    Zeel channels most watched Hindi entertainment channels across genres

    BENGALURU: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) Hindi GEC channels – the free to air (FTA) Zee Anmol and flagship Zee TV were the most watched Hindi entertainment – be it GEC or Hindi movies channels, in Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) weekly list of top 10 channels across genres for week 2 of 2019 (Saturday, 5 January 2019 to Friday, 11 January 2019, week or period under consideration). Zee Anmol was ranked second in the list after the Sun Tv Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV and Zee TV was ranked fourth after Star India’s flagship Telugu GEC Star Maa.

    Seven Hindi GECs and one channel each from Hindi Movies, Tamil and Telugu genres made up BARC’s weekly list of top 10 channels across genres for week 2 of 2019. From the network’s perspective, there were four Star India channels, two channels each from Sony Pictures Network India (SPN) and Zeel and one channel each from the Sun TV Network and Viacom18.

    As mentioned above at its normal first rank in week 2 of 2019 was Sun TV with 932.480 million weekly impressions as compared to 1,103.433 weekly impressions in week 1 of 2019. Sun TV also led BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Tamil channels in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry market and three programmes in BARC’s list of top 5 Tamil programmes during primetime in these markets based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week under review were aired on Sun TV.

    Zee Anmol was ranked second in week 2 of 2019 with 828.610 million weekly impressions in week 2 of 2019 as compared to 826.144 million weekly impressions in week 1 of 2019. Zee Anmol was also ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) and was ranked ninth in HSM (U). The Balaji Telefilms produced soaps Kumkum Bhagya and its spinoff Kundali Bhagya were ranked third and fourth respectively in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and first and second respectively in HSM (R). Another two programmes aired on the channel – Mahek and Ek Main aur Ek Tu were ranked third and fifth respectively in HSM (R).

    Climbing up one place to third rank in week 2 of 2019 was Star Maa with 673.002 weekly impressions as compared with 888.726 million weekly impressions in week 1 of 2019. Star Maa was ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu channels in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana market. Four of the five programmes that were aired on Star Maa were present in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in the same market.

    As mentioned above, Zee TV was ranked fourth in BARC weekly list of top 10 channels across genres in week 2 of 2019. The channel had 658.052 million weekly impressions during the period under review as compared to 680.504 million weekly impressions and fifth rank in week 1 of 2019. Zee TV was ranked third in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs’ in HSM (U+R) and fourth in HSM (U), and was ranked seventh in HSM (R). Kundali Bhagya that aired on Zee TV was at fifth rank in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in HSM (U).

    SPN’s flagship Hindi GEC Sony Entertainment Television (SET) moved up three places to fifth rank in week 2 of 2019 with 654.455 million weekly impressions as compared to 619.230 million weekly impressions in week 1 of 2019. SET was ranked second in BARC’s list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and first in HSM (U). The comedy show – The Kapil Sharma Show was ranked fifth and second in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi programmes during primetime in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U) respectively. Further the reality show Super Dancer Chapter 3-Auditions on the channel was ranked fourth in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U).

    Star India’s flagship Hindi GEC Star Plus dropped three places to sixth rank in week 2 of 2019 with 627.380 million impressions as compared to 705.119 million weekly impressions and second rank in week 1 of 2019. Star Plus was ranked sixth in BARC’s weekly lists of top 10 Hindi GECs in in the combined urban and rural Hindi speaking markets or HSM (U+R) and was ranked second in HSM (U) and tenth in HSM (R).

    Another Star India Hindi GEC Star Bharat retained its previous week’s rank of seventh in week 2 of 2019 with 622.664 million weekly impressions as compared to 619.919 million weekly impressions in week 1 of 2019. Star Bharat was ranked fourth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and sixth and fifth in HSM (R) and HSM (U) respectively.

    Viacom18’s flagship Hindi GEC moved up a place to eighth rank in week 2 of 2019 with 615.203 million weekly impressions as compared to 607.973 million weeky impressions in week 1 of 2019 . Colors was ranked seventh in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), eighth in HSM (R) and third in HSM (U). The Balaji Telefim’s produced Naagin 3 and the reality show Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi Jigar Pe Trigger were ranked first and second respectively in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GECs programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R).and third and first respectively in HSM (U).

