    Ratheesh MS joins Starcom as vice president after long GroupM stint

    MUMBAI: Advertising veteran Ratheesh MS has taken charge as vice president at Starcom, the media agency under Publicis Groupe. His appointment follows a brief spell at WPP Media and a near decade with GroupM’s Motivator, where he rose to general manager.

    Ratheesh has built a reputation for steering high profile accounts across auto, telecom, e commerce, insurance and consumer goods. His career spans over 19 years with stints at ZenithOptimedia, Wavemaker, Carat, Lintas Media, MPG Group, Malayala Manorama and Infomedia.

    Among his proudest milestones: conceptualising India’s first car night rally for Maruti Suzuki’s Swift, delivering double digit growth for Jabong.com, and leading Honda Cars’ media win in a multi agency pitch.

    At Starcom, Ratheesh is expected to bring his trademark blend of disruptive growth strategy and meticulous media planning to fuel the agency’s next phase of expansion.

  • Lintas Media Group bags OCL & Eden City’s media biz

    MUMBAI: Lintas Media Group has won the media mandate for OCL and Eden City.

    OCL is the flagship company of Dalmia Group and manufacturers Konark Cement while Eden City Maheshtala is one of the housing projects in South Kolkata.

    The account will be serviced from the Kolkata office of the agency.

    The businesses amount to a cumulative billing of over Rs 120 million, according to a source in the agency.

    LMG EVP-Kolkata Mahesh Motwani said, “Kolkata is a market which is on the path of growth and we are very happy to associate with these reputed brands in the city. We value long term relationships and our growth comes from the continued growth of our clients.”

    Media Group at Kolkata also handles the media mandate for clients like Amul Hosiery, Eveready, PC Chandra, Tidewater, Khadims, Srei and La Opal.

  • Madison bags Enamor’s media biz

    Mumbai: Madison Media Omega has won the media mandate for Gokaldas Intimatewear‘s Enamor.

    The account has been won on the back of a multi-agency pitch in which Maxus, OMD and R K Swamy Media also participated.

    It will be handled out of Madison‘s Bangalore office.

    The incumbent agency on the account was Lintas Media Group.

    Madison World chairman and managing director Sam Balsara said, “We are delighted that Enamor has chosen us and are confident that we will be able to add a lot of value to their business. We are also happy to add a new product category to our portfolio.”

    MUMBAI: Lintas Media Group has appointed Raghav Subramanian as COO.

    He will be joining LMG on 19 December.

    At LMG, he will take on the mantle of running the media business of LMG working with LMG deputy CEO Sudha Natrajan, operating out of Delhi (Gurgaon). He will also be responsible for the Digital offering.

    LMG chairperson and Lynn De Souza said, “I feel it will help greatly in taking LMG‘s product offering to meet the new age consumer‘s needs better. His vast experience in various facets of the complete media product, including Value Added Services, is what we were looking for, for a while.”

    Subramanian added, “I am excited about this challenging new role. Lintas as a brand has enjoyed a great reputation and a pedigree lineage. It will be a delight to be part of the Lintas family.”

    Natrajan added, “I am pleased to have a mind as seasoned and bright as Raghav, joining LMG. His being an old hat in the Delhi business circles, will propel new business initiatives too.”

    Raghav comes in with over 20 years of experience in the business of media, consulting, analytics and research. He has spent a decade in New York, with GroupM, working on large worldwide clients. Post coming back to India a year and a half ago, he has headed Strategy across Vivaki Media Brands.

    Vizeum India appoints Samarjit Rajkumar as senior GM

    MUMBAI: Vizeum India, the media arm of Aegis Group, has appointed Samarjit Rajkumar as senior general manager.

    Vizeum Indian subcontinent managing director S Yesudas stated that the leadership position is fully in place for the current phase. While Rajkumar is in Mumbai and will also be playing a strategic role nationally, Harit is in Delhi and Sreekanth in Chennai.

    Rajkumar started his media career in Indian media research industry by managing TV audience measurement system and large scale consumer and customised media research studies at IMRB.
     
    After working three years at IMRB, Rajkumar moved on to work at Lintas Media, serving clients such as Unilever India, Parle Bajaj Auto and financial clients like HSBC, SBI, ICICI Prudential and Idea Cellular.

    With more than 17 years of experience in media and communication industry, Rajkumar has worked in three fast growing markets: India, China and Vietnam.

    Rajkumar’s previous assignments in China were as GM of key accounts at OMD China (2008-2010) and as one of the Procter & Gamble China account lead lasting five years, at Vivaki Group (Starcom and ZenithOptimedia).

    LMG Kolkata wins Eveready media account

    MUMBAI: Lintas Media Group (LMG) Kolkata has won Eveready Industries‘ Rs 200-250 million worth media account.

    The mandate was awarded following a multi-agency pitch.

    LMG COO NP Sathyamurthy said, “We will put our best foot forward to guarantee holistic approach for our new client.”

    LMG had recently bagged the media duties of Bengal Shriram Hi-Tech City, Srei Infrastructure and National Jute Board. The total billing from these accounts is Rs 500 million.

    Rediffusion Y&R handles the creative duties for Eveready.

    Lintas Media Group wins media duties of Citizen Watches

    MUMBAI: Lintas Media Group Bangalore has won the media mandate of Citizen watches.

    The current size of the account is Rs 250 million, and is expected to grow further.

    Lintas Media Group will handle all forms of media – mass media, Out of home and Internet and mobile.

    The mandate was given after a multi-agency pitch process that involved names like the incumbent Allied Media and Dentsu.

    Says Citizen marketing manager Aditya Sengupta, “We liked LMG‘s thought process and intent to work with them for our media requirements.”

    “Formulating innovative solutions to make a brand click in the lifestyle space is an exercise that completely energises the team at LMG”, says LMG deputy CEO Sudha Natrajan.
