    Lego Angry Birds toys to take flight in 2016

    MUMBAI: Angry Birds maker Rovio Entertainment has teamed up with The Lego Group to create a collection of building sets related to its 2016 film.

     

    The two companies will develop a line of construction toys, which will be available in spring 2016 to coincide with the release of The Angry Birds Movie, a full-length feature film based on the popular gaming franchise.

     

    “The Lego brand has an unparalleled ability to connect with people through products that spark creativity and imagination. We’re really excited to build experiences together with this amazing best-in-class partner,” said Rovio CEO Pekka Rantala.

     

    “We are excited to bring Angry Birds to life in Lego form, given the popularity of the game and its characters with fans of all ages, which will only be amplified by the forthcoming film. We seek partnership with globally relevant properties that offer a unique and rewarding play experience to our fans, and our designers are having fun developing building sets that leverage the engaging play and deconstruction found in the Angry Birds game,” added The Lego Group licensing & entertainment vice president Jill Wilfert.

    Warner Bros lines up three Lego movies till 2018

    MUMBAI: Building a strong slate of animated tentpoles that extends well into 2018, Warner Bros. Pictures has announced the release dates of three much-anticipated Lego movies. 

     

    The next Lego film to open will be the as-yet-untitled Lego Batman feature, which will come to theatres earlier than planned, with the global launch starting in North America on 10 February, 2017.

     

    The second movie Ninjago, which had been slated for release in fall 2016; will now release on 22 September, 2017 in the North American market, with international dates to follow. The release has been pushed as the film is still under construction.

     

    The Lego Movie Sequel, the follow-up to The Lego Movie, will open one week earlier than originally slated, on 18 May, 2018 in North America.

     

    Warner Bros. Pictures president, domestic distribution Dan Fellman said, “We are very excited about dating our upcoming Lego animated features, which already have a worldwide fan following, built on the foundation of the first film. These three films already in the pipeline are just the beginning of a creative and diverse animation slate that will be delighting audiences for years to come.”

     

    Warner Bros.     Merlin Entertainments plans 4D film on ‘The Lego Movie’

    MUMBAI: Merlin Entertainments is partnering with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and The Lego Group to bring a new 4D animated film based on the popular characters of The Lego Movie, from Warner Bros. Pictures, Village Roadshow Pictures and Lego System A/S, to guests at LegoLand Parks and LegoLand Discovery Centers around the world later this year.

     

    The new 4D animated film will open exclusively at the six LegoLand Parks and 11 LegoLand Discovery Centers in North America, Asia and Europe.

     

    Using elements such as wind, water, smoke and special lighting effects, the larger-than-life experience brings the film’s main characters, Emmet and Wyldstyle, back together with their friends for another awesome adventure.
