    Kids most benefited genre in Chrome DM week 46

    MUMBAI: With a growth of 1.07 per cent, the kids genre in all India 1 lakh+, marked the highest opportunity to see (OTS) among all categories in week 46 of Chrome Data Analytics and Media. Discovery garnered the highest OTS in kids’ genre with 90.5 per cent.

    The Hindi news genre came in second in the gainers list of OTS with 0.85 per cent; DD News gained the highest OTS with 99.4 per cent growth in HSM excluding the less than 1L-market, followed by English news genre coming in third in the gainers list of OTS with 0.62 per cent in 6 metros market. Loksabha TV garnered the highest OTS in the English news genre with 98.3 per cent.

    OTS is the actual census-based percentage connectivity of a channel spread across 81 million homes, as reported by Chrome DM, across analogue cable, digital cable and DTH.

    The fourth position in the gainer’s list of OTS was grabbed by music in HSM excluding the less than 1L-market with 0.22 per cent. 9X Jalwa raked in the highest OTS in the music genre with 94.3 per cent. Religious genre stood at fifth position in HSM excluding the less than 1L-market with 0.04 per cent by Aastha gaining the highest OTS with 98.2 per cent.

    Sports genre dethrones English GEC in week 32 of Chrome DM

    MUMBAI: With a growth of 31 per cent as compared to last week (31), the sports genre marked the highest opportunity to see (OTS) among all categories in week 32 of Chrome Data Analytics & Media.

    In the sports genre, DD Sports gained the highest OTS with 94.7 per cent in all India 1 lakh+ areas.

    OTS is the actual census-based percentage connectivity of a channel spread across 81 million homes, reported by Chrome DM, across analogue cable, digital cable and DTH. 

    The second position in the gainer’s list of OTS was grabbed by the English GECs genre with a growth of 0.05 per cent in six metros. AXN was the most benefitted channel in this category with 62 per cent.

    The third position in the gainers was garnered by English News genre in six metros. Loksabha TV gained the highest OTS with 96.8 OTS.

    The business news genre was at the fourth position in the list with 2.47 per cent growth and CNBC Awaaz catered to 86.4 per cent OTS in six metros.

    MUMBAI: The Hindi news genre marked the highest opportunity to see (OTS) among all categories in week 43 of Chrome Data Analytics & Media with 0.28 percent growth. In this category, India TV gained the highest OTS with 99.5 per cent and DD News was the second most benefitted in terms of OTS with 99.1 per cent on an HSM (Hindi-speaking market) excluding 1L market basis.

    English movies genre ranked second in the gainers category with a growth of 0.25 per cent OTS in six metros. Movies Now gained the highest OTS with 54.5 per cent whereas Star Movies gained the second slot on the list with 48.4 per cent OTS.

    The third position in the gainer’s list of OTS was grabbed by Hindi movies with a growth of 0.16 per cent on an HSM (Hindi-speaking market) excluding 1L market basis. In this category, OTS of Max was leading the genre with 94.0 per cent whereas Star Gold stood second with 93.8 per cent OTS.

    English news genre pocketed the fourth position in the list with 0.16 per cent growth in which Rajyasabha TV led with 95.2 per cent whereas Loksabha TV grabbed second position with 94.9 per cent OTS in six metros.

    Last but not the least, the fifth position in gainers list is taken by the business news genre with a growth of 0.15 per cent. In this category, Zee Business topped the OTS chart with 85.2 per cent whereas CNBC Awaaz was the second topper with 83.4 per cent in six metros.

    Among the losers, English GEC was the most affected genre with a drop of 0.80 per cent OTS in six metros with Colors Infinity topping the chart with 46.8 followed by Comedy Central with 45.2 per cent OTS.

    Sports genre recorded a fall of 0.72 per cent OTS on an all-India including 1L+ market basis. In this category, DD Sports grabbed highest OTS with 90.3 per cent followed by Star Sports 2 with 82.0 per cent OTS.

    Hindi GEC reserved the third position in the losers list with a drop of 0.43 per cent. Star Utsav and Zee Anmol bagged the top two positions with 99.0 per cent and 96.0 per cent, respectively, on an HSM (Hindi-speaking market) excluding 1L market basis.

    Infotainment took the fourth position in the losers list with a drop of 0.38 per cent. In this category, NGC got first position with 91.2 per cent and History TV 18 reserved the second position with 89.9 per cent OTS on an all-India including 1L+ market basis.

    Last but not the least, Music genre stood at the fifth position with a fall of 0.24 per cent OTS with Sony Mix leading the chart with 90.3 per cent, followed by 9XM with 89.3 per cent OTS on an HSM (Hindi-speaking market) excluding 1L market basis.

    MUMBAI: The English News genre emerged as the most benefitted with 2.36 per cent in six metros with Loksabha TV topping the chart with 94.6 per cent opportunity to see (OTS) in week 34, Chrome Data Analytics & Media reported.

    Next on the list was the English GEC genre in six metros with a growth of 2.08 per cent wherein Colors Infinity lead the genre with 48.3 per cent OTS.

    With a growth of 1.20 per cent, the English movies genre grabbed the third spot in six metros. In this genre, Movies Now stood at number one with 50.3 per cent.

    This was followed by ‘Sports- All India’ genre on the fourth position with 1.12 per cent with DD Sports leading the chart with 95.2 per cent OTS on <1L market basis. ‘Religious’ genre stood at the fifth position with a growth of 0.82 per cent with Sanskar leading the chart with 95.7 per cent OTS on an HSM (Hindi-speaking market) excl <1L market basis.

