JK Tyre shifts into top gear as Indian Racing Festival hits the North-East

MUMBAI: The sound of screeching tyres is about to echo through the hills as JK Tyre & Industries, India’s leading tyre manufacturer and motorsports trailblazer, flags off its “JK Tyre powered Indian Racing Festival, a carnival of Total Control” in the North-East. Scheduled from 12th to 22nd April, the adrenaline-fuelled tour will race across Kohima, Aizawl, Shillong, Guwahati, and Gangtok turning winding mountain roads into thrilling motorsport runways.

With more than four decades of racing legacy, JK Tyre is going full throttle to bring professional motorsport closer to the people. And in the North-East, a region that hums with cultural vibrancy and adventure, the fit couldn’t be more perfect.

Speaking about the upcoming tour, JK Tyre & Industries director for sales & marketing Srinivasu Allaphan said, “For JK Tyre, the North-East is not just a stronghold for our brand, but a region where our passion for adventure and performance truly resonates with the people. With this festival, we are deepening that engagement bringing adrenaline-driven experiences to the heart of the hills while also reinforcing our leadership in the market. We are especially grateful to the governments of the North-Eastern states for their unwavering support in helping us foster a thriving motorsport ecosystem in the region. The JK Tyre Powered Indian Racing Festival is a celebration of performance, innovation, and excitement values that define both our products and our long-term vision for this dynamic and culturally rich part of the country.”

Backed by the governments of the North-Eastern states, the tour aims to deepen JK Tyre’s emotional and commercial footprint in a region where the SUV segment and by extension, JK Tyre’s Levitas Ultra range rules the roads. The festival promises high-octane action with a thrilling lineup designed to get pulses racing. From International Formula 4 and Wolf cars roaring in straight from the Indian Racing Festival, to tyre-scorching drifting showcases in BMWs and Lexus machines, the adrenaline will be in full flow. Superbike stunt riders will defy gravity with jaw-dropping manoeuvres, while prodigious talents in Rotax Karting including nine-year-old speedsters will prove that age is no barrier to burning serious rubber on the track. This region isn’t new territory for JK Tyre. From its presence at Nagaland’s Hornbill Festival to the Orange Festival in Arunachal, the brand has long raced beyond the track nurturing grassroots talent, aligning with local culture, and steering community involvement.

And when the engines cool, the legacy still revs. JK Tyre’s influence has shaped the careers of motorsport giants like Narain Karthikeyan and Gaurav Gill, and its flagship JK Tyre National Racing Championship (JKNRC), now in its 28th year, remains the country’s most enduring racing event.

So, whether you’re a hardcore gearhead or a curious onlooker, this festival promises to be a pit stop like no other one where the scent of burning rubber blends with the mountain air, and the roar of engines harmonises with the rhythm of the hills.

  • Cheil India’s new campaign for JK Tyre celebrates the spirit that unites all Indians

Cheil India’s new campaign for JK Tyre celebrates the spirit that unites all Indians

Mumbai: Cheil India’s new TVC for JK Tyre is a showcase of the entire range of products from the brand and its commitment to cater to the varied tyre needs of Indian consumers. It is a communication that is anchored in an anthemic song sung by one of India’s top singers, Mohit Chauhan with lyrics penned down by JK Tyre CMO Amit Gujral.

JK Tyre is one of the largest tyre manufacturers in India, making tyres for a range of vehicles like premium passenger cars, SUVs, two-wheelers, farm vehicles, trucks, buses, etc.

“The agency presented several routes, but one insight resonated with the collective team very strongly. In this age where we are all becoming individual islands, it is the roads that keep us connected with each other. Running from the north most tip of India to the last bend down the south, roads are a force of connection across India. And thus was born the idea: India meets India,” said Cheil India chief growth officer Neeraj Bassi.

“Our insight about JK tyres enabling human connections was strong. So staying true to the brand’s ‘Desh ka tyre’ positioning, we decided to make a grand film which evokes a sense of pride in every Indian. Through our protagonist riding across the length and breadth of the country, we showcased the entire range of JK tyres rolling through diverse landscapes of India. On the way he has heart-warming interactions with people across various regions. These moments, along with the soulful track sung by Mohit Chauhan, drive the emotional connect of the film,” said Cheil India national creative director Amit Nandwani.

To make this narrative tug at the heart of every Indian, the brand roped in director Bharatbala, who is renowned for taking India to the world through his vision over the years and continues to do so even today and overlaid it with an anthemic track sung by one of India’s top singing talents, Mohit Chauhan.

  • JK Tyre ad aims to put an end to buyer’s indifferent attitude

MUMBAI: Dentsu One, the creative agency from Dentsu Aegis Network, has rolled out a new campaign for JK Tyre’s two wheeler tyre range, Blaze.

The campaign takes forward JK Tyre’s equity of ‘Total Control’ and further strengthens it by combining the communication with a strong consumer insight. The tagline, ‘Ab se tyres mein sirf JK is OK’ arrives from the above insight and re-assures the consumer that when it comes to tyres, JK Tyre’s Blaze is the right choice.

The film is based on real insights taken from the people of India and the ‘It’s OK yaar (friend)!’ attitude that is prevalent amongst these consumers when it comes to choosing a tyre for their bikes. While bikers ride through so many challenges on road – ranging from bad roads to potholes to sharp turns to slippery roads to accident prone areas – they do not care about the tyres that they ride on. The film highlights such challenges and enforces that ‘It’s not OK’ to have ignorant attitude towards their bike’s tyres as the safety of the individual and his family rests on the tyres being used. The film then introduces JK Tyre’s Blaze variant, which is racetrack tested with hybrid technology and ensures that one gets ‘Total Control’ on the road.

Commenting on the campaign, Titus Upputuru, National Creative Director, Dentsu One said, “Like the line in the film says, today young people fuss more about their hairstyle than the tyres for their two-wheelers. With the launch of two-wheeler tyres that provide total control, we wanted to wake up an entire generation to put their minds to the journey they make everyday. As consumers, we are okay with a lot of things. This campaign puts an end to this attitude.”

Vikram Malhotra, Marketing Director, JK Tyre & Industries said, “We have adopted a 360-degree promotion campaign for Blaze through our marketing and communication platforms. The tagline and message of our campaign ‘Ab se tyres mein sirf JK is OK’ is rooted in our firm commitment to total control and safety while driving on roads. We are going all out with our campaign and expect the premium range of tyres to cover 75%-80% of the domestic two-wheeler tyres replacement market demand.”

The amalgamation of the serious visuals with the satirical voiceover with a touch of dry humour is what makes the film unique. The 360 degree campaign including the TVC, outdoor, digital have been developed to extend the campaign ‘Aaj se tyres mein sirf JK is OK’.
