    Colors-Nick and KidZania to blend entertainment with reality

    MUMBAI: In its endeavor to enrich consumer experiences and provide integrated entertainment, Viacom18 media and entertainment network has partnered with KidZania (Delhi).

    As a part of the partnership, KidZania Delhi will have a Nickelodeon and Colors-themed TV studio. The partnership with KidZania, is another step forward in Viacom18’s strategy of building ecosystems outside of the traditional television landscape, creating synergies across brands and platforms.

    KidZania is an interactive indoor theme park that empowers, inspires and educates kids through real-life role-play activities. By blending reality with entertainment, this partnership aims to provide an authentic and powerful developmental platform where kids can discover, explore and learn about the real-world.

    Viacom18 COO Raj Nayak said, “At Viacom18, we believe that creating experiences through multiple touchpoints goes a long way in fostering an engaged relationship with consumers. This partnership with KidZania brings a perfect opportunity for us to collaborate with like-minded partners and creating a platform for children to experience different aspects of the media and entertainment industry.”

    The Colors Studio will allow kids to actively interact and understand the story that is going to unfold for Colors show properties, be it India’s Got Talent, Rising Star, Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa or India Banega Manch. They can choose to be in front of the camera or behind it; enact the role of a celebrity host or get ready to dance with the stars and step into the shoes of their favorite judges, show characters.

    Viacom18 head – kids entertainment cluster Nina Elavia Jaipuria said, “Nickelodeon has always endeavored to engage with kids by providing them unique and immersive experiences that are unparalleled. This partnership is another step towards inspiring kids with an inimitable curated platform that facilitates learning, development as well as play. The Nickelodeon studio will now allow kids to be a part of their favorite nicktoons life thus building an everlasting bond with them.”

    Kids love being a part of the daily lives of their favorite characters and the Nickelodeon studio will provide kids an engaging platform to interact and be a part of the adventures of their favorite toons like Motu Patlu, Dora, Shiva, etc. The studio will open with a dubbing studio where kids will be able to enjoy a true to life simulated dubbing experience, by giving voice to their favorite Motu Patlu, Shiva to name a few.

    Going forward, the studio will continue to curate many such experience like learning how to create animation, immersing themselves in an episode of their favorite toons etc, allowing kids to truly feel inspired and experience the mystical world of their favourite nicktoons.

    KidZania India CEO Sanjeev Kumar said, “We are delighted to partner with Viacom18 for Colors and Nickelodeon studios, which will bring an exclusive experience for kids and we look forward to expanding this partnership in the future.”

    As part of building an ecosystem, KidZania will also have Voot Kids, the leading kids content destination from Viacom18’s OTT service. The platform will bring alive high decibel engagement throughout the year with an objective to engage and celebrate with kids & their parents on special occasions like Diwali, Christmas, summer holidays, etc.

    MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Television has always given some of best and memorable shows to Indian television. In a bid to grab eyeballs, Sony Entertainment Television has been gearing up to regale its audience with a fresh line up of the shows over the last few months. As of now channel has launch plans for a further mix that consists of a reality show and three soaps that cover romance, a thriller and a comedy show. The channel launched the much awaited show with Kapil Sharma – The Kapil Sharma Show a couple of weeks ago.

    Here’s what’s new on the Sony Entertainment Slate.

    After producing reality shows like Indian Idol, Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa and Khatro Ke Khiladi and Boogie Woogie, Sony Entertainment Television is all set to bring another reality show Super Dancer for Indian audiences. Produced by Frames Production, Super Dancer will be a kids dance reality show.

    Since February this year, the channel has been continuously bringing in fresh content. With the launch of two new shows – Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi and EK Duje Ke Vaste on 29 February, the channel has been curating an array of new shows.

