MUMBAI: The National Association of Television Program Executives’ (NATPE) Educational Foundation is accepting submissions for its annual student video & film production awards, sponsored by the Lippin Family Trust. The deadline for student submissions is 3 March 2004.
Entries need to be a student-produced video or film production and be related to the applicant’s school or university. NATPE co-founder and president of the organization’s Educational Foundation Lew Klein states, “I encourage all university students interested in pursuing a career in television and/or film to use their imagination and create productions to submit for this contest. First and foremost, it will be a valuable learning experience for all entrants, which is the underpinning of the NATPE Educational Foundation. If this year’s submissions are on par with last year’s entries, then we should have yet another exciting time judging some very fine work this year.”
Last year marked the largest number of student participants in the competition’s history and the first time a student from a university outside of the US has won an award.
A $3,000 cash prize will be awarded to the outstanding entry along with a matching donation to the student’s academic department. In addition, the faculty or staff supervisor listed with the winning entry will be included as a Faculty Fellow at NATPE’s annual conference next year. $1,000 will also be awarded to the second-place winner along with a matching cash donation to the student’s academic department.
NATPE is a global, non-profit organization dedicated to the creation, development and distribution of televised programming in all forms, across all platforms. NATPE develops and nurtures opportunities for the buying, selling and sharing of content and ideas.
