Shemaroo Entertainment launches animated kids series

Mumbai: Shemaroo Entertainment has launched three animated series which are now available on Netflix worldwide. The three series will bring Indian characters and traditions alive for kids across borders and geographies. The original animated series are produced and created by Shemaroo and are immensely popular amongst Indian kids.

Shemaroo is a pioneer in original content creation of animated movies, series and digital content in the Indian Animation and Media and Entertainment industry with popular characters like Bal Ganesh, Ghatothkach and other homegrown characters.

Spread across 13 exciting episodes of half an hour each, the three series uniquely not only entertain the kids but are also a treat for the entire family and with a focus on values, fun and learning.

'Bal Ganesh' is one of the most loved and popular characters from the house of Shemaroo. The young and mighty elephant-headed God, also known as the God of knowledge and wisdom, is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The stories centre around Lord Ganesh's childhood antics along with his friends Mooshak, Nandi, Bhringi, Aggam-Baggam and their adventures.

While the evergreen Akbar Birbal series showcases the camaraderie between the ruler and his minister, the legendary characters greatly influenced one and all and became the most loved characters in Indian folklore. Tales of Akbar & Birbal are full of quick wit and humour – a treat for the entire family. The series shows Birbal using his intelligence and presence of mind to provide justice to the people who come to Akbar seeking for his help. He also uses his intellect to amuse the emperor or calm him down when he is angry.

The famous Tree House Tales entails the story of neighbourhood friends Jack, Shelly, Mandy and Roonie, who meet up at their tree house, to discuss issues that they encounter and learn to adapt to the fast-changing world around them, something that every kid identifies and grapples with on a day-to-day basis.

All the three animated series can be enjoyed by audiences available exclusively on Netflix.

Channel V’s Ishq Unplugged introduces new video

MUMBAI: The fiction show which launched on 7 March on Channel V this year, promises to be the most unique and interesting concept for the youth who are always mesmerized by the glamour of singing reality shows. The new show aptly titled Ishq Unplugged is a love story between two contestants of a singing reality show. The romance between two completely opposite characters plays out on the backdrop of the singing reality show which they want to win for their own reasons.

Mandy and Antara, the two main leads of the show have definitely stolen the hearts of the youth by their phenomenal singing talent in the show. They continue to do so by the introduction of their new video which went on air on 25 April 2016. The new look of this tune is not only just the title track but also seems to be the new anthem for the young audience.

Since Ishq Unplugged is a music based show, to encapsulate the essence of the show, the music video is created to describe the journey and anxiety of the protagonists in the show, namely Mandy and Antara. Fancy outdoor locations, quirky looks, funky dressing and the incredible band playing are indeed a few more highlights of the track.

Having Mandy and Antara come from very diverse backgrounds and having entirely opposite personalities makes it interesting to see them sing and perform together; turn out of which is a beautiful music video. It shows their love-hate relationship very evidently. All we need to wait and see now is if this new amalgamation of the two leads mount to something more than just co-singing with each other?

Ishq Unplugged airs from Monday to Friday at 7:30pm only on Channel V.

The show is also available on hotstar and the music video is available on the link below:

  • Cartoon Network, FDA encourage Kids to Spot The Block

Cartoon Network, FDA encourage Kids to Spot The Block

MUMBAI: US kids broadcaster Cartoon Network and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are unrolling a public education campaign this month.

It encourages kids and tweens to use the Nutrition Facts information on the food label to make healthier food choices.

Known as Spot The Block, the campaign uses online and customised public education on-air spots featuring characters from popular programs like Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends to promote portion control and a healthy eating lifestyle. This first of its kind partnership between Cartoon Network and the FDA kicks off today 14 February 2007.

Spot The Block will feature two public education on-air spots produced by Cartoon Network and showcase favorite characters from the networks original programming lineup. The first on-air spot, Spot The Block, Yo! includes a funky, soulful song, ala School House Rock!, performed by characters from series, Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Camp Lazlo, and My Gym Partners a Monkey.

The fun song and dance number demonstrates where to look for (spot) the Nutrition Facts label (the block) and the useful information it contains to help kids and tweens make healthy food choices. Creative components for the second public education on-air spot unveiled later in the year will be available at a later date.

Spot The Block will also feature a custom micro site. The online destination will offer kids the opportunity to engage with the FDAs key messaging and offer tools to enable them to better understand the Nutrition Facts label on their favorite foods.

Turner Entertainment Group president Mark Lazarus says, “We are extremely honoured that the FDA has selected Cartoon Network as their media partner for communicating these important nutrition messages directly to kids and tweens, said president . The campaign fits in with our overall commitment to kids and Cartoon Networks Get Animated programme, which helps to teach and inspire kids to get healthy, active and involved; and our beloved characters are the perfect ones to deliver such a message.”

Launched in February 2005, Cartoon Networks Get Animated provides on-air, online, print and off-channel programs to teach children the value of a healthy lifestyle that includes regular exercise, good eating and helping others. Featuring the networks roster of popular cartoon characters, Get Animated currently includes multiple animated PSAs, a mobile tour, community programmes and its 2006 Rescuing Recess initiative.
