The brand painted the city yellow as the sensational billboards launched its new campaign, “Born to Lead, Not Follow” to celebrate seven years of the launch of India’s highest-selling foundation stick* and the unstoppable spirit of women that SUGAR represents.     SUGAR Cosmetics FY23 revenue surges 90 per cent, EBITDA margin up by 16 per cent

    Mumbai: SUGAR Cosmetics, an omnichannel beauty company and a cult favorite among gen Z and millennial consumers, today announced a significant milestone in its financial journey with a remarkable 90 per cent growth in revenues in the recently concluded fiscal year. Having improved its EBITDA margin by as much as 16 per cent during the same period, the company is on track to hit profitability by the end of FY24, reaffirming its dedication to financial stability and long-term success.

    In FY23, the company posted a sharp rise in income totaling 428.4 crores, up from 223.8 crores in the previous year. Losses for the year were contained to FY22 levels which improved the overall EBITDA margins from -31.4 per cent in FY22 to -16.5 per cent in FY23 – a shift that firmly places the company on the path to break even in the current fiscal year.

    “We are excited to continue to grow into becoming a key player in India’s fast-growing beauty & personal care landscape – and the results of all the hard work that the team has put in are there for all to see. Having gained market share from some of the legacy brands in the last two years, we had charted a clear roadmap to sustainable growth, and this year’s jump in scale while improving our bottom line is a testimony to our discipline and commitment to becoming a large and profitable enterprise.     Dice Media releases final season of ‘What the Folks!’

    Mumbai: After a three-year long hiatus, Pocket Aces’ long-form storytelling channel Dice Media has released the fourth and final season of web show – “What The Folks!” (WTF4). The previous seasons of WTF have garnered a reach of over 80 million on YouTube, the platform said.

    Presented by toothsi and co-powered by Sugar Cosmetics, the fourth season will also see participation from complementing partners like Manyavar, Tru Hair and skinnsi.

    WTF4 focuses on the Sharma family that is seen hustling between two major life decisions of marriage and parenthood that its members are about to take. Elaborating the rationale behind the brand integrations, the official statement read, “With wedding bells in full swing, the invisible aligners by toothsi and makeup range by SUGAR Cosmetics seamlessly support the storyline. These new-age brands have taken to content integrations to establish long-term recall value among relevant audiences. Manyavar has already created a presence for itself the Indian wedding-wear segment, not just for the bride and groom but for every other family member too.”

    Peepli Live narrowly misses Amsterdam Fest award

    MUMBAI: The World Cinema Amsterdam Film Festival gave a warm reception to Anusha Rizvi’s Peepli Live. The film narrowly missed winning the Parool Audience Award of 7,500 euros.

    Peepli Live that tackles Indian farmers‘ suicides came third in the audience poll, only next to Asghar Farhadi‘s A Separation and Yasemin Samederali‘s Almanya.

    Alejandro Landes‘ Porfirio, a Colombia entry, won the World Cinema Amsterdam jury award.

    The festival had ‘Soul of India‘ special focus this year. The section had 18 Indian features, short and animation films.

    Popular Indian films included Kaushik Mukherjee‘s Gandu (the only Indian film in Competition), Rizvi‘s Peepli Live, Onir‘s I Am and
    Kiran Rao‘s Dhobi Ghat. The other Indian films included Prashant Bhargava‘s Patang (Kite), Aamir Bashir‘s Harud (Autumn) and Sidharth
    Srinivasan‘s Pairon Talle (Soul of Sand).

    The World Cinema Amsterdam Film Festival, which showcases independent films from Asia, Latin America and Africa, ran from 10 to 21 August.
