    JWT Delhi to continue handling creative duties for Sony Vaio

    MUMBAI: Sony India has mandated JWT Delhi, to continue as the creative partner of its laptop computers brand, Sony Vaio. The same was confirmed by JWT CEO Colvyn Harris to Indiantelevision.com.

    The consumer electronics company took the decision following a periodic review of its creative business.

    Lintas Media Group handles the media duties of Sony India.

    Param Saikia quits iris to join JWT Malaysia as CEO

    MUMBAI: Param Saikia is replacing Subhendu Mukherjee as CEO for JWT Malaysia and will be taking charge in January 2011.

    Saikia confirmed about his new career movement to Indiantelevision.com. In his new role, he will be partnering with Edwin Leong, Deputy Chairman/ ECD.

    This will be Saikia‘s second stint with JWT as he had started his career in the industry with JWT Delhi in 1987 as an associate account director.

    Mukherjee, on the other hand, is relocating to JWT Indonesia as strategic planning director.

    Earlier Saikia was working with iris Worldwide as CEO in India. He has also been on the executive committee of Grey, McCann, Euro RSCG and Publicis. He has dealt with clients such as Nestlé, Coca-Cola, HP, Intel, MasterCard, Perfetti, Bacardi GM, Gillette, and Sheraton.

    Euro RSCG bags creative mandate of Baskin-Robbins

    MUMBAI: Euro RSCG has won the creative duties of Ice-cream brand Baskin-Robbins. The duties were awarded after a multi-agency pitch called by the ice-cream brand about four moths ago.

    Said Euro RSCG director Mumbai Shavon Barua, “We have a great team and we are truly excited to work on a fun brand like Baskin Robbins. The work is already started and we are developing a host of categories”.

    Thought Blurb was the incumbent agency for the account since October 2007. Earlier, Baskin-Robbins‘ creative mandate was with JWT since 2005.

    Lowe Lintas wins creative duties of Matix Group

    MUMBAI: After a multi agency pitch that involved agencies like JWT, Ogilvy and Mega Vision, Lowe Lintas has won the creative duties of Matix Group‘s Matix Fertilisers & Chemicals.

    Linterland, the agency‘s specialist rural communication and marketing arm, has bagged the media duties and the rural marketing account. The account size pegged at Rs.50 million would be headed by Lowe Lintas Executive Vice President D.K. Guha.

    The Matix Group, a subsidiary of the Datamatics Group is building a path-breaking Greenfield fertilizer complex. This multi faceted project that will create direct and indirect employment as well as introduce farmers to world-class fertilizers and agro products will be a boon to rural sector in Eastern India.

    Lowe Lintas‘ clients include Unilever, Idea, Tata Tea, Bajaj Auto Ltd, ICICI Life Insurance, BPCL, Britannia, ET Now and BBC World News.

    MUMBAI: Bharti Airtel, the global telecommunications company, has unveiled its new logo and look for its operations in 19 countries in Asia and Africa.

    The unveiling of the new identity marks the achievement of 200 million customers by the company.
     
    The new face of Airtel, designed by its creative agency JWT, is youthful, international, inclusive and dynamic and the red colour continues to represent the dynamism of the company.

    With the new curved addition, Airtel intends to gain instant recognition across diverse international markets. 
     
    Bharti  Airtel chairman and managing director Sunil Bharti Mittal said, “Today, as we expand on the global stage, this new brand identity gives us the opportunity to present a single, powerful and unified face to our customers, stakeholders and partners around the world.     AR Rahman has also made a refreshed version of the original Airtel tune.

    Airtel will launch its 3G services in India by the end of 2010.

    MUMBAI: MindShare has announced that Pratibha ‘Pat’ Vinayak, currently national director – investments for Unilever at Mindshare, will move to Colombo as MindShare Sri Lanka managing director.

    MindShare North, East, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh MD Sundar Raman said, “Pat is one of the most respected media professionals in the industry and we are fortunate to have such a high calibre professional in Pat to lead the MindShare business in Sri Lanka.     Vinayak is a media professional with experience across agency, publishing and broadcasting businesses. She spent over a decade with Reader’s Digest managing research and marketing before joining JWT to handle media responsibilities on Unilever under the newly formed JWT Fulcrum where she spent over five years.

    She also spent time with Sony entertainment television and Carat before returning back MindShare Fulcrum to manage Unilever investments in 2004. A strong industry advocate, Pat has served on the technical committee of leading industry studies, states an official release.

    It has been said that over the years Pat and her team have been instrumental in bringing discontinuous trading practices in managing investments for demanding clients.

    Radio City inducts Rana Barua as south head

    MUMBAI: Radio City has made three top-level appointments to facilitate its growth and expansion plans, following the recent acquisition of 16 new FM broadcast licenses and the launch of its stations in Hyderabad, Chennai and Jaipur.

    Rana Barua has been appointed as head – south zone, Mohan Vizhakat as head – technology and IT and Anil Dhimri as head – projects / infrastructure at Radio City.
    As part of his new assignment, Barua will be responsible for three key markets – Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai.

    Barua is an experienced hand in the advertising industry with stints in agencies such as Rediffusion / Dentsu Y&R Mumbai, McCann – Erickson, Lowe, Ogilvy and JWT for over 10 years. Prior to joining Radio City, Barua held the position of VP and GM at Bates Enterprise, Mumbai.

    The private FM radio company has also appointed Vizhakat, who has over 19 years of experience in project management, IT infrastructure management, consultancy, IT-telecom integrated solutions, networking, information security across industry segments.

    Vizhakat has also received distinguished award and decoration from the president of India on the Republic Day 2001 for exemplary performance in project management during his tenure in the armed forces. A few of his previous assignments include Airtel Enterprise Solutions, Indecomm Global Services, Defence Research and Development Organization, informs an official release.

    On other other hand, as head – projects / infrastructure, Dimri comes in with more than 27 years of experience, and has handled several large office infrastructure projects with emphasis on cost saving in esteemed organisations like Tata Teleservices, Tata Cellular and Tata Unisys Limited to name a few.
