    MUMBAI: Maxus, the country’s leading media investments firm today announced the promotion of Sanchayeeta Verma as Managing Partner, Maxus South India& South Asia. She joined Maxus in 2009 as head of the Bangalore office. Over the years she has successfully managed the Bangalore operations and established the Kerala set-up. She helped the team bring in some key clients such as Wipro, Tata Tea, RedBus.com, Google, Myntra.com, Manapuram, Kerala Tourism (for digital) into the Maxus fold. Sanchayeeta has been key architect in driving the entertainment & sports programming, digital and activation agenda for all Maxus clients in the Southern region. Under her stewardship, Maxus won the agency of the year title in Ad Club Bangalore awards for 4 years in a row.

    MUMBAI: The year has been a good one for Maxus and it ended it by bagging the media duties for Kotak Mahindra following a multi-agency pitch.

    Prior to the development, Starcom MediaVest handled the business of the financial services conglomerate.

    On the win, Maxus south Asia MD Kartik Sharma who will take over the responsibilities of Maxus south Asia from Ajit Verghese effective January 2014, said in a statement, “We are excited about working with one of India’s most established brands, with a legacy of over 20 years. 2013 has been a great year for Maxus and we are excited with yet another client in our roster.”

    The agency acquired several new businesses including Ruchi Soya, Tata Tea, Redbus and Musafir.com while retaining the L’Oreal business.

    MUMBAI: GroupM and Maxus has announced the new managing director for Maxus South Asia, Kartik Sharma. Sharma takes over the reins from current managing director Ajit Varghese wef January 2014, as Verghese moves into a new regional role as CEO Maxus Asia-Pacific.

    Kartik moves up from Managing Partner, Maxus and will report into GroupM South Asia CEO CVL Srinivas and Verghese. He will also now be a part of the GroupM South Asia EXCO.

    Commenting on Sharma’s Appointment, CVL Srinivas said, “Kartik has done a stellar job as managing partner, Maxus, working closely with Ajit in shaping the Maxus brand, creating client delight, winning several new businesses and helping Maxus dominate industry awards. I wish him the very best and also welcome him to the GroupM South Asia EXCO which will benefit immensely from his product knowledge and experience.”

    On handing over the charge, Verghese added, “Kartik is an excellent choice for Maxus going forward especially considering his product strengths and client focus. A long standing employee of GroupM, he has the in-depth knowledge and insight of what is needed to take Maxus to the next level. Kartik has been the key architect in growing the Maxus Mumbai office 3 fold in the last 6 years and building up a collaborative culture of working across offices and between various teams inside GroupM.”

    With over 18 years of experience under his belt, Sharma said on his appointment, “The last six years at Maxus has been very exciting.   • Good Morning India to launch two news channels

    MUMBAI: To the ever-growing list of companies entering the news broadcasting arena, add Good Morning India, publisher of Hindi current affairs magazine India News.

    Promoted by Kartik Sharma, son of former Union minister Venod Sharma, Good Morning India will be launching a Hindi language news channel as well as an English one.

    “We have got the license from the (information & broadcasting) ministry for both the channels. The Hindi news channel will be called Ab Tak while the English news channel is likely to be called ITV News,” a source close to the developments avers.

    “The Hindi news channel will launch first, by year-end, to be followed later by the English news channel,” the source adds.

    While refusing to divulge any details about the investments being made, the source confirms that the company is expanding in the print space as well, and will be launching an English weekly and a Hindi newspaper.
