  • RED FM is the official radio partner for LIFWL ’03

    MUMBAI: The Living Media group owned RED FM is the official radio partner for Lakme India Fashion Week with Liberty (LIFWL).
    All other radio stations will be bound by restrictions during the fourth edition of the LIFWL 2003. Sony Entertainment Television (SET), which has secured the electronic rights of the largest and most high profile fashion event in the country, will however be given priority.
    Addressing the inaugural press briefing Fashion Design Council of India executive director Vinod Kaul and IMG event management director Zubin Sarkari said radio station crews would have to abide by very strictly marked out LIFWL guidelines.
    Besides RED FM, others shall not broadcast show-by-show commentary or similar coverage of any LIFWL 2003 material whether on a live or delayed basis, or any other material obtained whilst inside a LIFWL 2003 venue, including interviews, except with respect to press conferences or briefing sessions.

  • FDCI announces schedule for LIFWL ’03

    MUMBAI: The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), the apex body of the Indian fashion design industry has announced the full schedule for Lakme India Fashion Week with Liberty (LIFWL) 2003. The event kicks off on Friday and runs between 18 -24 July at the NCPA auditorium complex in Mumbai. Sony Entertainment Television is the official broadcaster for India’s foremost fashion trade event.

    Each day will kick off with a two hour seminar on Business of Fashion at 11 am. Each day there will be five designer shows at 1 pm, 3 pm 5 pm, 7 pm and 9 pm.

    Fifty seven designers from across the country will showcase their Pr?t-a-Porter (ready-to-wear) or diffusion (a line between ready-to-wear and couture) collections The ramp shows are bifurcated into “Solo” or “2-Designer” shows and a total of 35 shows are scheduled through the week. These shows will be interspersed with interactive seminars and workshops related to make-up, style trends, and other fashion-related topics.

    At 2 pm, DHL will organise another series of seminars every day highlighting the synergies between fashion and logistics management. Lakme Lever and Liberty will conduct a series of workshops with international and national beauty and style experts at 4 pm every afternoon through the week. Lakme will have three workshops titled Watercolours, Water Kissed Skin and Colour Drench andColour Spray. Liberty meanwhile will have four Feet into the World of Fashion workshops.

    While Liberty will be showcasing their international range of lifestyle products for winter 2003 through an exclusive fashion show Liberty Revolution on 20 July , the Lakme Grand Finale unveiling the title sponsor’s Fashion Statement for the year will mark the culmination of the event, with leading designers Wendell Rodricks and Hemant Trevedi.

    LIFWL 2003 is expected to have over 15,000 visitors.

    MUMBAI: Leading shoe manufacturing Liberty Shoes, the associate sponsor for the Lakme India Fashion Week (LIFW) 2003, has announced contests for media personnel who cover the largest and high profile fashion event in the country. LIFWL 2003 will be held in Mumbai between 18-24 July 2003.
     
     

    Every day, starting 18 July 2003, Liberty will announce awards in the category of “Best media photograph of the day” and “Best article of the day”. Mediamen can submit entries to the Media Centre at the Jamshed Bhabha auditorium at Mumbai’s NCPA – the venue of LIFWL 2003.

    A press release says that Liberty will be showcasing their international range of lifestyle products for winter 2003 through an exclusive fashion show titled “Liberty revolution” on 20 July 2003 at 9 pm. The release adds that the new range ‘The Footstylers’, the exclusive new footwear range from Liberty, exemplifies innovation, style and defines true fashion.

    Liberty Shoes executive director Adarsh Gupta was quoted as saying: “We are extremely happy to be involved with India’s biggest fashion event. We have been involved with LIFW during the last three editions through our affiliations with various designers. Our successful experience during this period has convinced us of the great business potential for our lifestyle products and formalising this collaboration as the associate sponsor as the largest and most high profile event in this sector is a logical step forward.”

    The other sponsors for the event include co-sponsors – DHL, Seagram’s Blenders Pride and Hyundai Sonata V6; official broadcaster – Sony Entertainment Television; official sponsor – Foster’s; official hotel and venue – Taj Mahal Hotel and NCPA; official suppliers – Hutch/Orange, RED FM, Pepsi/Aquafina.
