    Havas appoints Joji Jacob as regional CCO for Southeast & North Asia

    Mumbai: As a creative partner and co-founder at BLKJ Havas Singapore, Joji Jacob has been appointed regional chief creative officer for Southeast Asia and North Asia.  

    Joji will take on comprehensive responsibility for steering the creative direction and ensuring seamless integration into client engagements across the region. Through his role as Chair of Havas’ APAC and member of the Global Creative Council, he will work closely with the council to drive creativity across local offices and explore innovative storytelling approaches while maintaining meaningful connections.  

    Over the past 20 years, Joji has contributed significantly to renowned agencies in India and Singapore. In addition to co-founding BLKJ in 2016 and joining the Havas family in 2021, BLKJ Havas boasts an impressive client portfolio that includes the likes of Great Eastern, the Economic Development Board of Singapore, and JLL.

    The former group executive creative director Joji at DDB has a remarkable track record in the advertising industry. During his nine-year tenure, the agency received numerous accolades and became one of the most awarded in the industry. Joji himself has been recognised as Singapore’s Most Influential creative director and Southeast Asia’s creative person of the Year, consecutively for two years. He has also served as a prestigious juror for global and regional awards shows such as Cannes, D&AD, LIA, One Show, and Spikes Asia. Known for his innovative thinking and ability to create iconic campaigns, Joji is revered for his commitment to excellence and passion for his craft.

    Joji Jacob to drive creative & effectiveness awards across DDB Asia

    MUMBAI: DDB Group Worldwide has appointed DDB Group Singapore group executive creative director Joji Jacob as head of DDB Asia’s Creative Council.

     

    In addition to his creative remit covering Singapore, Hong Kong, China and Korea, Jacob will also take care of India working closely with DDB Mudra chief creative officer Sonal Dabral.

     

    “DDB is one of the first advertising networks in the world to form a creative council. We are upbeat about our drive to do the best sort of work for our clients in Asia and the world, the sort of work that would win both Cannes Lions and Effies,” said DDB Worldwide chief creative officer Amir Kassaei.

     

    “We have seen a rise in creative work coming out of Asia in the last few years. It is an incredibly key region for our worldwide, and local clients. Joji is one of our most powerfully creative thinkers. He is an innovator and an inspiring leader. I know he will do great things in this role and win both respect, and accolades for the DDB network,” added Kassaei.

     

    Spearheading DDB Asia’s creative agenda, Jacob will re-launch Asia’s Creative Council with a focus on key clients and the agency.

     

    The DDB Asia Creative Council will approach a programme, Awards for Creativity and Effectiveness (ACE), with a three-pronged strategy. Firstly, ACE will nurture and boost award-winning creativity at international and local creative shows. Secondly, it will focus on creative effectiveness, to lead and showcase DDB Asia’s success for its clients. Finally, ACE will spearhead innovative work for key clients through DDB’s Fit for Excellence programme.

     

    “It is a privilege to assist Amir and David with DDB’s Creative Council in Asia.  It is my task now to help our offices in the region play as one for the benefit of our clients and our people. And of course, I look forward to working even more closely with Sonal Dabral, Tim Cheng, Clifford Ng and Jong-Sang Yoo,” said Jacob.

     

    The appointment takes immediate effect.

    MUMBAI: Kyoorius, in association with D&AD, has named the jury members for the 2015 Kyoorius Advertising & Digital Awards.

     

    The nine-member advertising jury has been culled from agencies such as Droga5, JWT, Ogilvy & Mather, SapientNitro, Publicis, DDB Group and Grey, led by Grey London chairman and chief creative officer Nils Leonard and includes:

    In partnership with D&AD, Kyoorius identifies the foremost creatives at the cutting edge of their respective fields from all over the world. The jury comprises international, regional and Indian members to ensure that work is judged at par with global best practices, while emphasizing the local context and mindset of Indian audiences.

     

    Kyoorius founder and CEO Rajesh Kejriwal said, “Our jury members represent the best of advertising and digital today. They raise the bar for the quality of work we expect to be entered and also bring experience judging international awards shows like D&AD.”

     

    “We want work to be judged on its merit, irrespective of language or cultural reference, thus a diverse jury is essential,” Kejriwal added.

     

    As per the Kyoorius and D&AD’s judging criteria, voting is always done in private, never by a show of hands. All jury members will gather from 29 April to 2 May 2015 in Mumbai to review, discuss and elect the best of the best over an intensive three-day session, which will be open to the public.