    MUMBAI: Hindi Movies (Hindi-speaking market) HSM (Exclusive) was the most benefitted genre with 1.36 per cent with Sony Max topping the chart with 93.9 per cent opportunity to see (OTS) in week 27, Chrome Data Analytics & Media reported.

    Next in the tally was the kids genre — all-India genre saw a growth of 0.64 per cent with Nickelodeon leading the genre with 83.6 per cent OTS on an all-India basis.

    This was followed by Hindi News-HSM Exclusive which came third with a growth of 0.64 per cent and India TV lead the chart with 99.5 per cent OTS.

    Last, but not the least, Business News was on the fourth position with 0.62 per cent in six metros with CNBC Awaaz leading the chart with 83.7 per cent OTS.

    Among the losers this week, the English News segment in six metros recorded a fall of 1.17 per cent. Loksabha TV was the most affected channel in the genre with 95.1 per cent.

    Ratings of the English GEC genre in six metros decreased by 1.12 per cent with Colors Infinity leading the genre with 47.2 per cent. In the Infotainment genre, all-India ratings dropped by 1.04 per cent with NGC leading the section with 91.3 per cent.

    Religious – HSM Exclusive and Youth genre grabbed the fourth and fifth spots, respectively, with 0.68 per cent and 0.36 per cent. Sanskar and MTV led the genre with 96.2 per cent and 91.1 per cent OTS, respectively.

    MUMBAI: English GEC genre grew by 0.28 per cent with Colors Infinity emerging as the leader with 48.2 per cent OTS. The English news genre saw a gained of 0.48 per cent in metros, with Loksabha TV leading the tally with 94.8 per cent OTS.

    Meanwhile, witnessing a drop of 0.20 per cent, the Hindi news channels’ genre in the HSM stood at third number in the loser category with India TV scoring 99.2 per cent OTS. Last but not the least, the kids genre too witnessed a decline of 0.24 per cent across India with Cartoon Network leading the space with 84.4 per cent OTS.

    Meanwhile, witnessing a drop of 5.3 per cent, the Hindi news channels’ genre in the HSM stood at third number in the loser category with India TV scoring 99.2 per cent OTS. Last but not the least, the kids genre too witnessed a decline of 3.3 per cent across India with Cartoon Network leading the space with 84.4 per cent OTS.

    Among the toppers of this week, the sports channels’ genre in All India Market noted a growth of 0.70 per cent with DD Sports emerging as the chart-topper with 93.9 per cent OTS. English Movies genre increased by 0.49 per cent with Movies Now leading the list with 48.7 per cent OTS in six metros.

    The Hindi Movies space garnered the fifth slot with 0.38 per cent growth. Star Gold ledu the genre with 93.6 per cent OTS. Hindi GEC was the next in the tally, which witnessed a growth of 0.21 per cent with DD National taking a lead with 98.7 per cent OTS.

  • English news genre grows only 10% in Chrome week 20

    MUMBAI: In week 20, the English movies emerged as the number one genre in six metros with a growth of 34.4 per cent opportunity to see (OTS), according to market researcher Chrome Data Analytics. Movies Now led the section with 48.8 per cent OTS.

    Next on the list was the English GEC genre with a growth of 25.1 per cent OTS. Colors infinity emerged as the channel which benefited the most in the genre with 47.7 per cent OTS.

    The sports genre was next in line, which generated positive ratings and was up by 14.3 per cent OTS with DD Sports being the most benefited channel at 94.7 per cent OTS.

    The English news genre in six metros market saw a growth of 10.6 per cent, wherein Loksabha TV recorded a 94.9 per cent OTS in week 20.

    The kids genre across India registered a growth of 10.0 percent with Cartoon Network leading with 84.5 OTS.

    Amongst the losers of week 20, were the religious channels.. The genre dropped by 5.3 per cent in HSM with Sanskar leading the tally with 95.8 per cent OTS.

    MUMBAI: The last week of 2016, that is, week 52  witnessed English Entertainment emerging as the number one gainer in week 39 of Chrome Data and Analytics. The sector registered 16.0 per cent opportunity to see (OTS) and Colors Infinity led the genre with 45.7 per cent OTS.

    Next in the row is Hindi News in Hindi-speaking market (HSM) which recorded 14.7 per cent of OTS with DD News leading the sector with 98.6 per cent OTS.

    English News genre stood at three number with 10.9 per cent OTS and Loksabha TV bagged the first spot with 93.5 per cent OTS.

    Next in the row is Hindi News in Hindi-speaking market (HSM) which recorded 14.7 per cent of OTS with DD News leading the sector with 98.6 per cent OTS.

    English News genre stood at three number with 10.9 per cent OTS and Loksabha TV bagged the first spot with 93.5 per cent OTS.

    MUMBAI: The sports genre in television channels registered as the only loser in week 46. The sector recorded a drop of 0.1 per cent and saw DD Sports as the leader with 91.7 per cent opportunity to see (OTS).

    On the other hand, with an increase of 0.8 per cent, Hindi movies genre in Hindi-speaking market (HSM) emerged as the number one gainer and Zee Cinema registered 93.1 per cent OTS to claim leadership slot.

    English Entertainment recorded 0.7 per cent increase. Colors Infinity topped the genre with 45.1 per cent OTS.

    Third on the list was the Hindi News genre in HSM market witnessing 0.6 per cent growth. DD News was in pole position in the section with DD News with 98.5 per cent OTS.

    English News section secured fourth position in six metros with 0.5 per cent OTS with Loksabha TV leading in the genre with 93.2 per cent OTS.

    In six metros, English Movies genre registered 0.5 per cent growth with Movies Now leading the chart with 91.7 per cent OTS.
