    Starcom Mediavest Group gets Sue Frogley on board

    MUMBAI: Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) has announced that Sue Frogley will join the company as global commercial director.

     

    Responsible for building a strong commercial capability and practice to drive client revenue, Frogley will work across all of SMG’s global network clients, setting a strategic M&A vision and investment strategy. Frogley will help identify and architect new commercial models and trading deals to drive diversification of new revenue sources.

     

    Based in London, Frogley will report to SMG global CEO Laura Desmond.

     

    Frogley joins SMG from Dentsu Aegis Media, where she was most commercial operations president. She was responsible for all commercial negotiations and commercial development at a global level, covering both new and existing clients. Prior to this, Frogley was CFO at Aegis Media Global and Isobar Global, where she built a commercial platform for development of global clients involving large-scale transformation.

     

    “As clients move more toward globalization and as marketplace dynamics are changing at warp speed, Sue will be instrumental in navigating the landscape and maximizing value for our business and for our clients,” said Desmond. “She has a proven track record of long-term value creation, building teams and delivering innovative global commercial solutions. She will help SMG continue our growth trajectory, while developing our commercial market position.”

    Starcom MediaVest Group leads on RECMA’s list

    MUMBAI: Paris-based research agency RECMA (Research Company Evaluating the Media Agency Industry) has named Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) the number one ranked global media network in its 2013 Global Billings Rankings Report for the fourth consecutive year. This report evaluates the overall activity—including buying billings and specialised services—of all global media agencies across 62 countries. 

     

    In 2013, SMG increased its billings by 18.3 per cent, with an industry share of 12.5 per cent. RECMA also named the network number one in the ‘Top 14 Countries’ ranking, which is a key chart in the overall report that accounts for 81 per cent,  of the media agency industry.  In addition, SMG retained its position in the overall regional evaluations, including its top rank in north America and was named the number two agency in Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa and Latin America.

    SMG had its most celebrated year on record in 2013, with 525 product award recognitions. Award highlights included 15 agency and network of the year awards, 24 Cannes Lions, 35 Festival of Media awards (across all galas) and two Effie Grand Prix. Through July 2014, SMG has already been awarded media network of the year at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, along with being named the most effective agency and most effective agency network by the Effie Index at the North American Effie Awards Gala in New York, where Publicis Group also took top honors as Most Effective Holding Company.

    Cannes Lions: Starcom MediaVest Group grabs ‘Media Network of the Year’ award

    MUMBAI: Starcom MediaVest Group has bagged the ‘Media Network of the Year’ award at the ongoing Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Three days into the annual festival, SMG’s total across all categories includes 34 wins and 120 shortlists.

     

    ‘The Media Network of the Year’ win comes as a result of SMG’s three Silvers, nine Bronzes and 14 shortlists in the Media Lions category. Winning campaigns have come from clients including Bank of America, Esurance, Heineken and Samsung, among others.

     

    The win has come less than two weeks after SMG was named the Most Effective Agency and Most Effective Agency Network by the Effie Index at the North American Effie Awards Gala in New York, where Publicis Groupe also took top honours as Most Effective Holding Company. In April, SMG was awarded Agency Network of the Year at the Festival of Media Global Awards in Rome for the second year in a row.
