Studio Blo gets its Hollywood script with Chad Greulach in the frame

MUMBAI: Lights, camera… algorithm! India’s Studio Blo, the country’s pioneering AI film studio, is ready to roll on its biggest project yet, a Hollywood partnership with veteran producer Chad Greulach, whose credits stretch across Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and Discovery.

Greulach’s cinematic résumé is no small scroll, he’s worked with names that light up marquees and arenas alike: Leonardo DiCaprio, Snoop Dogg, John Legend, Lenny Kravitz, Gene Simmons and Criss Angel, to name a few. Now, he’s stepping into the world of AI storytelling with Studio Blo to craft original entertainment IPs for the American market where human creativity meets machine precision.

The partnership will see the duo co-develop AI-powered stories and content for studios, music labels, channels and brands, while also expanding Faimous, Studio Blo’s AI-led celebrity IP engine into Hollywood. The move aims to merge AI’s creative horsepower with star-driven storytelling, opening new frontiers in how celebrity and content intersect.

For Studio Blo, the announcement marks another bold step in a journey that’s already caught global attention. Its current slate includes “Warlord”, an AI-generated TV series co-produced with acclaimed filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, which explores the emotional and philosophical edges of AI and human imagination.

“Our collaboration with Chad marks a defining moment in our journey where India will make stories for the world,” said Studio Blo co-founder and CEO Dipankar Mukherjee. “We’re using our proprietary AI tech stack as a creative collaborator with the finest global talent. Chad’s expertise will help us craft AI-first stories that are emotionally rich, visually stunning and globally resonant.”

Greulach, for his part, sees the partnership as the future in motion. “The future of entertainment lies at the crossroads of technology and creativity, and Studio Blo is right at that intersection,” he said. “Dipankar and his team aren’t just experimenting, they’re reimagining storytelling itself. Together, we’ll build entertainment IPs that fuse human artistry with machine intelligence to captivate audiences everywhere.”

As AI reshapes every frame of the creative process from script to screen Studio Blo is positioning itself as India’s breakout player in the global AI entertainment ecosystem, proving that the next big Hollywood story might just be coded in India.

With this alliance, Studio Blo isn’t just crossing continents, it’s blurring the line between imagination and innovation, showing that in the world of film, even intelligence can be artificial but emotion never is.

Leonardo DiCaprio partners with Netflix for release of documentary on endangered gorillas

NEW DELHI: Actor Leonardo DiCaprio and his Appian Way Productions shingle have partnered with Netflix for the release of Virunga, a documentary about endangered gorillas on the Congo that the digital network acquired exclusive subscription-video rights to in July.

DiCaprio will serve as an executive producer on the film, which is slated for release on 7 November in theatres in New York and Los Angeles and in all territories where Netflix is available.

In a review earlier this year at Tribeca, the Variety magazine called it a “rousing, must-see work, filmed amid flying bullets and racist conspirators, provides a dramatic front-row seat to a struggle whose moral integrity proves no guarantee against the superior firepower of greed and corruption.”

“Films like ‘Virunga’ are powerful stories that are a window into the incredible cultural and natural diversity of our world, the forces that are threatening to destroy it, and the people who are fighting to protect it,” said DiCaprio, who is himself an environmental activist.

“Partnering with Netflix on this film is an exciting opportunity to inform and inspire individuals to engage on this topic,” he added.

Directed by Orlando von Einsiedel, the film follows an embattled team of park rangers and the endangered mountain gorillas they protect as they are caught in the crossfire of poachers, militia and industry in Africa’s oldest national park.

“Leo intuitively understands that there is nothing like the power of film to reach people’s hearts and minds,” said Netflix CCO Ted Sarandos.

“With Virunga, we’ll work with Leo to introduce viewers around the world to an incredible, gripping story that will have audiences guessing right up until the final act.”

Zee Studio unveils its brand new ideology-‘See it all’

MUMBAI: One of India’s English movie channels, Zee Studio has unveiled its brand new ideology ‘See it all’ for its viewers. The channel revealed it’s all new look with a newer library of movie collection that offers a range of genres including action, comedy and animation.

Speaking about the new brand strategy Zee Studio and Zee Café executive vice president and business head Anurag Bedi said that their study reflected that with vast globalization, the reach and perception of Hollywood movies has changed over a decade in the country. The study further revealed that English cinema is not limited to a certain niche elite class anymore and the younger generation has a lot of exposure to western entertainment and that has led to massive change in consumption patterns.

He further goes on to add, “With Zee Studio’s refreshed look we aim to give the viewer what he is looking for. Additionally, the research revealed that today’s tech savvy young generation who is major chunk of our viewer base expects greater quality content and a high definition experience from television channels. Hence the effort to renew Zee Studio’s look and content is a landmark moment for our business and brand.”

Throwing light on an extensive marketing plan specially designed for the refresh, Zee Studio and Zee Café marketing head Sharlton Menezes commented, “As part of our 360 degree communication plan, we detailed out a multi-media, multi-touch point campaign to ensure that the refresh delivers the brand promise of ‘See it all’. Larger than life movies, big stars and famous characters are the most tangible strengths of Hollywood, which will be leveraged to endorse the channel’s refreshed imagery.”

Tapping the potential to engage with the youth via a multi-layered engagement platform, this campaign will be present at over 30 trade media agencies across Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. Zee Studio is inviting fans to click pictures with the 10 feet tall Transformer stationed at Cyber City, MPG, Arena, Dentsu, Signature Tower, Cyber Plaza in Delhi and Phoenix mall in Mumbai.

Furthermore, ‘See it All’ will be supported with a social media leg across Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. For 15 days, starting 3 October 2014 the channel has started a ‘See it All” contest for its viewers to tune-in to the 9 pm movie and answer simple questions to win gadgets like iPhones and iPads.

Zee Studio’s new identity was introduced in conjunction with the channel premiere of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol that was telecasted on Friday, 3 October at 1pm and 9 pm respectively.
