mumbai: As the country gears up for the much-awaited cricket season, chocolate brand Cadbury Dairy Milk has partnered with Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to celebrate and support the often-unnoticed heroes of the league, the ground staff. 

    This season, the brand has become the official sponsor for the ground staff, and as a part of this initiative, it introduced efforts focused on treating the ground staff at par with the cricketers. “This includes best-in-class travel, accommodation, taking care of their nutritional needs, and providing customised jerseys designed by renowned fashion designer Masaba Gupta, throughout the season,” according to the statement.

    The brand has also extended its collaboration with Mumbai Indians as the official ‘goodness partner’ supporting the initiative.  

    Speaking about the initiative, Mondelez India VP of marketing Anil Viswanathan said they want to support and bring forth stories of these members who tirelessly work behind the scenes. “We hope our initiative acts as a springboard and spreads the message of acknowledging the unacknowledged,” he added.

    “Building further on our generosity platform, this cricketing season we are proud to celebrate the team of ground staff. We are grateful to have them as our team,” stated Ogilvy India chief creative officer Sukesh Nayak.

    “The ground staff are the unsung heroes of cricket, so it was only fair that we now acknowledged the heroes behind this massive event,” commented Wavemaker India’s national director – sports and entertainment partnerships Jigar Rambhia. “The biggest challenge for us, however, was to ensure that they get their dues, while cricket & the players continue to be at the center of this event.”

    “To do this we decided to acknowledge their efforts, where they sweat it out the most, their grounds. From recognising them off-screen to recognising them on screen, we aim to give the people of India a glimpse into the lives of the ground staff, so that when they watch cricket next, they celebrate, both: on-screen and off-screen heroes,’’ he added.  

    “Acknowledging the real heroes behind the scenes is a very generous gesture. Mumbai Cricket Association is delighted to be a part of this never done before heart-warming activity for the ground staff at Wankhede stadium,” the MCA spokesperson highlighted.
