    Mondelez India names Nitin Saini as VP of marketing

    Mumbai: Mondelez India has appointed Nitin Saini as vice president of marketing. Nitin will be based out of the company’s headquarters in Mumbai and will be responsible for spearheading the marketing initiatives of the company. Prior to the current role, he served as vice president for the Oreo business, Mondelēz International in the US.

    He will be succeeding Anil Viswanathan, who has been elevated as managing director, Vietnam, Southeast Asia, Mondelēz International.

    Nitin started his career as a management trainee in India and has been a part of the Mondelēz team for 19 years in India, holding regional and global roles across sales and marketing.

    In India, he worked in marketing and sales teams across different portfolios, building experience across brands, categories, and sales verticals. He then moved to a regional marketing role in the Asia Pacific Region and was further elevated to a global role, looking after the Oreo brand, where he helped deliver double digit growth for Oreo, with the brand winning the ‘Kantar-Brand of the Decade’ award at Cannes.

    As the Global Brand director for Oreo, Nitin led Oreo to its best-ever performance across the globe while also crafting the long-term growth strategy for the brand. In his most recent role, Nitin was leading the Oreo portfolio for the US Business unit while being part of the Marketing Leadership team of the BU. Nitin returns to the India business after over three years.

    As VP of marketing for India, Nitin will be a part of the Mondelez India leadership team and will drive the consolidated snacking strategy with holistic management of all marketing levers, including insights, analytics, equity, innovation, and activation, in line with Mondelez International’s “Local first, but not Local only” approach to business.

    Warner Bros. Discovery announces South Asia leadership team

    Mumbai: Warner Bros. Discovery has unveiled its new leadership team for South Asia. The business is led locally by a general manager – South Asia Arjun Nohwar and includes brands such as Discovery, HGTV, Eurosport, Cartoon Network, POGO, Discovery Kids, DC, and the discovery+ streaming service.

    Ruchir Jain has been named head of distribution & Eurosport and heads up the integrated network distribution function. Jain led the finance team at Discovery Network from 2018 to 2021, and then distribution. He continues to lead the Eurosport channel.

    Tanaz Mehta has been appointed as head of ad sales, tasked with growing revenues across all networks in South Asia. Mehta is a seasoned sales leader with deep expertise and a nuanced understanding of the market.

    Uttam Pal Singh will head the kids’ cluster and is tasked with developing a compelling content strategy for growth. In his previous capacity at Discovery Kids, Singh led the team behind successful original IPs, including Little Singham and Fukrey Boyzzz. The combined kids portfolio now includes Cartoon Network and POGO, in addition to Discovery Kids.

    Sai Abhishek was named head of the factual and lifestyle cluster and will be responsible for delivering growth and profitability across the genre. Sai comes with a strong background of leading original productions, programming, and acquisitions.

    “With this exceptional new-look team, Warner Bros. Discovery is well-positioned to achieve our ambition of being the leading and most dynamic media company in the region,” said Nohwar. “All our leaders are looking forward to working closely together across divisions as one united team.”

    Nohwar also paid tribute to two outgoing executives who will be exiting the organisation. Rohit Khetarpal will be leaving the company after 14 years, having been a key member of the legacy WarnerMedia and Turner network distribution team. Abhishek Dutta also departs, having led the legacy WarnerMedia Kids team in South Asia, including programming strategy, acquisitions and original production.

    Other lines of business, shared services and corporate functions that support the wider region will be announced at a later date.

    The new company combines WarnerMedia’s premium entertainment, sports and news assets with Discovery’s leading non-fiction and international entertainment & sports businesses.

    Mumbai: Lodestar UM India on Tuesday announced the appointment of Aditi Mishra as the new CEO of the company. 

    Mishra has been associated with Lodestar UM for over two decades. She started as a management trainee and worn many a hat over the years, driving large client relationships in a business role to leading strategy and product as chief strategy officer of Lodestar UM for the last 10 years. “She is one of the finest strategic minds in the country with a deep understanding and experience of building brands and digital transformation. A valued voice in the IPG network and just the right leader to partner clients into the future,” said the company in a statement.

    The company further announced promotion of Hema Malik to Mediabrands India chief investment officer. In this new role, she will lead the charge for Mediabrands India and foster greater collaboration to bring glory and success to clients and businesses. “Her calm demeanor, strong relationships, and innate ability to extract the best for clients and business through investment planning, partnerships, and negotiation, make her a natural choice for this super critical role at Mediabrands India,” the company said about Malik.

    Malik, too, began her journey with Lodestar UM and has been a strong pillar, leading the operations, clients, and people with aplomb as its COO in Delhi for the last six years. Both Mishra and Malik will continue to be based out of Delhi/Gurgaon, according to the statement.

    Mumbai: Cashify, a homegrown app for selling old gadgets has elevated Siddhant Dhingra as a co-founder and chief business officer- global markets, Akash Chauhan as chief operating officer (COO) and Shubh Darpan is now chief revenue officer (CRO). The following move comes in view of further strengthening its leadership team to scale up the business and pave the way for the next phase of growth.

During his tenure, he strategised and drove the entire device journey from order placement, customer support, order fulfillment and liquidation. In his new role, he will focus more on the expansion of the enterprise solutions and will continue exploring international markets for Cashify.

    Aksh Chauhan joined Cashify as VP for logistics and has been working with Cashify for the last 6.5 years. With his self-driven entrepreneurial leadership skills, he has aided in building Cashify’s robust supply chain network for better control and efficiency to support rapid growth. In his new role, he will be leading Ooperations at Cashify and focus on building the ecosystem for a circular Eeconomy in the used smartphone category.

    Shubh Darpan has been working with Cashify for the last 4.3 years and played an integral role in redefining business with a strong data-led approach. His skills in pricing, customer acquisition & growth, data analytics & BI have led Cashify to grow on a limitless road of profit. In his new role, he will be in charge of pricing, growth & revenue with the primary focus on building the D2C channel for refurbished mobiles.

    Mumbai: SoCheers, a digital-first full-service advertising agency has elevated some of its core team members across verticals, namely content and brand experience. The newly elevated members will now be a part of the senior management team, playing a pivotal role in the decision-making process, said the agency.

    Shivani Kamdar, who completed seven years with the agency this month, has been elevated from the head of content to associate creative director.
