    Karamjit Dua to head ZEE Entertainment’s ‘Content & Partnership’ vertical

    Mumbai, September 21, 2018: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL), a leading media & entertainment powerhouse, today announced the appointment of Mr. Karamjit Dua as the Principal Cluster Head for its revenue vertical ‘Content & Partnership’. Karamjit will also be heading the advertisement sales for premium cluster. With a consistent aim to create an ecosystem that focusses on delivering extraordinary results through unbounded consumer engagement and building strong client partnerships, the vertical has been introduced within the Advertising and Sales Division to help ZEEL drive business growth through innovative and consumer centric solutions.
    ‘Content & Partnership’ vertical will be responsible for creating solution-oriented media propositions to augment business performance by conceptualising and executing brand partnerships. This will further enable ZEEL in building synergies across content & revenue business by creating successful brand led content and Intellectual Properties across their Media platforms while capitalizing on their network strength.

    In his new role, Karamjit will be responsible for driving revenue for verticals such as Brand Solutions, Innovation Studio and for the premium cluster which comprises of Hindi HD, English cluster, and Living Foodz. Karamjit comes with well-endowed experience of 26 years in Product & Business Development within the Media & Entertainment industry.
    Karamjit will report to Mr. Ashish Sehgal, who heads the advertisement sales for ZEE’s Entertainment and News business.

    MUMBAI: In line with its ambition to expand and accelerate growth in India through new investment and leadership, Discovery Networks has appointed Vikram Tanna as Vice President, Head of Advertising Sales and Business Head of Regional Clusters, South Asia. The current product suite has 11 unique content channels in the factual and lifestyle genres. Tanna takes over from Karamjit Dua who moves into a new role as head of new business and mergers and acquisitions in line with Discovery’s focus on inorganic growth opportunities in both linear and channel business with immediate effect.

    Tanna will be based out of Mumbai and will report to Karan Bajaj, SVP and GM-South Asia, Discovery Networks Asia Pacific. Tanna will further strengthen the company’s efforts towards building engaged local audience franchises and re-instate its omni-channel platform play.

    An industry veteran, Tanna brings with him over two decades of experience spanning the broadcast, gaming and online industries. Tanna joins from Star India where was the Senior Vice President leading Product & Revenue strategy for three of the major channel clusters- Hindi Movies & Music and HSM Regional Channels (West Bengal & Maharashtra). He has grown in various roles at Star from heading revenue for Channel V, Star Digital & V Events. Prior to which, Tanna was the revenue lead for Zapak Digital Entertainment that operated the online gaming portal. Earlier in his career, he worked with MTV for two years and with Star Movies and Star World.

    Tanna has done MBA in marketing from Mumbai University and is a visiting faculty at management institutes in Mumbai.

    Discovery goes #Indiamyway in Maruti Suzuki

    MUMBAI: Discovery Channel in association with Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) organised an event in New Delhi to celebrate the culmination of its journey across 29 states. Cruising around in a Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, covering over 28,000 kilometers, the epic-journey entitled #Indiamyway was captured by Discovery cameras and was televised on the network.

    A showreel presenting the best-off moments of the journey was screened at the event. On this occasion, Discovery also released a DVD pack of the television series unveiled MSIL executive director – marketing and sales R S Kalsi, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific VP advertising sales (south Asia) Karamjit Dua, and Meraj Shah, actor and presenter of the series.

    The 13-part series which aired on Discovery, travelled across India in search of young Indians, their passion and their continual quest for the unusual, glamourous and adventurous side of life. The series was hosted by Paloma Monappa, an actor and avid traveler, and Shah, a travel writer, who went on a road trip for an exploration of a ‘New India’. They introduced viewers to a range of fun, eclectic characters ranging from celebrities, tribal fashionistas, women wrestlers, young scientists, tattoo artists, path breaking entrepreneurs and many others.

    Kalsi said, “It has been a matter of immense pride for the two pioneering brands – Maruti Suzuki and Discovery to collaborate and explore the new-age India.” Dua said, “Discovery offers captivating and incomparable blend of programmes that stimulate viewers’ mind. #Indiamyway has been our endeavor to showcase the immense talent, passion and changing aspirations of the millennials in the country.” Shah said, “I have been travelling for years, however, this road trip was unique and invigorating.”
