Joy Personal Care urges customers to habituate to ‘New Normal’

NEW DELHI: Joy, an Indian personal care brand by RSH Global Pvt Ltd, announced the launch of a new television commercial campaign for their ‘Pure and Safe’ personal hygiene product range. In light of recent events, hygiene and health are turning out to be a major concern for everybody. The TVC campaign will highlight the importance of self-care and hygiene during these times.

Joy is set to release three ad-films with three popular and loved female celebrities of the Bengali film industry. The actresses featured in the ad-films are: Swastika Mukherjee, Priyanka Sarkar and Madhumita Sarcar. The company partnered with the actors to make people aware that the brand Joy, has forayed into the hygiene category with a range of products.

In the context of the Covid2019 pandemic, the ad-film captures routine life activity amidst the lockdown with a focus on hygiene & personal care. By showcasing the actors using the new range of ‘Joy pure & safe’ hygiene products as part of their daily routines, the campaign emphasizes on the need to adopt hygiene products into the ‘New Normal’ lifestyle. The actors can be seen using the range of hygiene products for personal care as well as sanitising the various contact surfaces in their homes.

The voice-over penned by the famous poet Srijato Bandyopadhyay, talks about the importance of taking care of ourselves and remain confident to fight any circumstances. The voice over artist is an award winning elocutionist Bratati Bandyopadhyay. The TVCs will be aired on popular regional & news channels of Bengal throughout the day.

RSH Global Private limited  Chairman Sunil Agarwal said, “Joy Personal Care is not just limited to personal care products anymore and it is really important to understand the necessity of hygiene products as we adapt to the new normal. The novel coronavirus has changed the way we look at hygiene and sanitization, it has become an integral part of our lives. This habitual change in consumers is here to stay and therefore as a home-grown brand, we decided to come up with a TV campaign to promote our personal hygiene product range, ‘Pure & Safe’, which includes a germ protection hand wash, face wash, skin cream, hand cream and an instant germ kill hand sanitizer, germ kill spray & wipes. All these products are extremely effective in germ killing/protection and also ensure hydration and skin care, courtesy to the natural ingredients like tulsi, turmeric, tree tea, aloe vera, lemon, mint, peach, mandarin, mango and berries.”

RSH Global Private limited CMO Poulomi Roy said, “The notion is that regular personal care products would be of very little use to women, considering the fact that there will be few occasions where she will step out of the house & every time she does, the mask will be her best friend. Therefore, what’s the use of beauty which will remain covered all the time? But what made them assume that all this while women used to be beautiful self for external validation? The role of a woman amidst the pandemic has become more important than everwhere. She is responsible to take care of the health and wellbeing of her loved ones and in order to do so, the first and foremost step is to take care of her own self and remain confident to be able to fight the circumstances. And in this fight, we gave her the perfect range of products for the wellbeing of her health and skin, so that she can be her fearless self in the fight against the virus and protect herself and her family.”

#JustHireOne: Joy urges companies to hire at least one acid attack survivor

MUMBAI: #JustHireOne – an initiative to urge companies to hire at least one acid attack survivor was launched by Joy Personal Care, a beauty products brand that has recently come up with a special range of products for acid attack survivors.

To promote a job opportunity for acid attack survivors, the brand has roped Pragya Prasun Singh, an acid attack survivor from Bengaluru, who recited the first-hand experience of being rejected in several job interviews on the pretext of her disfigurement despite being a post-graduate in fashion management.

Pragya Prasun Singh in a video testimony said, “It was during this time when I decided that I will be a voice for acid attack survivors and will help them. I wanted to help them so that they can live their lives with dignity.”

With an aim to support the acid attack survivors, Singh chose to dedicate her life to help them get jobs and raise funds for the surgery. She runs an NGO ‘Atijeevan Foundation’ that helps rehabilitate the acid attack survivors. Singh was attacked in 2006 by a rejected lover, just 12 days after she got married.

RSH Global chairman Sunil Agarwal said, “Globally, India tops for acid attacks and the existing products for the hypersensitive skin of acid attack survivors are either rare, expensive or from derma category. Therefore, affordability played a major role in the product development – ‘Joy Sensitive’.”

“Our endeavour has always been to deliver quality products at an affordable price and this has been the genesis behind this new range meant for hyper-sensitive skin,” he added.

Meanwhile, RSH Global chief marketing officer Poulomi Roy said: “Being a mass brand and having in-house infrastructure, R&D, resources and logistics, the thought raised was, can we develop a special product for them at an affordable price point? This is how ‘Joy Sensitive’ was born with robust research and innovation.”

The employment drive was conceptualised by Grapes Digital, India’s leading independent digital agency, which also handles the digital duties for Joy Personal Care.

To practice what they preach, the beauty products brands will hire 3 acid attack survivors and will also urge CEO and HR heads to consider these survivors while hiring talent.

The brand also associated with Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone-led movie Chhapaak to reach a wider audience. The film is based on the life acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.

11 Films You Must Watch Before Tuning In to the Oscars

Summer is over, and you know what that means in Hollywood – time to dust off those statuettes and start lobbying. Film festival season is about to kick off in earnest, with Venice, Toronto and New York all taking place back-to-back over the next month, which means that we’ll soon have a clear(ish) picture of the 2016 Oscar race. Specifically, we’ll have a sense of which would-be frontrunners are shaping up to be this year’s Birdman and Whiplash, and which look more like this year’s Unbroken and Big Eyes. Let us take a look at all the contenders of 2016’s best film.