    Star Indi’s Hindi GEC Star Utsav re-entered BARC’s list of top 10 channels across genres in week 2 of 2019 with 611.019 million weekly impressions. Star Utsav was ranked fifth, second and seventh in BARC’s list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), HSM (R) and HSM (U) respectively.

    SPN’s Hindi movies channel Sony Max also retained its previous week’s tenth rank with 590.513 million weekly impressions as compared with 598.253 million weekly impressions in week 51. Sony Max was ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi Movies channels in HSM (U+R), first in HSM (U) and was ranked fourth in HSM (R). Hindi feature films (HFF) Sarrainodu and Sui Dhaaga were ranked first and second in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi Movies programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U).

    Sun TV continues as most watched channel across genres in first week of 2019

    BENGALURU: The Sun TV Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV continued its almost uninterrupted run as the most watched channels across genres according to the Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) weekly list for week 1 of 2019 (Saturday, 29 December 2018 to Friday, 4 January 2019). It is only during some weeks of the Indian Premier League (IPL) that the channel has to give way to the main sports channel of the network that broadcasts the mega cricketing event.

    Six Hindi GECs, two Hindi movies channels and one channel each from the Tamil GEC and Telugu GEC genres made it to BARC’s weekly list of  top 10 channels across genres during week 1 of 2018 (week or period under review or consideration). From the network’s perspective, BARC’s across genres list for week 1 of 2019 had three channels from Star India, two channels each from Sony Pictures Network India, Viacom 18 Media Pvt Ltd (Viacom 18) and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) and one channel from the Sun TV Network.

    As mentioned above at its normal first rank in week 1 of 2019 was Sun TV with 1,103.433 million weekly impressions as compared to 1,012.658 weekly impressions in week 52 of 2018. Sun TV also led BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Tamil channels in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry market and four programmes in BARC’s list of top 5 Tamil programmes during primetime in these markets based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week under review were aired on Sun TV.

    Also at its previous week’s second rank was Zeel’s FTA Hindi GEC Zee Anmol with 826.144 million weekly impressions in week 1 of 2019 as compared to 785.124 million weekly impressions in week 52 of 2018. Zee Anmol was also ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs’ in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) and was ranked ninth in HSM (U). The channel was the most watched Hindi channel across genres during the week. The Balaji Telefilms-produced soap Kumkum Bhagya was ranked first in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R).  Another two programmes aired on the channel – Mahek and Ek Main aur Ek Tu were ranked fourth and third respectively in HSM (R).

    Star India’s flagship Hindi GEC Star Plus climbed up four places to third rank in week 1 of 2019 with 705.119million impressions as compared to 654.141 million weekly impressions and second rank in week 52 of 2018. Star Plus was ranked second in BARC’s weekly lists of top 10 Hindi GECs in the combined urban and rural Hindi speaking markets or HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (U) and ninth in HSM (R). The awards show – Star Screen Awards 2019 was ranked second and first in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U) respectively.

    Star India’s flagship Telugu GEC dropped a rank in week 1 of 2019 to fourth place with 888.726 million weekly impressions as compared with 782.262 million weekly impressions in week 52 of 2018. Star Maa was ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu channels in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana market. Five programmes that were aired on Star Maa were present in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in the same market.

    Zeel’s flagship Hindi GEC Zee TV also dropped a rank in week 1 of 2019 to fifth place with 680.504 million weekly impressions as compared to 700.671 million weekly impressions in week 52 of 2018. Zee TV was ranked third in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and fourth in HSM (U), and was ranked seventh in HSM (R). Kundali Bhagya that aired on Zee TV was at fourth rank in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and in HSM (U).

    Viacom 18’s Hindi movies channel Rishtey Cineplex also dropped a rank in week 1 of 2019 to sixth place with 638.638 million weekly impressions as compared with 690.626 million weekly impressions in week 52 of 2018. The channel began 2019 with a bang – four of the top five movies in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi movies programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and all the five top programmes in HSM (R) were aired on Rishtey Cineplex. Rishtey Cineplex was the most watched Hindi movies channel in BARC’s across genres weekly list.

