    MUMBAI: A day after announcing their media partner, online shopping portal Yebhi.com announced that Omnicom‘s TBWA will be handling the creative duties. Eleven Brandworks was the incumbent creative agency on the account.

    The brand‘s media duties were awarded to Havas Group‘s MPG.

    Yebhi.com was launched in 2009 and is a home, lifestyle and fashion e-retailer. Till now the communication from the brand has been targeted towards middle and upper middle-class youth without much disposable income with the objective to convey that it offers users the attractive option of availing big brands at a reasonable price.

    MUMBAI: Puma, the global- sport- lifestyle brand, has roped in Indian cricket team all rounder Yuvraj Singh as their brand ambassador.

    Singh will now be the face of Puma‘s new #Love 12 campaign launched especially for Puma and Singh‘s fans.

    Puma India MD Rajiv Mehta said, “Yuvraj Singh is the quintessential athlete for Puma. He epitomises the youth of today with his forthright personality, which exuberates confidence. He is an all rounder and his versatility allows the youth to connect to him instantly. With his talent and charisma, Yuvraj is an aspirational personality and an ideal choice to represent Puma.”

    Tangerine Global inks HDTV entertainment deal with Pennisula Hotels

    MUMBAI: Tangerine Global, a global player in high-definition television (HDTV) programming for the five-star hospitality marketplace, has been selected by luxury group The Peninsula Hotels to provide the media company’s premier HDTV entertainment services to its hotels.

    The contract makes Tangerine Global’s service available as early as this summer to Peninsula’s deluxe properties worldwide, including its flagship hotel, The Peninsula Hong Kong and The Peninsula Chicago. Tangerine Global will present its offering of programming-spanning travel, fashion, lifestyle, adventure and sports-to The Peninsula Hotels’ discerning guests.

    “Our goal is to deliver a compelling entertainment experience to our guests,” says The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels Ltd GM R&D Fraser Hickox, “In addition to its high-definition entertainment on demand, Tangerine Global also offers a blend of satellite, off-air and server delivered content that creates a highly individual mix of programming tailored to each hotel’s specific needs.”

    Zoom appoints Sunil Sahjwani as chief creative & programming officer

    MUMBAI: Lifestyle and glamour channel Zoom’s latest appointment is in keeping with the new initiatives planned for the next quarter. Sunil Sahjwani has been roped in as chief creative and programming officer for Zoom. The programming, production and on air promos (OAP) teams at Zoom will now report in to him.

    With this, Sahjwani will be moving from his current corporate role as chief creative consultant for Bennett & Coleman Co Ltd., ( BCCL) and takes charge of all creative and programming responsibilities at Zoom.

    Commenting on the appointment, Zoom CEO Suresh Bala said, “As Zoom prepares to meet the challenges of becoming a high impact channel, it needs a new dimension of creative leadership to rejuvenate its growth engines and take it to the next level. I believe Sunil Sahjwani, with his experience and expertise is the best person for this role.”

    Sahjwani says, “I am indeed very happy to take up this assignment. Zoom is at a very dynamic stage currently and I think it will be very challenging and exciting to take it forward from here. Zoom has created a unique position for itself in the television space. I’m confident that Zoom will touch even greater heights of success in the days to come.”

    With over 27 years in the areas of advertising, film, radio and television, Sahjwani has worked on several international productions which include shows for BBC’s Channel 4 and CNN.

    Amongst others, he has directed the immensely popular BPL Oye for Channel [V], for which he has won the RAPA, Lions and Screen awards. Sahjwani has also worked with ETC Networks as director of programming as well as VP Creative for Reliance Entertainment. Prior to joining BCCL, Sahjwani was the CEO of the Percept Picture Company.

    Fremantle Media signs deal for ‘Project Runway’ with Discovery Asia

    MUMBAI: Fremantle International Distribution (FID), the distribution arm of global production outfit FremantleMedia, has announced that the hit US reality series Project Runway, has been sold in 21 territories worldwide.

    The Asian channels that picked it up include Discovery Asia, Austalian channel Lifestyle, TVB in Hong Kong and Jak TV in Indonesia.

    For the uninitiated the Emmy-nominated Project Runway gives talented and hungry fashion designers the opportunity of a lifetime – a chance to have their designs shown in front of the global fashion community in New York and displayed in the pages of Elle magazine.

    To earn this honour they have to compete against each other in a series of challenges that will determine who has what it takes to be the next “It” designer. Through each challenge, a designer is eliminated, ultimately leaving one to claim their rightful place in fashion’s spotlight.
