    Jindal Stainless backs IIS athletes, forging India’s champions of tomorrow

    MUMBAI: When steel meets speed, champions are forged. Jindal Stainless is turning this mantra into reality by partnering with the Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) to nurture India’s next generation of track and field stars. Through its CSR arm, the Jindal Stainless Foundation, the company has become the key sponsor of IIS’ Track & Field Development program at Hisar for FY 25-26, supporting aspiring athletes on their journey to national and international success.

    The Hisar centre is a crucial talent hub, scouting promising athletes aged 18–25 from across India and channeling them into a structured training ecosystem. This year, the program is mentoring 39 athletes, providing them with a holistic environment that spans world-class facilities, expert coaching, sports science support, nutrition guidance, and financial assistance for travel to competitive events. A standout feature of the initiative is the involvement of Klaus Bartonietz, former coach of Olympic javelin champion Neeraj Chopra, who brings cutting-edge biomechanics expertise to the budding athletes.

    “Supporting IIS’ track & field development program is our way of ensuring young athletes can compete with confidence on the global stage,” said Jindal Stainless managing director Abhyuday Jindal. “Through this collaboration, we aim to nurture India’s future champions and empower talent where it matters most.”

    IIS president Manisha Malhotra added, “Jindal Stainless’ partnership allows us to strengthen our program, giving young athletes access to state-of-the-art facilities, scientific guidance, and competitive opportunities essential for national and international success. This support is pivotal in helping India create a world-class sports ecosystem.”

    Athletes in the program represent a diverse pool of talent, including budding javelin throwers like Aditya and Manpreet Singh, who are training under this rigorous system. The initiative spans sprints, hurdles, and throws, equipping participants with the skills and discipline required to excel in global competitions.

    Jindal Stainless has supported IIS for several years, and by acting as the key sponsor for 2025-26, the company reaffirms its commitment to sports, youth empowerment, and social impact.     MUMBAI: Drugs and their abuse are two of the most worrisome habits amongst India’s youth. And Sony Sports Network has put its best foot behind an effort to curtail the consumption of hallucinogens. Titled ‘Iss Baar Drugs Ki Haar,’ its mission is to motivate Indian youth and do it over the long term.

    According to a United Nations study, approximately 13 percent of drug abuse victims in India are below 20, with the nation experiencing a 70 percent rise in narcotic consumption over the past eight years. And in most instances, drugs are usually introduced to youngsters  by someone they know, in many cases, a friend.

    “Sony Sports Network is extremely proud to launch the Iss Baar Drugs Ki Haar’ movement and we sincerely believe that sports has the power to instil and bring about a positive change among the youth,” says  Sony Pictures Networks India chief revenue officer -distribution & international business and head – sports business Rajesh Kaul. “In association with India’s top athletes across disciplines, we are confident of making a statement and inspiring young India to stay away from the influence of drugs.”

    Prominent athletes of India across disciplines have joined hands with Sony Sports Network to spread the Iss Baar Drugs Ki Haar message to young India. In the films, these sporting icons are spreading awareness of the harmful effects of drugs and aiming to inspire as well as encourage people to choose the life of a champion by saying no to drugs.

    Newly appointed head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team, Gautam Gambhir, football stalwarts like Sunil Chhetri and Bhaichung Bhutia, multiple grand slam winner Sania Mirza, icons like Olympic medallist Saina Nehwal, Indian women’s cricket team vice-captain, Smriti Mandhana, Indian Hockey veteran goalkeeper PR Sreejesh, Indian men’s hockey team’s former captain Manpreet Singh and two-time world champion boxer Nikhat Zareen are featured in these films.     With tagline ‘Neev Se Pravesh Tak,’ this campaign aims to create awareness about the holistic solutions provided by the Shyam Steel Apna Ghar App amongst the individual home builders and send across the brand message that strong foundation is achieved through a perfect balance of strength and flexibility just like Shyam Steel Flexi Strong TMT bars.  

    The digital film with Lovlina shows her playing with a little girl and knocking out toys for the child. Once she knocks down a stationary toy, the little girl asks Lovlina to knock out a toy that bounces back. The little girl is curious about why the toy bounces back, and Lovlina teaches her that when strength is paired with flexibility, one can bounce back from any knockout, similarly when houses are built with Shyam Steel flexi-strong TMT bars, the house is protected from any possible threats.

The TVC has been created by Rediffusion Brand Solutions and the production house is Cornerstone. The TVC is directed by Abhishek Burman.

This will be followed by outdoor and print campaigns to sustain the communication until the current financial year.

    NEW DELHI: As the world counts down one more year to the biggest event in the global sports calendar, Adidas, under the ambit of ‘Ready For Sport’ campaign has launched the ‘What’s One More’ film- aiming to inspire and enable all athletes as they prepare for its 2021 return. 

    With thousands of sporting events from grassroots matches to global tournaments cancelled this year, the ‘what’s one more’ film aims to connect communities as they eagerly await their return to active sport. The film explores how these cancellations affected the physical and mental wellness of individuals, while also following how they used this experience to positively prepare to get back in the game; leading the way and inspiring athletes who are watching from home.

    Using first-person stories of resilience and vulnerability to inspire, the film follows the reflections of global athletes, and the return to the sport they hope to make.

    Padma shri awardee Mirabai Chanu commented, “The postponement of the world's biggest sports competition gives us one more year to prepare and I am working hard to improve my performance and do well next year.     Adidas extends contract with Rohit Sharma

    MUMBAI: Global sportswear brand Adidas has announced the extension of its contract with ambassador and Indian batsman Rohit Sharma. The cricketer has been associated with the brand since 2013.

    The Indian opener, who recently became the third fastest batsman along with former skipper Sourav Ganguly to have completed 8,000 runs in ODI cricket, mentioned that he is looking forward to the association saying, “I feel Adidas is the best brand for athletes I truly believe in their products and the comfort and benefit they offer me in my sport. Further, they have continuously stepped in to provide customized solutions to athletes, including me, thereby helping us overcome many injuries.”

    He continued, “It is the leading sports brand and has played a key role in promoting sports at grassroots, which includes providing world-class platforms and experiences accessible to amateurs and pro-athletes. I look forward to our association going from strength to strength.”