    Another Star India pay-TV Hindi GEC Star Bharat also dropped a rank to seventh place in week 1 of 2019 with 619.919 million weekly impressions as compared to 658.078 million weekly impressions in week 52 of 2018. Star Bharat was ranked fourth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and sixth and fifth in HSM (R) and HSM (U) respectively.

    SPN’s flagship Hindi GEC Sony Entertainment Television (SET) climbed up two places to eighth rank in BARC’s top 10 channels across genres weekly list with 619.230 million weekly impressions in week 1 of 2091 as compared to 603.330 million weekly impressions in week 52 of 2018.     SPN’s Hindi movies channel Sony Max also dropped a rank to tenth place in week 1 of 2019 with 598.253 million weekly impressions as compared with 625.252 million weekly impressions in week 51. Sony Max was ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi movies channels in HSM (U+R), first in HSM (U) and was ranked fourth in HSM (R). Hindi feature film (HFF)  Bahubali 2: The Conclusion was ranked first BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi movies programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U).     BENGALURU: At its normal number one position and at third rank in Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) weekly list of top 10 channels across genres in week 52 of 2018 were Sun TV and Star Maa respectively. BARC’s weekly list for top 10 channels across genres for week 52 of 2018 (Saturday, 22 December 2018 to Friday, 28 December 2018) had five Hindi GEC, two channels each from the Hindi movies and Telugu genres, and one channel from the Tamil GEC genre. From the network’s perspective, there were three channels each from Star India and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel), two channels from Sony Pictures Network India (SPN) and one channel each from the Sun TV Network and Viacom 18 Media Networks Pvt Ltd (Viacom 18).

    As mentioned above at its normal first rank in week 52 of 2018 was Sun TV with 1,012.658 million weekly impressions as compared to 973.093 weekly impressions in week 51. Zee Anmol was also ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs’ in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) and was ranked ninth in HSM (U). The channel was the most watched Hindi channel across genres during the week. The Balaji Telefilms produced soap Kumkum Bhagya was ranked first in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R).  Another two programmes aired on the channel – Mahek  and Ek Main aur Ek Tu were ranked fourth and third respectively in HSM (R).

Two programmes that were aired on Zee TV- Kumkum Bhagya, and its spinoff Kundali Bhagya were at fifth and third ranks respectively in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U). Kundali Bhagya was ranked fourth respectively in HSM (U+R).

    Viacom 18’s Hindi movies channel entered BARC’s across genres weekly list in week 52 of 2018 with 690.626 million weekly impressions at fifth rank. The channel ended 2018 with a bang – all the top five movies in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi movies programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) were aired on Rishtey Cineplex. Rishtey Cineplex was the most watched Hindi Movies channel in BARC’s across genres weekly list.

    Star India’s pay TV Hindi GEC Star Bharat dropped a place from the previous week’s fifth rank to sixth rank in week 52 of 2018 with 658.078 million weekly impressions as compared to 693.134 million weekly impressions in week 51. Star Bharat was ranked third in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and sixth and fifth in HSM (R) and HSM (U) respectively. The Hindi mythology Radhakrishn on Star Bharat was ranked fifth in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GECs programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R).

    Star India’s flagship Hindi GEC Star Plus dropped four places from the previous week to seventh place in week 52 of 2018 with 654.141 million impressions as compared to 764.975 million weekly impressions and second rank in week 51. Star Plus was ranked fourth in BARC’s weekly lists of top 10 Hindi GECs in in the combined urban and rural Hindi speaking markets or HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (U) and ninth in HSM (R).

    Zeel’s flagship Telugu GEC Zee Telugu rose two spots to eighth rank in week 52 of 2018 with 634.910 million weekly impressions as compared to 529.277 million weekly impressions in week 50. The channel was ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu channels in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana market.

