    Vikas Khanna appointed cluster head emerging markets at Jiostar

    MUMBAI: Vikas Khanna has been appointed as cluster head for emerging markets at JioStar, bringing over 25 years of experience in media and entertainment. Known for driving business growth and scaling revenue above Rs 250 crore, Khanna has excelled in profit center-management, public policy advocacy, and sales across print, radio, television, and live events.
    Previously, Khanna led critical clusters at Viacom18, including Colors Marathi and Colors Gujarati, achieving significant revenue growth. He was in the driver’s seat doing sales for the kids’ cluster for five years, first only for the north and  east, and then on a national level.  His assignment with Viacom18 kept him occupied for 17 years in all. His strategic focus on analytics, collaboration, and team leadership has consistently delivered strong results. 

    Khanna’s expertise also includes launching branded content solutions, fostering government partnerships, and spearheading innovative revenue streams in the media industry. A graduate of Delhi University, with further qualifications from the Indian School of Business and Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan,  he has now moved to Mumbai from Gurugram.

    Sun TV gives additional charge of Sun Life to kids cluster head Kavitha Jaubin

    MUMBAI: Sun TV cluster head of kids channels Kavitha Jaubin has been given additional responsibility to manage its second Tamil GEC, Sun Life. Jaubin will continue in her existing role of head content acquisition and kids channels of Sun TV Network.

    Sun TV Network had revamped its hybrid channel Sun Life as a second Tamil GEC in October 2018. The channel has 24 hours of original content a week. It targets youth in 18-30 age-groups and has a mix of fiction, non-fiction content and reality show content.

    Jaubin commenced her career in the year 1999, as a copy writer at Ogilvy & Mather. Within less than a year, she joined UTV as a script writer. She then joined K Balachander’s Minbinbangal as a producer. After three years of her stint as a producer, she joined Star Vijay Television as a director, writer and served the company for four years. Before joining Sun TV network, she worked with 92.7 BigFM as executive producer in 2006. After a year she joined Sun TV Network.

    Nickelodeon to inspire kids to save the planet through ‘The Big Help’

    MUMBAI: Nickelodeon’s ‘The Big Help’ is back to encourage kids to come forward and take steps towards a greener environment. An international initiative in its fifth year in India, The Big Help, has helped millions of kids across 27 countries make a difference to the planet with their efforts. The pro-socio movement aims at inspiring children to take real action to save the Mother Earth.

    As one of the leading kids’ franchise, Nickelodeon’s endeavor is to motivate kids to play an active role in saving the planet. The pledge will reflect on the users’ profile page thereby encouraging their friends to come forward and participate in the movement. The month long initiative will culminate on Earth Hour on March 29th, with the city that has the maximum number of kids taking the pledge being honoured as ‘India’s Greenest City’.
