    Zee Cine Awards 2013 nominations announced

    MUMBAI: The Zee Cine Awards 2013 announced the nominations for the popular and technical category for the 13th Annual Zee Cine Awards. The channel has also revealed stars including Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Ayushman Khurana will be giving performances at this year‘s awards ceremony.

    Zee Cine Awards 2013 will be held in Mumbai on 6 January 6 at the Yash Raj Studios and the same will be telecast on Zee TV on the 20 January at 8 pm.

    To encourage more viewer participation, the channel has devised an innovative ‘Free Call’ service and has activated a centralized website www.zeecineawards.com where viewers can cast their votes free of cost. The voting started on 28 December 12 noon IST and closes on 4th January at 12 noon.

  • Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif together for the first time in an ad campaign

    NEW DELHI: ‘King of Bollywood’ Shah Rukh Khan and ‘Queen of Hearts’ Katrnia Kaif have come together for an ad campaign for the first time for beauty soap bar Lux.

    These Bollywood superstars will endorse two new sensuous variants Lux Peach and Cream and LuxStrawberry and Cream in their first ever endorsement together.

    In 2005, Khan came onto the brand and featured in a memorable TVC with Hema Malini, Sridevi, Juhi Chawla and Kareena Kapoor. Once again, Shan Rukh Khan will feature in a stunning Lux commercial with the gorgeous Katrina Kaif who will drive him ‘Bekaboo’.

    The magical fragrance of Lux that’s driving Khan ‘Bekaboo’ (helpless against his emotions) has been created by world renowned perfumer Didier Gaffet. Inspired by the Kenzo Flower and keeping in mind the sensory preferences of Indian women; this Master Perfumer has created a fragrance that will make Indian woman feel elegant and polished.

    Says Khan, “The fragrance of Lux reminds me of being happy and being in love.”

    Khan and Kaif’s sizzling chemistry can be seen radiating through the campaign, that’s been beautifully shot and directed by French director- Juan Delcan. The Sufi inspired music score has been composed by none other than world acclaimed Poet and Lyricist Gulzar and sung by the Voice of the Country Sonu Niigaam. Katrina has been styled by leading Bollywood fashion designer Rocky S.

    MUMBAI: Footwear manufacturer Relaxo has appointed Katrina Kaif as the brand ambassador for their brand – Flite.

    Relaxo Footwear executive director Gaurav Dua said, “Flite has carved out a niche for itself by becoming a brand symbolic to youth, comfort and elegance. And to carry this brand persona a step ahead, we could think of no one better than Katrina Kaif. Her vibrant and unconventional style is often imitated by girls across the country.     Katrina will be seen endorsing Flite footwear in a 30 second TVC created by Arms Communications.

    “The concept behind the new commercial is to beautifully and aesthetically showcase the colorful world of Katrina through Relaxo Flite. From the moment she steps into her favorite pair of Flite slippers, everything around her changes to match the color of her Flite, Dua added.

    With the jingle ‘Walk with me‘, the company aims to carry forward the light feel that Flite makes the person feel.

    MUMBAI: Going by the ending of the Salman Khan hit Ek Tha Tiger, where Salman and Katrina are on the run going from country-to-country, it was foreseen that the makers have kept room for the film‘s sequel.

    Now, turning assumptions into reality, it is being said that YRF has registered two titles Ek Hai Tiger and Ek Rahega Tiger for the sequel. If all goes well, the tiger saga will continue and so would its successful run at the box office.

    Besides Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif‘s good performance, the film is being appreciated for its technical values, DoP Aseem Mishra‘s artistic work, the production designers from multiple countries, the sound design and sync sound and last but not the least the background score by Julius Packham.

    Meanwhile, the film has been doing fantastic business and has reportedly garnered Rs 48.92 crore on its second day.

    MUMBAI: Shah Rukh Khan has completed his 20 year-long reign in the film industry. The actor, who has acted in over 70 films, made his debut in 1992 with Deewana.

    “Just realized 20 yrs have vanished in a glance. Been only moving cos thats important…more important perhaps than knowing where to…I‘m never today sometimes yesterday sometimes the next day already. I am a time challenger moving along the trail of my dreams seen eyes open,” wrote the 46-year-old Khan.