    SPN’s Hindi Movies channel Sony Max also dropped a couple of spots to ninth rank in week 52 of 2018 with 625,252 millon weekly impresions as compared with 575.714 million weekly impressions in week 51. Sony Max was ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi Movies channels in HSM (U+R), first in HSM (U) and was ranked fourth in HSM (R). Hindi feature films (HFF) Sui Daaga, Bahubali the Beginning and Son of Satyamurthy were ranked second, third and fifth respectively in HSM (U).

    SPN’s flagship Hindi GEC Sony Entertainment Television (SET) re-entered BARC’s top 10 across genres weekly list in week 52 of 2018 at tenth rank with 603.330 million weekly impressions. SET was ranked fifth in BARC’s list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and second in HSM (U). The reality show Indian Idol on the channel was ranked third and first in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GECs programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U) respectively.

    BENAGLURU: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) free to air (FTA) Hindi GEC Zee Anmol was the most watched Hindi channel across genres in week 51 of 2018 (Saturday, 15 December 2018 to Friday, 21 December 2018, week or period under review). Overall, the channel was ranked second, just behind the regular incumbent of rank one – the Sun TV Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV during the week under review in Broadcast Audience Research Council of India’s (BARC) weekly list of top 10 channels across genres in week 51 of 2018. Hence Zee Anmol was the most watched Hindi channel – be it the GEC or the movies genre.

    Six Hindi GECs, two Telugu channels and one channel each from the Hindi Movies and Tamil genres made up BARC’s list of top channels across genres (across genres list) in week 51 of 2018. From the network’s perspective, there were four channels from Star India, three channels from Zeel and one channel each from Sony Pictures Network India (SPN), Sun TV and Viacom 18 that made up BARC’s across genres list during the period under review.

    At its normal first rank in week 51 of 2018 was Sun TV with 973.093 million weekly impressions as compared to 1972.898 weekly impressions in week 50. Sun TV also led BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Tamil channels in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry market and three programmes in BARC’s list of top 5 Tamil programmes during primetime in these markets based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week under review were aired on Sun TV.

    Zee Anmol climbed up a rank to second place in week 51 of 2018 with 766.527 million weekly impressions as compared to 780.784 million weekly impressions in week 50. Zee Anmol was also ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) and was ranked ninth in HSM (U). The Balaji Telefilms produced soap Kumkum Bhagya was ranked first in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R). Star Plus was ranked second in BARC’s weekly lists of top 10 Hindi GECs in the combined urban and rural Hindi speaking markets or HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (U) and eighth in HSM (R). The 4 Lion Films soap Kulfi Kumar Bajewala aired on Star Plus was present in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes in HSM (U) during primetime  based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat).

    Zeel’s flagship Telugu GEC Zee Telugu dropped a place to tenth rank in week 51 of 2018 with 529.277 million weekly impressions as compared to 563.158 million weekly impressions in week 50.     BENGALURU: Half the channels in Broadcast Audience Research Council of India’s (BARC) weekly list for the ten most watched channels across genres in week 50 of 2018 (Saturday, 8 December 2018 to Friday, 14 December 2018, week or period under review) were from the Star India Network. This was the week during which election results for five Indian states were announced. Besides the Star India channels, there were three channels from Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) and one channel each from the Sun TV Network and Viacom 18 in the week under review. From the genres perspective all the ten channels were GEC, there were six Hindi GEC channels and two channels each from the Tamil and the Telugu genres.

    Star India’s flagship Hindi GEC Star Plus was ranked second in the list, behind the Sun Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV and hence was the most watched Hindi channel across genres during the period under review.

    At its normal first rank in week 50 of 2018 was Sun TV with 972.898 million weekly impressions as compared to 1,027.961 weekly impressions in week 49. Sun TV also led BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Tamil channels in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry market and three programmes in BARC’s list of top 5 Tamil programmes during primetime in these markets based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week under review were aired on Sun TV.

    Climbing up a place to second rank in week 50 of 2018 was Star Plus with million impressions as compared to 785.322 million weekly impressions in week 49. Star Plus was ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in the combined urban and rural Hindi speaking markets or HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (U) and eighth in HSM (R). The 4 Lion Films soap Kulfi Kumar Bajewala and the longest running soap in terms of number of episodes, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai aired on Star Plus were present in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes in HSM (U) during primetime  based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat).

