Cipla launches TVC for ActivKids Immuno Boosters

MUMBAI: Mothers’ concern for their children’s health goes to the extent of restricting them from indulging at times. Capturing one of these many concerns, Cipla has released a new TVC for its kids’ immunity supplement ActivKids Immuno Boosters.

Cipla Health head of marketing Himava Nath says, “The idea was to support the moms who were constantly worried about their kid’s health by helping them build their immunity. The product was launched through the paediatricians to begin with as they are the guardians of the kid’s health. And we have received acceptance and appreciation from them.”

The TV ad is a follow up of the hugely successful #YesMom digital campaign. It is based on the consumer insight that out of worry about their kid’s health, mothers often say no. Immuno Boosters will help build immunity in kids so that moms can say yes more often.

“The campaign was rolled out with a social experiment on the online page of Cipla highlighting the psychological impacts of ‘No’ on a child with a call out to mothers to take the Yes Challenge,” he adds.

The digital social experiment was followed up with the launch of the product in a successful media event along with celebrity mother Mandira Bedi and her 6-year-old son Vir.

Research suggests that due to multiple reasons like fussy eating, adulteration and junk eating, kids do not receive their daily requirement of essential nutrients. This leads to weaker immunity and thus is a constant source of worry for mothers. The format of Immuno Boosters is kid friendly and the formulation is scientific.

  • SonyLiv’s content mirroring contemporary trends key differentiator, says Uday Sodhi

MUMBAI: Lives today are a rigmarole of never-ending deadlines, household chores, family commitments and work life pressures. This cyclical orchestra of mounting pressures and waning pleasures leave an indelible impact on modern day relationships. With its focus on compelling storytelling that mirrors trends in our society, SonyLIV released its two latest short films – ‘Papa We Love You Too’ and ‘The Gift’ and had the celebrities participate in an engaging discussion on the subject – ‘Digital storytelling that mirrors relationship trends in contemporary Indian Society.’

In its endeavour to present great narratives coupled with exemplary performances and production values, SonyLIV is creating ripples in digital entertainment with the release of its short films. Starring actors Jimmy Shergill, Lekh Tandon, Gul Panag, Mandira Bedi and Kushal Punjabi both films are poised to resonate with the audiences and take them on a reflective entertainment journey.

The film ‘Papa We Love You Too’ revolves around the protagonist Vikas, portrayed by Jimmy Shergill, who is a 40-year old single parent. A workaholic, his life centers around his professional achievements and materialistic acquisitions, eventually weakening his bond with his 8-year old son. The shadow of this relationship is also reflected in the one that Vikas shares with his father, played by veteran director, writer and actor Lekh Tandon.

‘The Gift’, on the other hand, is an edge-of-the-seat thriller which describes the complexities of contemporary relationships, with actors Kushal Punjabi, Gul Panag and Mandira Bedi portraying powerful roles. The stylized narrative lays special emphasis on the visuals while the quick paced editing throws light on how the ruthlessness of modern life and our overarching desires make us commit incomprehensible acts.

SonyLIV EVP Uday Sodhi says: “The key differentiator of SonyLIV versus other digital players is our ability to constantly provide content that mirrors trends in society. In the category of short films alone, we have a library of more than 500 originals. Compelling story telling coupled with superior performances is a winning formula for creating lasting impressions. These films echo our sustained efforts at providing our audiences with original, unique and thought-provoking content that resonates long after its runtime is over.”

History TV18 brings Indian version of ‘Ice Road Truckers’ starring Mandira Bedi

MUMBAI: History TV18 is all set to bring the India edition of Ice Road Truckers. In this Indian chapter titled India’s Deadliest Roads (IRT), the show features Mandira Bedi, Sangram Singh and Varun Sharma, and is slated to go on air 21 October. The trio will travel through the countries deadliest roads across the rugged mountains and valleys of Himalayas.

“I’m sure it’s exciting news for all our viewers that local content & characters are being featured in formats of global repute. The show best epitomizes what the channel stands for: excellent production values, edge of the seat entertainment with innovative never seen before formats,” said History TV18 VP and head marketing Sangeetha Aiyer.

During harsh winters, remote villages and work camps at the highest army stations of India’s Himalayan states are cut off from the world. To keep them supplied with essential commodities and also bring to fore connectivity issues, our hosts will drive trucks across 1500kms, at a height of 18,380 feet at sub- zero temperatures, for around two weeks.

The journey begins from Manali in Himachal Pradesh and goes up to Turtuk in Ladakh through some of the highest motorable passes in the Himalayan ranges. The show captures the dangerous and life-threatening conditions that truckers have to face while scaling these heights.

