With my prayers."

On their association with the project, Ankhi Das, the Director of Public Policy for Facebook in India, said, "It's important to remember those who lost their lives in such a horrific attack ten years ago today, today is about those who showed bravery, courage and strength at the hands of terror. • Dentsu Impact celebrates launch of ‘Dumdaar’ Super Carry

Dentsu Impact celebrates launch of ‘Dumdaar’ Super Carry

MUMBAI: Dentsu Impact, the creative agency from Dentsu Aegis Network, has created a new campaign to celebrate the pan India launch of Super Carry, the commercial vehicle (LCV) from the house of Maruti Suzuki.

The ‘Dumdaar’ Campaign for Maruti Suzuki’s commercial vehicle, Super Carry has been beautifully ideated and executed. The campaign highlights the dumdaar features of the powerful mini truck that depicts easy handling and stability of the deck across different geographical terrains, excellent mileage, comfortable drivability of the vehicle throughout long commutes and the reliability of the vehicle with the trust of Maruti Suzuki.

In 2016, Maruti Suzuki ventured into the commercial vehicle segment with the pilot launch of Super Carry in 3 cities. Riding on the company’s trust, quality after-sales and mass-market appeal, it managed to establish a strong foothold in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) space in 2017-18, selling more than 10,000 units. Its smooth car-like handling, roomy interiors, superior overall comfort and advanced safety features make the Super Carry the perfect Dumdaar saathi.

Maruti Suzuki senior director RS Kalsi said, “With Super Carry, we target to fulfill the business needs of our customers. Super Carry is a robust load carrying vehicle that is made for carrying large loads yet offers high fuel efficiency. Moreover, our strong service network brings a huge assurance to the customers.”

He added, “Maruti Suzuki has changed the way India drives; similarly, Super Carry brings in a revolution in the LCV segment. To reach out to more customers, we have opened 235 outlets which are selling this vehicle in more than 190 cities. Super Carry today has crossed 20,000 sales with the 10,000 numbers coming just in last six months.”

Dentsu Impact president Amit Wadhwa mentioned, “Maruti Suzuki is a leader when it comes to passenger cars. So, when a company like Maruti Suzuki decides to launch a commercial vehicle, it has to be special in terms of the product and its communication. Super Carry being the reliable mini truck, deserves a communication that connects with its audience. This campaign according to me, does just that.”

Dentsu Impact national creative director Anupama Ramaswamy said, “The audience for a commercial vehicle is very different from that of a passenger car. Therefore, it was important to look at ways in which we could connect with the prospective buyer both functionally, as well as emotionally.”

The campaign has been rolled out in 11 languages and on multiple mediums ranging from TVC, print and radio which has been able to generate high resonance with customers belonging to different geographies.

  • NEXA invents sound of blue colour in digital campaign

NEXA invents sound of blue colour in digital campaign

MUMBAI: Hakuhodo India has invented an innovative digital campaign for #NEXABlue the signature shade, exclusively created for cars sold at NEXA.

The new digital campaign is targeted at the NEXA customer aged between 18-45, who follow online information and trends from around the world and is well versed with social media platforms. The #NEXABlue campaign brings to life a car colour through Synesthesia – an innate ability to translate sound to colours and vice versa, in a first-ever digital format across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

The objective of this campaign was to highlight both innovation and invention through this signature shade in a way never-before-seen. Here, color has been used to create something novel, something unprecedented. The Sound of NEXA Blue was the work of three western classical musicians with Synesthesia who came together and traveled to India to help create this signature tune. These uniquely gifted musicians Samara and Litsa from the United Kingdom and Eduardo from Canada were presented with the colour #NEXABlue and were asked to give notes that they ‘heard’ after seeing the colour.

Then, the Hakuhodo India team worked with a composer who helped create a symphony using only the particular notes. In a never-before-done collaboration, NEXA, musicians and a special colour came together to create the Sound of NEXA Blue.

Hakuhodo India national creative director Sabuj Sengupta says, “NEXA Blue is a unique colour created for the NEXA range of cars. By taking colour and elevating it to another level, this campaign has once again showcased NEXA’s ability to create something original, something inventive for its premium and exclusive customers in their car owning experience.”

The idea for #NEXABlue came from the age-old premise of the colour blue having been the inspiration for innovation be it art, science or culture. For instance, take the gemstone lapis lazuli, that lead to innovation of transporting it centuries ago to Egypt from present day Afghanistan; or how denim, the innovative fabric revolutionised the textile industry; architectural/photographic blueprints, or the blue rose, all discoveries in blue #BlueisInnovative!

  • Maruti Suzuki straps on your seat belt with #PehniKya

Maruti Suzuki straps on your seat belt with #PehniKya

MUMBAI: Road accidents and fatalities are a national concern. According to the recent Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MRTH) data, not wearing seat belts resulted in 5,638 fatalities during 2016. Fifty percent of these fatalities could be prevented through use of seat belts, an important safety device often ignored by car users in India. A recent study by Maruti Suzuki conducted with Kantar Group (Millward Brown and IMRB) reveals seat belt usage rate is as low as 25 per cent in India.

To address the issue, Maruti Suzuki India has recently rolled out a nationwide social campaign to create awareness and promote seat belt use among drivers and passengers.

Maruti Suzuki senior executive director RS Kalsi says, “Seat belt is one of the most effective safety equipment in a car. Studies by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), USA, show that if an occupant is not wearing a seat belt in a vehicle equipped with airbags, the airbags may actually cause more harm in the event of a crash. At the same time, with the new safety regulations, more cars in India will come equipped with airbags. This makes the usage of seat belts even more critical.”

