    Where and when can kids tune in on Holi

    MUMBAI: It’s that time of the year again when we celebrate the various shades in the spectrum that life is. Holi the festival of colors is knocking at your door; urging everyone to embrace it with open arms and hands full of Gulal. Keeping up with their traditions, several Kids Entertainment Channels have something prepared for the many tiny tots who plan to stay home and enjoy the festival on television. 

    Pogo TV:Turner International India’s Pogo TV is all set to make the day memorable for the kids with Rang Barse — a grand affair with  Chhota Bheem and his Dholakpur ki toli along with Mighty Raju. The iconic characters are to launch a TV Special Rang Barse on 27 March 2016 at 12pm  and 6 pm. The fun begins on 23 and 24 March as Pogo brings to its fellow fans a special watch & win contest that will run all day on Holi.

    Bags full of exciting prizes are kept in store for the lucky winners to grab onto in this colourful ride. The characters and their friends are all in the mood to get on an escapade, not letting anyone leave without being drenched in their masti. While they are seen celebrating with colours & music, there are evil forces present who want to turn the town colourless with their acts. Bheem’s strength & Raju’s intelligence combined will take the evil forces down.

    Discovery Kids: Discovery Kids opens its doors for all its young fans to celebrate Holi with Kisna and his friends. Doubling the joy and fun for kids, Discovery Kids will present a special Kisna episode – Bura na mano holi hai in which Kisna and his friends will celebrate the festival of colours. The episode, airing on 24 March, 9  am to 10 pm,  will revolve around Kisna and his friends when they visit his uncle in Nandgaon to celebrate Holi with his family and cousins. Kids will witness flavors of Holi and the group of friends celebrating the festival with water, colors, sweets and lots of fun.

    During the celebrations, Kisna and his friends will take up the challenge of winning the honorable flag in the competition arranged by the Mukhiya of Nandgaon. To reach the flag, kids will have to walk through a trap surrounded by people waiting to colour them from the roofs of their houses. The older group of kids who have been winning the competition every year in Nandgaon are confident that they will win this time as well.

    Discovery Kids partners Rapid Metro Gurgaon for ‘Joy Express’

    MUMBAI: Discovery Kids has joined hands with Rapid Metro Gurgaon to launch a first-of-its-kind consumer engagement initiative called Discovery Kids Joy Express.

     

    This joy ride will begin from from Sikanderpur Rapid metro station on 19 December, 2015 and will run on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 – 4 pm.

     

    The Discovery Kids Joy Express will be a unique touch point for kids to have fun while they learn on-board. The ride will deliver an enriching experience for kids with creative games, art & craft, puppet & magic show and quiz. Adding to the attraction will be kids’ favourite superhero Kisna, who will meet and greet with kids on-board the metro. Special joyrides will also be held for for schools, NGOs and corporates.

     

    The tickets are priced at Rs 250 for kids and Rs 100 for the accompanying parent/adult and can be booked online on BookMyShow.com, or by calling on 0124-2800028 and at Sikanderpur Rapid metro station.

    MUMBAI: Discovery Kids along with Creative Children Media, presents India’s largest kids and family event – World Children Expo 2015 (WCE) from 14-16 August at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon. The 5th edition of the expo will bring fun, games and a lot of excitement for kids and families. India’s favourite superhero Kisna will do special performances at 2 pm, 4 pm & 6 pm each day.

    Discovery Kids joins Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat campaign

    MUMBAI: Kids channel Discovery Kids has received praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for its support to the Swachh Bharat campaign. In his tweet, Modi praised Discovery Kids’ initiative and expressed confidence that it will inspire many others to join in making India clean.

    Discovery Networks Asia Pacific executive vice president and general manager, South Asia & Southeast Asia Rahul Johri said, “It is a great honour to be appreciated by Respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Discovery Kids believes in entertaining and enriching the lives of children through its programmes and viewer initiatives.      NEW DELHI: It’s time for celebrations at Discovery Kids. It has claimed that its biggest launch of the year  – Kisna – has done wonders amongst the kids. Result, increasing the channel’s viewership by 66 per cent.

    NEW DELHI: The Discovery Kids channel is going all out to popularise its new animation series ‘Kisna’ as it is an India-based series and is a ‘driver show’.

     

    told indiantelevision.com on the sidelines of a press meet on the launch of the new series by, and series maker Rahul Johri and renowned filmmaker Ketan Mehta that the percentage of marketing was very high for this show.

     

    Discovery Channel Asia Pacific VP marketing Rajiv Bakshi  said while the series has already been promoted for almost a month on all Discovery channels, it will now be promoted on other channels as well as on billboards and through school activities. While Facebook was being used to promote the series among adults so that they could encourage the young to see it, the social network was not available to those under 18 years of age.

     

    Filmmaker Ketan Mehta said that the aim of the series was to impart education and entertainment at the same time. He said the name ‘Kisna’ had been used because it had an association with everyone in the subcontinent, but the series would be contemporary and every episode would also have some education value. Thus, it was not the story of Lord Krishna.

     

    The series, produced by Cosmos Entertainment and Maya Digital Studios, would be telecast from 19 October at 2 pm every Friday in English, Tamil and Hindi. It would be repeated at 6 pm.

     

    Discovery’s current portfolio in India includes 11 channels – Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Investigation Discovery, TLC, Discovery Kids, Discovery Science, Discovery Tamil, Discovery Turbo, Discovery HD World, TLC HD World and Animal Planet HD World – apart from a Discovery Channel Magazine.

     

    Apart from the three High Definition channels – Discovery World, TLC World and Animal Planet World – Investigation Discovery (ID) was launched early this month and carries true stories of crime and their investigation. Though the stories are all American, they have been dubbed in Hindi.  Each story is complete in itself.
