    Paramount reveals ‘Transformers: Age Of Extinction’ title

    MUMBAI: The Autobots and Decepticons have landed in Detroit. The Michigan city is doubling for a bombed out Hong Kong in Michael Bay’s Transformers 4. This will be the follow up to the already massively successful franchise and the movie is already on the floors and will ready for a mid 2014 release.

     

    Paramount unveiled the official title of its fourth Transformers installment along with a new teaser poster. Transformers: Age Of Extinction is due in theaters 27 June 2014. The Michael Bay magnum opus stars Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Sophia Myles, TJ Miller, Titus Welliver, Han Geng and Li Bingbing and is currently in production.

    MUMBAI: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is now making his move to HBO, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The cable network has announced a new pilot in the pipeline that will star Johnson, and will see both him and his Pain & Gain co-star Mark Wahlberg as executive-producers.
     
    Stephen Levinson, Wahlberg‘s Entourage producing partner, will not only write the script but also be producing the show. The show is being described as a half-hour ‘dramedy‘ following the lives of active and retired athletes residing in Miami.
     
    Perter Berg director of the sci-fi flick Battleship, who also directed an episode of Entourage in 2012, is to helm the pilot.
     
    This marks the most topical Wahlberg-Levinson collaboration for the network – in addition to Entourage, the two have also been attached to Boardwalk Empire, In Treatment, and How to Make It in America.

    MUMBAI: An "ancient and powerful" new villain who will terrorise the human race will feature in Michael Bay‘s upcoming Transfomers 4 that would star Mark Wahlberg.
     
    The first plot details for the upcoming Bay directed blockbuster have emerged, revealing that the film, which will feature an all-new cast led by Wahlberg, will center on the theme of "freedom and enslavement", it has been reported.
     
    "As humanity picks up the pieces following the conclusion of ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon‘, Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control. The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues," said the Michigan Film Council, which has confirmed a $20 million tax incentive for the film‘s shoot in the state, in a statement.
     
    Both Transformers and Transformers: Dark of the Moon were shot in Michigan.

    MUMBAI: Actor Mark Wahlberg and his co-star in the film ‘Ted‘ who was a teddy bear will be presenters on the Oscar show, telecast producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced.

    Zadan and Meron said, “We are happy to make it possible for Mark and Ted to make their debut appearance on the Oscar stage. And we won‘t deny that Ted used his pull with our host to get himself the booking.”

    ‘Ted’ is now the highest-grossing R-rated original comedy of all time. Ted said, “I‘m excited to present an Oscar with Mark Wahlberg. I‘m spending the next month learning to pronounce ‘Quvenzhané.‘”

    Wahlberg has twice been nominated for Academy Awards, in 2006 for his supporting role in ‘The Departed‘ and in 2010 as a producer of the best picture nominee ‘The Fighter‘.

    Wahlberg and Ted join a list of previously announced Oscar performers including Adele, Norah Jones and Barbra Streisand.

    The Oscar Awards take place on 25 February 2013 and will air on Star Movies.

    MUMBAI: Academy award nominee Mark Wahlberg has been roped in to play the main lead in Michael Bay‘s next Tranformers 4. He replaces Shia LaBeouf who played the main lead in the last three films.
    “Mark is awesome. We had a blast working on ‘Pain And Gain‘ and I‘m so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his calibre is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the legacy of ‘Transformers‘,” said Bay in a statement.
    Wahlberg and Bay are reuniting after their upcoming Pain And Gain.
    Transformers 4, the latest in the popular sci-fi action series, will hit theatres on 27 June 2014.
    The film will go on the floors in spring 2013.
    To be produced by Paramount Pictures, the movie will be distributed in India by Viacom18 Motion Pictures.
    Bay‘s first “Transformers” film was a box office sensation in 2007, as it earned over $700 million worldwide.
    Second instalment titled “Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen” (2009), grossed more than $830 million worldwide.
    And in 2011 came third movie in the franchise. Titled “Transformers: Dark Of The Moon”, it grossed over a billion dollars.

    Hollywood Foreign Press grants $10,000 to IFFLA

    MUMBAI: The Hollywood Foreign Press has given a grant of $10,000 to the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) for promoting cultural exchange through films, Totally, the organisation gave away grants amounting to $1.5 million to film-related organisations and charities.
     
    The organisations that were awarded grants in the same category as IFFLA were American Cinematheque and FilmAid International.
     
    Leonardo DiCaprio accepted a cheque for $350,000 on behalf of the Film Foundation, founded by Martin Scorsese for the preservation and restoration of classic films.
     
    Others who accepted donations include Mark Wahlberg, Gerard Butler, Hugh Dancy, Jessica Chastain, Kevin Bacon, Lea Michele, Taylor Lautner, Elizabeth Olsen, Yoshiki and Jim Sturgess.