Called #PehniKya, conceived by Happy mcgarrybowen, a unit of Dentsu Aegis Network, it focuses on driving this behaviour change among car users in India. The high impact 360-degree integrated campaign by Maruti Suzuki comprises print, TVC, radio, digital and on-ground activations.

The emotionally resonant TVC for ‘#PehniKya?’ is centred on a kid trying to stop his father from driving his car, because his father is not in the habit of wearing the seat belt. The TVC is currently being played on major television channels in India spanning the genres of news, movies, etc.

He added, “Lack of awareness of seat belt as a safety device, lack of encouragement from family and friends, and weak law enforcement were among the key reasons for non-usage. Through this campaign, we aim to encourage car occupants to wear their seat belts.”

Happy mcgarrybowen chief creative officer and MD PM Praveen Das mentions, “We were very excited to work on their latest campaign on the seat belt initiative. Drawing from research, we decided to keep the message simple and thought-provoking, thus was born #PehniKya? Another key insight that was validated by research was that people would be far more impacted if the message came from a family member. Hence, the construct of the TVC. The film captures the simple emotion of love of a son for his father.”

  • Isobar brings integrated video chatbot tech for Dzire

MUMBAI: Isobar, the digital agency from Dentsu Aegis Network, and Maruti Suzuki have rolled out India’s first Integrated Chatbot. Isobar, the agency that handles the digital mandate for Maruti Suzuki India, created this innovation as part of the launch campaign of brand Dzire. The all-new Maruti Suzuki Dzire, with its smooth sedan styling, rich interiors and seamless enhancements, had to be introduced to the market in exciting new formats. Being an existing segment leader, Maruti Suzuki decided to be bold and bring forward the renewed brand message and capture existing and new audiences’ interest.

Commenting on this first of its kind innovation, Sanjeev Handa, VP Marketing said, “The video chat bot used for the All New Dzire is a very exciting innovation for us at Maruti Suzuki. We look forward to sustained quality engagement with consumers in future.”

Gopa Kumar, VP Isobar India, added, “We’re thrilled to be working with Maruti Suzuki and pioneer into the next level of conversational and engaging ad. This being an industry first, provides superior user experience on video and adding this extra level of personalisation with the Chatbot makes them even more powerful. This is also an example of what can be created when a great brand and truly cutting-edge technology team up. We expect this to be the first of many such campaigns as other brands discover the opportunities of Chabot integrations with their video ads.”

  • YouTube watch time grew 400% y-o-y, 80% on mobile

MUMBAI: With a growing appetite among Indian consumers to watch videos online, YouTube, as per App Annie, has shared that over 180 million Indians are watching YouTube every month on mobile. The video streaming platform at the fourth edition of Brandcast India, further noted that the watch time in India has grown 400 per cent year on year and 80 per cent of watch time in India comes from mobile. From entertainment to education, from news to beauty – Indians are turning to YouTube for every aspect of their lives

Held in Mumbai, the event brought together top advertisers, agencies, and partners from all across the country to discuss and celebrate YouTube – the destination where Indians choose to watch video.

Improved connectivity, affordable data plans and huge variety of content available has led to over 400 million Indians online and 300 smartphone users today. In the mobile video era, viewers can watch what they want, where they want and when they want – and this greater choice for viewers also means greater opportunities for marketers. In today’s media environment, while there is plentiful reach, it’s harder to attract viewers’ attention.

Elaborating on how ‘attentive reach’ has become the new currency for the advertisers, Google India and South-East Asia head of marketing Sapna Chadha, said, “According to a survey we conducted with Majestic Research, using eye-tracking technology we discovered, the first ad in an TV ad break is watched actively by 50 per cent of people while the last one is watched actively by only 13 per cent of viewers. Attention has always been inherent to advertising. But, capturing and keeping attention has never been harder for advertisers.”

Addressing the audience, Chadha asked them to change how they buy and plan media for attentive reach. She also shared that over the years, YouTube captures audience attention by delivering 95 per cent audibility and 93 per cent viewability.

Speaking on how to make advertising more effective online, MOAT CEO Jonah Goodhart added, “Everywhere in the world, consumption patterns are changing, making ‘attentive reach’ the foundation of any digital campaign. Measurability is the key to understand the efficacy of any brand engagement and we are thrilled to be the first company to independently measure viewability on YouTube.”

Maruti Suzuki VP and head of marketing Sanjeev Handa asserted, “When you combine a format like video and you want to reach out to a billion+ Indians, the answer comes naturally and that is YouTube. YouTube allows us to tell the right brand stories to the right audiences helping us capture their attention. Case in point, is the launch of the IGNIS which was done simultaneously through the physical as well as digital medium to engage with the millennials and, the results were astounding. On YouTube, the launch was viewed over 10 million times, and 20 per cent pre-launch bookings came from digital in the first 10 days.” He further added, “For advertisers to leverage digital effectively, one needs to have deep insights into your consumers, look to target their interests and effectively measure the viewability of the ad.”

Sharing his experience of working with brands, Kurt Hugo Schneider who has over 8 million subscribers on YouTube and has collaborated with over 40 global brands said, “Concept integration and not product integration, is key to making a brand video authentic and earning people’s attention. With technological innovation, brands today have the opportunity to interact more closely with their audience and get a feel of their preferences.”

Attended by over 800 marketers, advertisers and creators, YouTube Brandcast 2017 also saw YouTube Leaderboard Awards where top 10 advertisers with the most creative ads were felicitated. The award celebrated the brands that performed best through a combination of popularity and promotion.