    Dropping a place to third rank was Zeel’s free to air or FTA Hindi GEC Zee Anmol in week 50 of 2018 with 780.784 million weekly impressions as compared to 849.099 million weekly impressions in week 49. Zee Anmol was also ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) and was ranked ninth in HSM (U).     BENGALURU: Two Hindi GECs from the Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) stable – free-to-air or FTA Zee Anmol and flagship pay TV channel Zee TV were once again the second and third most watched channels across genres in 2018 in week 48 (Saturday, 24 November 2018 to Friday, 30 November 2018). Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) data for the week shows that the Sun TV Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV was the most watched channel across genres during the week under review. This makes Zee Anmol and Zee TV the most watched Hindi channels during the week – be they GEC or Hindi movies genres.

    According to BARC data for week 48 of 2018, four Star India channels, three channels from Zeel, two channels from Sony Pictures Network India (SPN) and one channel from the Sun TV Network made up the list of top 10 channels across genres. There were seven Hindi GECs, two Telugu GECs and one Tamil GEC in the list of top 10 channels across genres.

During the week under review the first five ranks order was the same as in the previous week.

    Zee Anmol again most watched Hindi channel across genres

    BENGALURU: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd's (Zeel) free to air (FTA) Hindi GEC Zee Anmol was ranked second, as in the previous week,  in Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) weekly list of top 10 channels across genres in week 46 of 2018 (Saturday, 10 November 2018 to Friday, 16 November 2018). At its usual place at first rank in BARC’s weekly list for week 46 of 2018 was the Sun TV Network’s flagship Tamil GEC Sun TV. Hence, Zee Anmol was the most watched Hindi channel, be it Hindi GEC or Hindi movies during the week under review.

    Seven Hindi GECs and one channel each from the Hindi movies, Tamil and Telugu channels made up BARC’s weekly list of top 10 channels across genres in week 46 of 2018. From the network’s perspective, as has also become a norm, there were four channels from Star India, two channels each from Sony Pictures Network India (SPN) and Zeel and one channel each from the Sun TV Network and Viacom18.

    As mentioned above, at its normal first rank in week 46 was the Tamil GEC Sun TV with 935.190 million weekly impressions as compared to 1,116.456 million weekly impressions in week 45 of 2018. Sun TV also led BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Tamil channels in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry market and four programmes in BARC’s list of top 5 Tamil programmes during primetime in these markets based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week under review were aired on Sun TV.

    At second place was Zee Anmol in week 46 of 2018. The channel scored 775.164 million weekly impressions as compared to 815.684 million weekly impressions in week 45. Zee Anmol was also ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in the combined urban and rural Hindi speaking markets or HSM (U+R) and HSM (R) and was ranked ninth in HSM (U). The Balaji Telefilms produced soap Kumkum Bhagya was ranked second in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and was ranked first in HSM (R).  Another two programmes aired on the channel – Mahek was ranked third  and Ek Main Aur Ek Tu was ranked fifth in HSM (R).

    Star India’s pay-TV channel Star Bharat climbed up to third rank in week 46 of 2017 from seventh rank in the previous week. The channel scored 722.909 million weekly impressions in week 46 as compared to 668.070 million weekly impressions in week 45. Star Bharat was ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), fourth in HSM (R) and was ranked fifth in HSM (U). The Hindi mythology Radhakrishn on the channel was ranked fifth in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GECs programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R).

    Star India’s flagship Hindi GEC Star Plus retained its previous week’s fourth rank in week 46 of 2018 with 696.102 million impressions as compared to 683.120 million weekly impressions in week 45. Star Plus was ranked sixth in BARC’s weekly lists of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R) and was ranked second in HSM (U) and ninth in HSM (R). The 4 Lion Films soap Kulfi Kumar Bajewala aired on Star Plus was present in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime  based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in HSM (U) at fourth rank.