    Adding to that array, Sony Entertainment Television will be launching two more new shows. One of the most famous names in television industry, Kavita Barjataya will be producing her first show with Sony – Ek Rishta Saajhedaari Ka, a love story. The leads are played by Kinshuk Vadiya of the Shakalaka Boom Boom fame and Shivya Pathania.  Vaidya returns to the small screen after a decade

    Another fiction show on Sony Entertainment Television will be Cinevistaas’ psychological thriller Behaad. Jennifer Winget and Kushal Tandon are playing the leads in the show. According to the sources the show will be a weekend property.

    Apart from this the channel is also exploring a new show in the comedy genre with Shashi Sumeet production’s Mere Bhai Ki Dulhaniya.

    Sony’s Power Couple to launch on December 12; five sponsors roped in

    MUMBAI:  After Indian Idol, Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa and Khatro Ke Khiladi, Sony Entertainment Television is all set bring another international format – Power Couple, to India. Hitting Indian television screens from December 12 onwards, Power Couple will be a one and half hour show and will be aired on Saturday and Sunday at the 8.30 pm time slot. Indiantelevision.com had reported earlier that SET would bring the Israeli reality show produced by Colosceum Entertainment to India.

     

    The channel has roped in Ponds as the presenting sponsor and Priyagold Snakker and Ching’s Secret – I love Desi Chinese as powered by sponsors.. Besides, Power Couple also has Iodex and Dettol as the co- sponsors for the show.

     

    The channel will also be airing strips of the show from Monday – Friday at 10 pm for 30 minutes, to run viewers through the journey of the contestants. Power Couple will be a 26 episodes series that will run for 13 weeks.

     

    Power Couple will be hosted by Bollywood couple Malaika Arora Khan and Arbaaz Khan. The show celebrates the essence of true love as it gauges how far couples will go to prove their undying affection for each other. Pratyusha Banerjee-Rahul Raj Singh, Naved Jaffrey-Sayeeda, Jesse Randhawan-Sandeep Soparkar, Apoorva Agnihotri-Shilpa Saklani, Aamir Ali-Sanjeeda Sheikh, Delnaz Irani-Percy Karkaria, Salil Ankola-Ria Banerjee, Shawar Ali-Marsela, Ashmit Patel-MehakChahal, and Rahul Dev-MugdhaGodse will among the participants.

     

    Speaking about the show, Multi Screen Media (MSM) CEO NP Singh said, “The good thing about Sony is whether we bring a show for the domestic market or for the international market, we are known for the bringing the best shows to the country. Sony has introduced some of the best reality to India like Indian Idol, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Khatro Ke Khiladi and Dus Ka Dum which become very popular. Power Couple, our next international offering, was originally produced by Israel-based Dori Media. The producers plan to launch the show in US and UK as well. One of Sony’s greatest strengths in programming is that we’ve led right from the front in non-fiction content and in fiction as well. We have recently launched season two of Parrvarish and initial response is good.”

     

     

    Talking to Indiantelevision.com about the promotional activities, SET SVP and head marketing Anup Vishwanathan, said, “We have planned a 360 degree campaign to promote Power Couple. It will be 8 week campaign for us including digital, radio, television and print outside and inside the network. We are also running a contest on social media where we are asking people to upload their and pictures and tell us about why they want to be the part of the show. We have already received 7000 entries for the same and shortlisted 400 couples.” SET has roped in Leo Burnett as the creative agency which worked with SET’s internal creative team for the show.

     

    Colosceum Entertainment CEO Lalit Sharma said, “Basically we have been doing all sorts of reality shows from Splitsvilla to Roadies to Masterchef. This is a reality show in the positive space and this is an answer to any negative warrism kind of show. It’s high time that one should get into the positive mode and that’s made us believe that this will work.”

     

    The production house has tweaked the format for its Indian audiences. Talking about the same, Sharma added, “The Israelis are more into showing skin, while Indian culture doesn’t allow that and that is one of the major changes we have made in this show. Besides, we have also changed the task format according to our needs.”

     

    Power Couple has been shot in Goa in beautiful villa named Power Couple Villa.  While Sharma did not mention figures, speaking about the production cost he said, “Power Couple is an expensive show. It’s cost is three times the Roadies cost.”