    In his career, Khan has given a number of hits and is fondly known as the King of Romance for having played the lovey-dovey guy ‘Raj‘ and ‘Rahul‘ in a number of romantic films.

    He is currently shooting for Yash Chopra‘s untitled directorial venture opposite Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.

  • Katrina Kaif is leading brand ambassador: Ormax Media

    Mumbai: Ormax Media, the media research and consulting firm, has conducted a recall study on celebrity-brand association. As per the study, Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif is the most powerful celebrity endorser, at least amongst five top celebrities.

    The study was conducted to measure the brand association of Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar with the various brands they endorse.

    Ormax Media plans to cover other celebrity endorsers such as Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra and Virat Kohli in the next wave of the celebrity association track.

    For the study, 13 brand-celebrity combinations crossed an association score of 15. The score is a measure of the strength of the association. Katrina Kaif takes three out of the top four slots, with Slice being a clear leader followed by Lux and Veet for the Bollywood actress. Salman Khan has only one brand- Wheel making the cut, though Ormax Media believes this is because Salman remains a very selective endorser and most of his endorsements started only recently.

    Kareena Kapoor has association score of 23 and 21 for Limca and Head & Shoulders respectively. She also scores 15+ for endorsing Boroplus. Dhoni has found place in the top 13 brand-celebrity association for Pepsi, Lays and Aircel while Tendulkar occupies two positions for Boost and Pepsi.

    Scorsese’s Xtrme City set to roll

    MUMBAI: Martin Scorsese and David Weisman’s cross-cultural crime thriller Xtrme City, starring Leonardo Dicaprio and Shah Rukh Khan, is to start rolling soon after Khan finishes with the YRF film that he is doing with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.

    The film is a tale about two men (Leonardo Dicaprio and Shah Rukh Khan ) from radically different worlds, with SRK essaying the role of an underworld gangster and Dicaprio a New York City cop.

    Producer David Weisman has been working on the project with screen writer and director Paul Schrader and Mushtaq Shiekh, known for his film Om Shanti Om. According to Weisman, Xtrme City will blend the cinematic traditions of Bollywood and Hollywood.

    Xtrme City is to be directed by screenwriter Paul Schrader who had earlier directed Taxi Driver and Raging Bull.

    MUMBAI: SK Industries has signed Katrina Kaif as the brand ambassador to endorse their newly launched chocolate product called ‘Choc On’.

    Kaif will soon be seen with Choc On in a pan India multimedia campaign. The campaign is estimated to have a marketing budget of Rs 200 million.

    S.K. Industries MD S. K Jain said, “We could not have founded a better choice than Katrina to endorse our product, since her star power brings perfect blend of beauty and poise to the brand – the irresistible. We are extremely happy to associate with her and we hope that the consumer will love our brand even more.”

    Passion Films has created a 30 second TVC that positions Choc On as the ultimate delight in chocolate with a tagline of ‘Khaas Mithaas’. The TVC will showcase Kaif adorning three different looks of a fairytale girl, Cinderella and Red Riding Hood.

    Passion Films producer Ricky Singh said, “The idea is to engulf the viewer into the ultimate temptation for chocolate. With Katrina as the brand ambassador, the thought is to showcase the magic of Choc On to make ‘Dreams meet Reality’. The effort is to present a small illustration of the experience that Choc On is irresistible.”

    Salman Khan to share screen space with Jackie Chan in Tamil film

    MUMBAI: In a casting coup of sorts, Tamil film producer Venu Ravichandran, also known as Aaskar (Oscar) Ravichandran, has roped in Salman Khan to share screen space with Jackie Chan in his ambitious film, Thalaivan Irukiran.

    Confirming the news Ravichandran said, “I have been discussing the film with Jackie Chan for the last few years. The script has a global theme with an Indian connection.”

    The film will be a sequel to Chan’s hit film Armour of God.

    Interestingly, Kamla Hassan will also wield the megaphone.It is said that Katrina Kaif has set her eyes on the South film industry and has signed up for the film.

    Ravichandran has made films like Dasavathaaram, Vaaranam Aayiram, Ananda Tandavam, Leelai and Lucky Jokers ( all Tamil) and has distributed Malayalam film Velayudham.
