‘The Missing’ season 2 premieres on Star World Premiere HD

MUMBAI: After a successful run with series of the year like Westworld and This is Us, Star World Premiere HD is all set to premiere season 2 of the mystery thriller The Missing. The show will air on 13 December at 10 pm.

The season 1, about a father’s years-long quest to find his 5-year-old son who disappeared during a family holiday in France, received rave reviews from around the world. The anthology series is now back with a dramatic and riveting season 2 as detective Julien Baptiste returns to pursue the case of Alice Webster played by Abigail Hardingham. In 2003, Alice was abducted from an English school near a military base in Eckhausen, Germany. And now, 11 years later, she stumbles back in to the same town having apparently escaped her captors. And we face the ultimate question of what happened to her?

Alice’s sudden disappearance 11 years ago left her family in trauma. Her father, Sam became emotionally wrecked and grew apart from the rest of his family. Alice’s brother Matthew, who was the last person to see his sister before she was abducted, is all grown-up but his behavior has become increasingly erratic. Gemma (Alice’s mother) still carries around the grief of not knowing the truth about what happened to her daughter.

Julien Baptiste, the renowned French missing persons detective, finds himself unable to let go of his past cases in order to settle into retirement. The return of Alice Webster is an event that goes right to his heart, and he races out of his own jurisdiction to pursue a 12 year-old case that he refused to let die.

The thriller show also stars David Morrissey, Keeley Hawes, Laura Fraser, etc

HBO Defined to premiere ‘The Casual Vacancy’

MUMBAI: HBO Defined is all set to premiere the three part miniseries The Casual Vacancy, which is based on the novel by J.K. Rowling.

The first part of the miniseries will premiere in India on 28 April, while the remaining two episodes will be aired on 29 and 30 April at 10 pm.

The Casual Vacancy is directed by Jonny Campbell and written by Sarah Phelps. The ensemble of actors is led by Michael Gambon, Julia McKenzie, Keeley Hawes, Rory Kinnear, Rufus Jones, Emily Bevan, Simon McBurney, Monica Dolan and introduces Abigail Lawrie in her acting debut.

The miniseries is executive produced by Paul Trijbits, Rick Senat, Neil Blair and Rowling and produced by Ruth Kenley-Letts.

The Casual Vacancy is the story of a village tearing itself apart, revealing the townspeople’s idiosyncrasies, and addressing social responsibility and one’s response to the poor and disadvantaged. At times darkly funny, it portrays a town whose residents are selfishly stuck in their beliefs and traditions, unaware they have the power to change. This sadly comical selfishness comes to play an important role as events unfold.
