    Eros Now partners with Visa to expand consumer offering

    MUMBAI: OTT platform Eros Now has partnered with Visa, which allows Visa debit and credit card users in India to avail Eros Now’s massive content library. This includes 12,000-plus movie titles, original shows, music videos, short format content, Quickies, at a discount to the annual Eros Now subscription price.

    This partnership will offer Visa cardholders a discount of 50 per cent on their annual subscription to Eros Now and access to a plethora of entertainment from cult Bollywood movies such as Maine Pyaar Kiya, Rangeela, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanaam to Love Aaj Kal, Tanu Weds Manu, Manmarziyaan, amongst others. The library also entails originals from the house of Eros Now that caters to varied genres such as drama, thriller, comedy, to name a few.  

    According to a 2019 report by Eros Now and KPMG, more Indians are consuming content across an array of digital formats and platforms. The average time an Indian consumer spends on OTT platform is 70 minutes, and the average frequency of access is 12.5 times a week. The average single session duration is 40 minutes. This data thus shows that consumers are spending considerable time watching online content. This partnership with Visa will further enable consumers to choose from varied entertainment options that will help in boosting viewership. 

    Eros Now’s collaboration with Visa will strengthen the payment integration for Eros Now that provides high-quality digital video experiences. At a time when there is unparalleled growth in online payment and digital video streaming platforms, the partnership, exclusive to Visa consumers, will offer a wider range of payment options that they can pay for seamless access to unlimited and superior entertainment content.

    DD’s ‘Janmon ka bandhan’ to boost primetime viewing

    NEW DELHI: As Doordarshan gets a new look, a number of new shows are being and will be aired to boost the viewership.

     

    One such show is Janmon ka Bandhan – Insaani rishton ka taana bana, which will commence at 7:00 pm from 21 November.

     

    The show is based on the premise of an honest IAS officer, Surender Kapoor fighting against the mafia linked with the construction business. While on the family front he is struggling between a mentally disturbed son and sudden loss of his wife. Overwhelmed with all problems he eventually reaches a breaking point. It is at this stage that his three daughters come forward and take responsibility to help the family emerge out of the muddle.

     

    The show is being produced and directed by Prem Chopra Wavelength Pictures.  Rajeev Varma, a renowned actor of ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ fame, is playing the lead character of Surender Kapoor.

     

    With this women-centric family fiction drama, Doordarshan National is looking to underscore the inherent strength of women and girl child; in keeping up with the channel’s ideology of “value addition” in everyday life of the viewers.

    MUMBAI: Alok Nath, the popular film and television star, today joined Twitter. The actor, known for his fatherly roles in the film and television, became a pop culture icon as the Sanskari Babuji on Twitter a few months back, when one of his movies was being aired on television and users began tweeting about his character and his dialogues. In the last six months, there have been close to 2, 00,000 Tweets about him and his TV character.

     

    Alok Nath has spent nearly three decades in the television and film industry and came into limelight in the mega serial “Buniyaad”. He has acted in many hit films like Maine Pyaar Kiya, Vivaah, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Taal, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and many more. Not only that but he has also played role of Sanskari Babuji on various soaps such as Sapna Babul Ka…Bidaai, Yahan Mein Ghar Ghar Kheli.

     

    Alok Nath on joining Twitter said, “I’m excited to join Twitter since people have popularised my character on it and I’m happy to now finally share the real Alok Nath with the world.