    Carol

Premiering at Cannes this year to rapturous praise and multiple standing ovations, Todd Haynes’s period romance is already one of the year’s most acclaimed releases. Based on Patricia Highsmith’s long-banned novel of the same name, Carol stars Cate Blanchett as a mysterious married woman who enchants Rooney Mara’s lonely young shop assistant.

    Steve Jobs

Two years on from the best-forgotten Ashton Kutcher biopic, the life of Steve Jobs has been adapted once again in a much more promising form. Danny Boyle directs Michael Fassbender in the role of Jobs, from a script written by Aaron Sorkin which – much like Sorkin’s Oscar-winning script for The Social Network – weaves together multiple timelines in its portrait of Jobs backstage at three iconic product launches.

    The Danish Girl

Eddie Redmayne may have won Best Actor for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking last year, but he’s making a strong run at round two with the role of transgender pioneer Lili Elbe, one of the first known recipients of gender reassignment surgery. Directed by Tom Hooper – no stranger to the Academy after The King’s Speech and Les Mis – the film also stars Alicia Vikander as Elbe’s wife, who plays a central role in her husband’s gradual self-discovery.

    Joy

If you felt like there was something missing at last year’s Oscars, it was probably because Jennifer Lawrence wasn’t nominated for a David O Russell movie, following her two-year hot streak with Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle. But she and O Russell are back in contention for 2016 with Joy, a biopic starring Lawrence as a struggling single mother who went on to invent the Miracle Mop. No, really.

    Macbeth

He may have been memorably, inexcusably snubbed for Shame a few years back, but Michael Fassbender’s formidable slate this year could put him in line for a double Best Actor nomination. Justin Kurzel’s visceral adaptation of Shakespeare’s Scottish Play stars Fassbender as the conflicted, ambitious anti-hero, and Marion Cotillard as the scheming wife steering him in his fateful plot to kill the King and take his throne.

    Suffragette

Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter and Meryl Streep lead the cast of this impressive period piece, which tracks the early years of the British women’s suffragette movement. Written by Abi Morgan, who has enjoyed prior Oscar success with The Iron Lady and Shame, this is a long overdue historical portrait that’s sure to be recognised.

    The Revenant

Coming off Birdman’s unexpected sweep in the major categories last year, director Alejandro González Iñárritu hasn’t been resting on his laurels. His upcoming drama stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a rugged fur-trapper in the 1820s Rocky Mountains, who’s left for dead by his companions after a bear attack. Having survived the mauling, he sets out to wreak vengeance on the friends who abandoned him (Tom Hardy, Will Poulter and Domhnall Gleeson). Could this finally be the year Leo breaks his Oscar curse?

    Bridge of Spies

Steven Spielberg’s latest historical picture follows an American lawyer (Tom Hanks) who is recruited by the CIA during the Cold War, to help them negotiate the release of a pilot imprisoned in the Soviet Union. Co-written by Joel and Ethan Coen, the film will premiere at this month’s New York Film Festival, but is already attracting a lot of early awards buzz.

    The Hateful Eight

Quentin Tarantino’s long-delayed Western follows a group of bounty hunters who are caught up in a treacherous plot, after being forced to take shelter together during a blizzard. There are several intriguing possibilities for comeback performances among the cast – the central plot sees Kurt Russell’s “The Hangman” escorting Jennifer Jason Leigh’s “The Prisoner” to face justice for a murder – and the leaked script drama has only heightened anticipation for the finished product.

    Trumbo

Having deservedly won all of the Emmys for his career-redefining performance as Breaking Bad’s Walter White, Bryan Cranston could now be in line for an Oscar nomination. He plays 1940s screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, whose career came to an abrupt and painful end after he – along with other scribes – was blacklisted as a communist. Previous years have borne out the idea that the Academy loves a Hollywood insider story, and the story of Trumbo’s fight against government officials and studio bosses alike could well strike a particular chord.

    Room

Abrahamson gets extra points for the degree of difficulty involved in filming an intimate drama, half of which takes place in a 10-by-10 room, with just two performers, relative newcomer Larson and kid actor Jacob Tremblay.

Other films: Brooklyn, The Walk, Freeheld, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Black Mass, Genius, The Martian, Inside Out

Why Jennifer Lawrence skipped the Golden Globes?

MUMBAI: Jennifer Lawrence was not present at the Golden Globes last night and that has created headlines all over. Lawrence and her American Hustle director, David O. Russell, are in Boston to film Joy, an upcoming flick that is set to go on floors in February.

Reportedly, Lawrence and Russell headed to Bricco in Boston’s North End last night, for an Italian feast with a few friends.

The restaurant’s entire second floor was booked by JLaw and her friends and they gorged on burrata, zucchini flowers, octopus and eggplant while sipping on Italian red Amarone. For her main course, Lawrence ate the Mediterranean branzino, a whole boneless, wood-fired white fish with seafood tomato panzanella and creamed artichokes.

Joy will reunite Lawrence and the director with Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook costar Bradley Cooper.
