    MUMBAI: Staying true to offering the best of entertainment, Vh1, is geared up to refresh its programming line-up come July. Serving up the best music from 2016, Vh1 is all set to showcase a mid- year compilation of Vh1’s Top 50 Videos of 2016

     Commenting on the new line-up, Viacom18 English Entertainment head programming Hashim D’Souza  shared, “The new line-up aims at offering a wholesome viewing experience to our viewers & fans alike! There’s something for everyone. We’re excited to put out these additions & we’re sure viewers will like the varied programming offered to them”

  • Maroon 5’s Adam Levine to perform at the Oscars

    Maroon 5’s Adam Levine to perform at the Oscars

    MUMBAI: Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and actor Adam Levine will perform the Oscar-nominated song “Lost Stars” at the 87th Oscars.

     

    The Oscars, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, will be held on 22 February.

     

    Show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said, “Adam Levine is an exceptional and dynamic artist. We’re thrilled to have him make his Oscars stage debut this year.”

     

    “Lost Stars,” written by Gregg Alexander and Danielle Brisebois for the film “Begin Again,” is nominated for Original Song. The four other nominated songs are “Everything Is Awesome” from “The Lego Movie,” “Glory” from “Selma,” “Grateful” from “Beyond the Lights” and “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” from “Glen Campbell…I’ll Be Me.”

     

    Levine is the lead singer for the group Maroon 5, which has received three Grammy Awards, two for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals (2005 and 2007) and one for Best New Artist (2004), Levine made his feature film acting debut in “Begin Again,” which is directed by John Carney and also stars Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo.

     

    The 87th Oscars will be held on 22 February at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood. The Oscars will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.

    Keira Knightley starrer ‘Begin Again’ to hit theaters on 18 July

    MUMBAI: Bring out the romantic within you, this monsoon. PVR Director’s Rare gears up to release its latest offering, Begin Again.

     

    Starring Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo, the film which is written and directed by John Carney also marks the acting debut of the lead singer of pop rock band Maroon 5, Adam Levine.

     

    PVR JMD Sanjeev Kumar Bijli said, “We are glad to bring a fun, light-hearted movie like ‘Begin Again’ under the banner of PVR Director’s Rare. We are certain that the movie will not be liked just by music lovers but will strike a chord with the wider Hollywood cinema loving audience as well. By investing in such critically-acclaimed movies, we want to continue our pursuit of bringing an eclectic mix of niche and independent cinema to Indian theatres.”

     

    Begin Again is a soul-stirring comedy about what happens when lost souls meet and make beautiful music together. Greta (Keira Knightley) and her long-time boyfriend Dave (Adam Levine) are college sweethearts and songwriting partners who decamp for New York when he lands a deal with a major label. But the trappings of his new-found fame soon tempt Dave to stray and a reeling, lovelorn Greta is left, all alone. Her world takes a turn for the better when Dan (Mark Ruffalo), a disgraced record-label exec, stumbles upon her performing at an East Village stage and is immediately captivated by her raw talent. From this chance encounter emerges an enchanting portrait of a mutually transformative collaboration, set to the soundtrack of a summer in New York City.

    Zee Café to launch four shows, adds local glam series’View from the Top’

    MUMBAI: The English general entertainment channel Zee Café has lined-up four new shows for the month of April, with – Candid Camera, Oz, The Gig (Musical concert) and View from the Top.

    View from the Top is yet another local show featuring the lifestyles of the rich, the famous and the achievers.

    The show will launch on 23 April at 6 pm. It is Zee Cafe’s second local show- the first being Bombay Talking.

    Zee Café business head Neil Chakravarti says, “Our endeavour is to showcase the best of English entertainment, we are now adding four new shows in the month of April to our existing line-up of award winning programmes. We are positive our viewers will find them as appealing as the earlier shows.

    He adds, “Shows like Candid Camera, Oz, The Gig (Musical concert) and View from the Top, are targeted at a wider audience.

    “We have extended our programming to provide a mixed bag in order to cater to varied tastes of the ever-growing English audience.”

    Starting from 1 April, the channel brings in the reality-comedy show Candid Camera to air at 7 pm.

    On 7 April, the channel will air the series Oz at 10 pm, chronicling the daily activities of an unusual prison facility and its criminal inhabitants.

    Showcasing some of the outstanding concerts from different corners of the world by some renowned artists of the music industry, Zee Café has lined up a series of 13 concerts in The Gig that includes the likes of Shakira, Usher, Destiny’s Child, Pink Floyd, Santana, Maroon 5 and many more.The Gig will air from 8 April at 2:30 pm.
