    Canon India celebrated Father’s Day with#MemoriesRecaptured campaign

    MUMBAI: Celebrating the occasion of Father’s Day, Canon India brought alive the magic of missed memories and milestone events for fathers by giving them an opportunity to recreate those special moments. Understanding the sentiment of father being the first superhero to their children, Canon India took the initiative to recreate the magical moments from their lives where he was dearly missed, and gift them back a joyous moment that would have been lost in the pages of time.

    The campaign, created by Dentsu Webchutney, was launched a week prior to Father’s Day, and ran across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for a span of eight days, featured teaser videos that showed the audience how Canon India would make it possible to recreate the missed magical memories for the users.

    The campaign also featured a digital video titled ‘Memories Recaptured’ which took audiences through the story of a 10-year-old who missed her father’s presence on one of her birthdays. The recreation of the daughter's birthday with the presence of the father took viewers back in time to experience the precious moments shared between the father and daughter.

    The video was well received by the users, garnering over a million views. The main phase of the campaign went live on 13 June 2019 with the online contest receiving 500 entries, across the aforementioned social media platforms. The campaign successfully achieved an engagement of 0.9 million across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram reaching out to 7.5 million users.

    Speaking about Father’s Day celebrations, Canon India president and CEO Kazutada Kobayashi said, “With an intent to ensure customer delight, I am optimistic that our Father’s Day campaign was successful in delivering smiles to our consumers, through our efforts to celebrate a momentous and special day in every individual’s life. Through ‘Memories Recaptured’ campaign, we have taken yet another step to propagate the concept of ‘Click and Print’, thereby enhancing the imaging culture in the country. I appreciate the users for their hearty participation and hope that our fans and followers will continue to keep the spirit of clicking and preserving memories alive.”

    Highlighting the campaign, Canon India vice president, consumer imaging and information centre Eddie Udagawa said, “We at Canon India believe that the relationship between a father and a child are an integral part of every family. We also firmly believe that memories are best captured by cameras and relived by printing and keeping them alive. Through this campaign, we wanted to highlight the importance of this emotional bond by bringing alive the magic of missed memories and milestone events for fathers and recreating those special moments.”

    Furthermore, Canon encouraged the audience to share some prized moments from their lives which their father missed, on their social media platforms and tagging Canon India. Canon presented 5 lucky individuals with the most interesting stories, the opportunity to recreate those missed moments and bringing back to life the magical experience of the occasion with their father.

  • Canon India’s CSR in Bhiwandi village

    MUMBAI: Canon India Pvt. Ltd, India’s leading Digital Imaging Company, celebrated yet another milestone, with the completion of two successful years of Karanjoti Village’s adoption under its flagship CSR initiative- Adopt a Village. With a vision to contribute to the societal ecosystem, Canon India had adopted Karanjoti Village in Bhiwandi (Thane) near Mumbai in April 2015.

    In sync with the corporate philosophy of Kyosei, signifying living and working together for the common good, Canon India had adopted Karanjoti village to redefine the lives of people in and around the village by providing them with facilities for a well-developed and sustainable living. Situated near Mumbai, Karanjoti Village has seen numerous noteworthy developments, since its adoption. To mention a few, improved basic facilities & infrastructure have been installed at village school for making it child-friendly and generating interest in children to reduce dropouts. Post the intervention, school children are provided with basic health amenities like clean and hygienic toilets and safe drinking water facility. E-learning has been introduced to get children interested in education. Teaching aids such as charts (for science), maps (social studies), formulas (mathematics), and books related to various other subjects have been provided.

With Karanjoti completing two years as part of the Canon family, it is a matter of pride for us to witness the outcomes of our various endeavours.”

Our employees, being responsible citizens understand the impact their contribution can make to the lives of young children in the villages. Under ‘Canon Involve’, they continuously visit the villages to interact with the children and villagers to create awareness and educate them about the basics of living a holistic life. We aspire to continue dedicated efforts in various villages as to achieve an all-round development for the community,” added Kobayashi.

    Canon marked the second anniversary of its association with Karanjoti, with its Mumbai office employees visiting the villagers to celebrate the special occasion. ‘Canon Involve’ endeavor witnessed comprehensive engagement between the children and the employees. Activities were conceptualized on the subject of ‘Summer Fun’, where the children made interesting and creative drawings, with their upcoming summer vacations as the backdrop. Learning material was provided to the participating children to encourage their interest in drawing. Employees joined the children while coloring their creatives and shared fond memories of their summer vacations. Employees also educated the children on the subject of ‘Team-Spirit’, encouraging the children to stay together with harmony, where they learn and grow together. This engaging session was wrapped with a cake cutting ceremony, rejoicing the milestone and envisioning a prosperous tomorrow for the young children and their families.