“We have associated with HistoryTV18, as we found the concept of the show very challenging and fascinating. It is the perfect format to visually showcase how Bharat Benz trucks are tailor-made for our customers’ needs. They are robust, reliable and the ideal vehicles to handle all kinds of road and weather conditions as well as the toughest of terrains,” added Daimler India Commercial Vehicles product management and network vice president domestic sales Sominder Singh. The trucks used for the shows were vehicles by Bharat Benz.

  • Zee’s new reality show to bring celebs out of comfort zone; Farhan Akhtar to host

Zee’s new reality show to bring celebs out of comfort zone; Farhan Akhtar to host

MUMBAI: The popularity and success of reality shows showcasing various skills and talent on Indian television was a harbinger of sorts for Zee TV to bring the international non-fiction format show I Can Do That to India. What’s more, throw in a few celebrities as contestants and the show’s appeal increases manifold.

Developed by Israel’s Armoza Formats, Zee TV will launch the Indian version of the show on 17 October. What’s more, the channel has also roped in Farhan Akhtar as the host of I Can Do ThatThe weekend show will be aired on Saturdays and Sundays in the 9 pm primetime slot and has a run time of only six weeks.

I Can Do That will have 12 celebrities from different walks of life, who will be seen performing jaw dropping acts. The show will challenge them to outdo each other in a wide range of tasks, from intricate dance choreography to magic and illusion, from flair bar tending to daredevil stunts and more.

The 12 celebrities that the channel has roped in for the show are Dino Morea, Gauahar Khan, Gurmeet Choudhary, Rithvik Dhanjani, Madhurima Tuli, Mandira Bedi, VJs Bani and Andy, Shibani Dandekar, Meiyang Chang, Ranveer Brar and Bharti Singh.

Speaking to Indiantelevision.com on the reasons for investing in an established worldwide format, Zee TV business head Pradeep Hejmadi says, “It’s a format, which is very close to what Zee TV stands for. Zee has always celebrated formats, which identifies the talent in people. The show at its core matches with what we have done so far with our other shows like Dance India Dance (DID) and Saregamapa, which focus on talent. In this show, we aim to pull out the hidden talent from celebrities and take out them of their comfort zone. I Can Do That is a format, which is very close to our DNA in the non-fiction space.”

Throwing light on the reason for choosing Zee’s platform for the international format, Armoza senior creative director – development department Elwin Vizetelly De Groot says, “We are very excited to work with the biggest entertainment channel in India that is Zee Television. India is such an important market for us. I travelled across India and spent a few days working with the team. The basic format of the show is that it’s a story of your favourite celebrities, who will perform amazing acts on stage. We are working very closely with the team of Zee to launch this show here in India.”

Groot further adds, “People will see celebrities doing something different.  They will watch them dancing, singing, sometimes cooking and other things. Our aim was to combine all that we wanted in a show. I Can Do That is a platform where we can showcase amazing talent and something that Indian audiences has never seen before. Zee and Armoza are very excited with the prospects of the show and we believe that it can do really well. It has done very well in other territories and we believe that India is next.”

While there are multiple reality shows on television today, which showcase, celebrate as well as hone various talents, I Can Do That will be different. Talking about the USP of the show, Hejmadi says, “The difference comes in the show from the contestants because automatically the players are people, who come with certain talent. On this platform, people will be seen performing certain kind of things that they have never before done in their lives. It is not just a show, which has celebrities. Usually other shows focus on the strengths of celebrities but in this show, the audience will see them performing unbelievable tasks. And therein lies the difference.”

With the multi-talented Akhtar as the show’s host, Zee TV is banking on his popularity to take the show a notch higher than the rest. “Farhan is a great embodiment of the format. He is multi-talented and has always pushed boundaries to do multiple things. He is great guy, who can stand up with the format and can say I Can Do That,” Hejmadi says.

To push the show at multiple levels, Zee TV will be adopting a 360 degree marketing approach. Hejmadi informs, “There is always an on-air television based campaign and along with that we will go with off-air marketing as well. There is huge digital campaign that we are mounting. The format is such that everyone from kids to very elderly people can enjoy the show, so the campaign is designed to appeal to the masses.”

With Vaseline as the presenting sponsor for I Can Do That, Hejmadi says that advertisers’ response to the new show has been encouraging so far. “We have received an excellent response from them. While we have almost closed all the positions of sponsorship, we are still in discussion with a few advertisers,” he adds.

Speaking on the research carried out for the show, Hejmadi says,  said, “Even as we met the contestants, we were parallelly evaluating the stunts done in the international format. We also looked at different kinds of talent that we should evaluate for each of the players, who were coming on board. So a series of evaluations were done in terms of the kind of acts that people would like to see.”

The reality show format I Can Do That has been popular in countries like the US, Italy and Israel amongst others.