    Zee TV climbed up a place in week 46 of 2018 to fifth rank as compared to sixth place in week 45. Zee TV scored 694.459 million weekly impressions in week 46 of 2018 as compared to 681.144 million weekly impressions in week 45. Zee TV was ranked fifth in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), seventh in HSM (R), and fourth in HSM (U) during the week. Two programmes that were aired on Zee TV- Kumkum Bhagya, and its spinoff Kundali Bhagya were at fourth and third ranks respectively in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (U+R) and third and second respectively in HSM (U).

    Dropping three places to sixth rank in week 46 of 2018 was Star India’s flagship Telugu GEC Star Maa with 679.864 million weekly impressions as compared with 693.071 million weekly impressions in week 45. Star Maa was ranked first in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu channels in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana market. Five programmes that were aired on Star Maa were present in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Telugu programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in the same market.

    Star India’s FTA Hindi GEC Star Utsav dropped two places to seventh rank in week 46 of 2018 with 678.124 million weekly impressions as compared to 681.541 weekly impressions in week 45. Star Utsav was ranked third in BARC’s list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), and in HSM (R) and was ranked seventh in HSM (U).

    SPN’s women focused Hindi GEC Sony Pal re-entered BARC’s across genres list in week 46 of 2018 with 664.2681.54159 million weekly impressions. Sony Pal was ranked seventh in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), second in HSM (R) and was ranked eighth in HSM (U). The sitcom Tarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah on Sony Pal was ranked second in BARC’s weekly list of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in the week in HSM (R).

    SPN’s Hindi movies channel Sony Max dropped one place to rank nine in week 46 of 2018 with 644.646 million weekly impressions as compared to 630.586 million weekly impressions in week 45. Sony Max was ranked first in BARC’s weekly lists of top 5 Hindi movies channels in HSM (U+R), and HSM (U) and was ranked fifth in HSM (R). The Hindi Feature Films (HFF)  – World Television Premier or WTP Raj Mahal 4,  HFF-Sooryavansham

    WTP-HFF-Nawabzaadev and HFF-DJ were ranked second, third, fourth and fifth respectively in BARC’s list of top 5 Hindi movies programmes during primetime  based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in HSM (U).

    Dropping down a rank was Viacom18’s flagship Hindi GEC Colors in week 46 of 2018 with 642.486 million weekly impressions as compared to 621.799 million weekly impressions in week 45. Colors was ranked seventh, tenth and third in BARC’s weekly list of top 10 Hindi GECs in HSM (U+R), HSM (R) and HSM (U) respectively. The Balaji Telefilms produced third season of the supernatural drama Naagin 3 was ranked first in BARC’s lists of top 5 Hindi GEC programmes during primetime  based on average rating across all airings (original and repeat) in HSM (U+R) and HSM (U).

    Zee TV gets ratings boost from Zee Rishtey Awards

    MUMBAI: Zee TV's recently concluded annual awards property, Zee Rishtey Awards, clocked the highest viewership ratings across award shows that took place in the last two years. As per the recently released BARC HSM weekly data (Urban + Rural) for the week 44 '18, it secured a viewership of 5495 TVTs, which is the highest across awards shows in the category.

    The company attributeed the award show and its fiction shows for the increase in ratings. The Zee Rishtey award was presented by Dabur Almond Hair Oil, co-powered by Nerolac Paints, Brooke Bond Red Label and Himalaya Anti- Hairfall Shampoo; special partner Dixcy Scott, Jewellery partner Malabar Gold and Diamonds; partnered by Parle Milano.

    Along with the success of Zee Rishtey Awards, three out of five weekday top fiction shows (Urban numbers) are from Zee TV – Kundali Bhagya with 7674 TVTs, Kumkum Bhagya with 6374 TVTs and Ishq Subhan Allah with 5700 TVTs. Zee TV has also been a consistent slot leader at 7 pm (Yeh Teri Galiyaan), 8 pm (Guddan… Tumse Na Ho Paega), 9:30 pm (Kundali Bhagya) and 10:30 pm (Aapke Aa Jaane Se) at HSM – (Urban + Rural) in the last four weeks- wk 41 to wk 44’18.