    In the span of two years, Karanjoti has witnessed discernible impacts under four core pillars of Canon India’s CSR policy, including Education, Eye Care, Environment and Empowerment. Capacity building in the school has led to students returning to the village school, resource centre with a non-formal education teacher to impart computer literacy, art and craft skills and encouraging sports among the students of all grades. Various environmental campaigns like tree plantation and ground levelling have been organized in which employees; teachers and students were encouraged to pledge and share their commitment towards making earth a healthier planet to live in. To have sustainable eye care facility establishment in the village, a Vision Centre has been set-up in a space provided by the local community. This center has equipment and technician for screening of patients and providing spectacles. Under its fourth CSR pillar Canon is looking forward to start a vocational training centre in the school to support sustainable living for the students and the village youth.

    Along with Karanjoti in Maharashtra, Canon India has three more adopted villages, including Ferozepur Namak in Haryana, Maharaja Katte in Bangalore and Sol Gohalia in Kolkata. In the coming year, Canon envisions to amplify its efforts aimed at a holistic development of its adopted villages.

    Canon India elevates K. Bhaskhar

    MUMBAI: Digital imaging company Canon India has elevated K. Bhaskhar to vice president – office imaging solution (OIS) division.

     

    In his new role, Bhaskhar will front head the entire gamut of sales and marketing for the OIS group with a special focus on growing the Canon projector business, which will be re-launched for the Indian customers. He will also be taking care of growing the print room services business, a part of CBS and will help his team aggressively tap the medium and large printing segments.

     

    With aggressive growth plans, he will lead the OIS division and work towards making Canon the industry leader in the various businesses that comprise the division. He will be reporting directly to Canon India president and CEO Kazutada Kobayashi.

     

    Bhaskhar has been associated with Canon for over 17 years, working at different profiles in the enterprise domain of business solutions.

    Canon India targets digitising Rs 3000 crore photo print market with DreamLabo 5000

    BENGALURU: Canon India (Canon) announced its entry into the Rs 3000 crore photo printing market in India, and more specifically the Rs 300 crore digital printing market with the introduction of the USD 500,000 (About Rs 3.2 crores) priced DreamLabo 5000 commercial inkjet printer equipment, with the intent of targeting the retail photo and album printing industry. This launch makes India the first country in South Asia where the DreamLabo 5000 machine is being installed says the company.

    Canon India President and CEO Kazutada Kobayashi, said, “Canon has always been at the forefront of bringing innovative products to customers. With this latest business entry, we are hoping to strengthen our ability to meet the printing needs of professional and wedding photographers. With the DreamLabo 5000, we clearly want to establish innovation leadership in India. For us at Canon India, this is not just a new machine, but the technology that can revitalise the entire industry and open up substantial new business opportunities. Canon is setting a new benchmark for the production printing of high quality photos with this launch.”

    Globally, DreamLabo merchandise has been positioned as premium item. The company is following a systematic approach with DreamLabo 5000. It started with a leading photolab in each region and then expanded the presence in that country or region. Its first customer for the DreamLabo 5000 in India is Bangalore-based 100 year old, 22 photo lab store chain G K Vale. G K Vale clocks revenues of about Rs 50 crore annually.

    GK Vale Managing director Anand Sukumar said to  www.indiantelevision.com, “DreamLabo 5000 will help our bottom line, and will not make a very major impact to our bottom line. We have received a good response and may even buy a second machine.”

    A campaign is being planned by both Canon India and G K Vale to attract commercial clients. Some of the ideas being mulled at Canon are including a small flyer or a booklet with each of the 20,000 digital SLRs’ that it sells monthly, in-store promotions at Canon Image Squares, among others. Industry sources reveal that Canon India is likely to spend around Rs 0.75 crore to Rs1 crore during the next calendar year towards above the line (ATL) and below the line (BTL) activities for promotion of its partners such as G K Vale. Canon India spends around Rs100 crore towards brand building, marketing, ATL and BTL activities. Dentsu handles the creative duties for Canon India.

    GK Vale spends about Rs 1 crore annually, but with the installation of the DreamLabo 5000, it will double its advertising spends on social media, print and outdoor and local radio.

    Commercial printing business contributes just about Rs 95 crores or 5 per cent to Canon India’s top line, revealed Canon India executive vice president Alok Bhardawaj. Canon expects revenue of just Rs15 crore during the next calendar year and is targeting revenue of Rs100 crore from this stream over a five year period.

    NEW DELHI: Canon India has launched a first-of-its kind Out-of-Home (OOH) initiative in India by setting up unique Neon Signs at International Airports in New Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai.

    This is the first such initiative by any Japanese company in India. Designed by advertising giant Dentsu India, the concept lies in the growing popularity of Neon Signs in the country that surround consumers with unique and ubiquitous visual impact.

    Expressing his views on the launch, Kazutada Kobayashi, President and CEO, Canon India, said, “Canon is a powerful brand, both in India and worldwide. Today, we have pioneered the ‘Out of Home Media’ initiative by launching the Canon Neon sign at specific locations in three major cities of India becoming the first Japanese Company to create such a major launch in India. This is part of our growth strategy for 2013 to create a powerful brand recall for our customers. This would be the first strategic step to create a positive image for the Brand as well as the Company. As part of our Vision and Mission, we want people to be proud of associating themselves with the Canon Brand; this initiative would pave the way for creating that association together with our state-of-the-art technology and quality service network.”
