    Emerging trends in handmade jewellery

Mumbai: In a time of mass production and quick change, handmade jewelry represents genuineness and individuality. The fashion industry is constantly changing, and there are many dominant trends that are transforming the jewelry market. This has brought about a new emphasis on sustainability, personalization as well as artisanal craftsmanship.

This year’s trends in hand-crafted jewelry include a wide variety of styles, ranging from personalized signet rings to vibrant beaded designs. Classic fashion items with a retro twist are returning — for instance, chokers or charm necklaces with updated modern features. Expressions through unique touches like zodiac signs and initials on pendants. Handmade jewelry continues to evolve so that there is always something suitable for any event or preference; these can range from the timelessness of traditional pearl necklaces to trendy clay earrings.

The main aspect of contemporary jewelry design is personalization and meaningfulness. In today’s world where everyone wants to be unique, people look for accessories that tell their own stories or reflect who they really are. As personalized items can be made according to specific requirements or needs, it is here that handcrafted pieces find their place. Each engraved initial or birthstone used in making these jewels therefore establishes a connection between the wearer and what he/she wears.

Additionally, sustainability has become an integral part of the jewelry industry too. More people have become conscious of environmental conservation issues hence more brands are adopting eco-friendly practices which attract customers’ attention. Hand-made ornaments fit perfectly into this narrative since most of them are produced out of recycled materials while others may use ethically sourced gemstones thereby supporting fair trade initiatives besides being environmentally friendly. Moreover, its timeless appeal coupled with durable quality makes it last longer than fast fashion items thereby reducing waste streams associated with such disposable products.

Another trend driving demand for handcrafted jewels is the versatile design options available with these creations. Unlike mass-produced trinkets that follow short-lived styles, handmade ones possess eternal beauty transcending any particular season. From simple chains to bold bangles, these flexible pieces can easily be dressed up or down thus enhancing sophistication levels in various outfits. From casual wear to formal attire all the way into evening gowns – giving them an elegant touch suitable for different occasions while at the same time infusing classiness into any look. Handcrafted jewels forever remain relevant standing the test of time within anyone’s wardrobe whether as everyday essentials or investment buys.

The digital landscape has played a central role in shaping the trajectory of handmade jewelry. Online business platforms and social media sites have become necessary for growing a brand and getting in touch with customers. Craftsmen of jewelry are able to display their creations to a worldwide audience through visually stimulating content and interactive narratives, thus making connections with potential clients. For example, Instagram and Pinterest allow artisans to show behind-the-scenes looks at their creative process which creates trust among buyers who appreciate authenticity.

Moreover, e-commerce platforms provide unmatched convenience as consumers can now shop for handmade jewelry from anywhere, they want without having to leave their homes. This ease of access has made it possible for independent artists to reach wider markets without setting up traditional brick-and-mortar stores.

Handcrafted jewelry represents true artistry paired with an authentic feel that speaks directly to what modern-day shoppers desire most out of their purchases; uniqueness & sincerity. In a world where everything seems mass-produced, one-off items hold special significance because they show appreciation for imperfections as well as individuality. Every piece tells its own story depending on how much detail was put into it or what materials were used – be it wirework so delicate you would think spiders made them or metal hammered by hand till it shines like gold.

To sum up, there’s been renewed interest in handcrafted ornaments. With more people wanting deeper relationships with brands through products purchased, personalized jewelry is here to stay!

On the sidelines of the Starburst launch in Mumbai Indiantelevision.com spoke to Mia by Tanishq business head Shyamala Ramanan on this collection, the thought process on executing it and her journey with the brand and much more….

    Edited Excerpts:

On the launch of the Starburst collection

We’ve been working on multiple collections, getting to know consumer preferences, and now we feel we have a good understanding of what our customers are looking for. One of our designers had a brilliant idea inspired by the night sky, and we’ve noticed a growing trend in spirituality that involves connecting with nature and the universe. We previously explored this in a collection called “Nature’s Finest,” which focused on plants, forests, and all things green. Building on this idea, I came across an interesting fact about gold being referred to as “the tears of the sun,” which got me thinking about the origins of gold and our connection to celestial events.

So, the Big Bang, discussions with our design team, and the upcoming Diwali and festive season inspired us to create a collection that encapsulates the mystique of the past and the promise of the future. We decided to call it “Starburst.” The design team was enthusiastic about working on this concept because we believe it’s quite unique in recent times. The challenge was to blend an international concept with our own cultural elements, such as “navratnas” and “nakshatras,” in a way that feels both familiar and distinct. As a result, we now have over 200 designs in this collection.

While brainstorming how to launch this special collection, we had an idea about how women can uplift and support each other through collaboration. One individual who stood out as a perfect fit for this was Rakul, and it seemed as if the stars aligned to make “Starburst” a significant topic of discussion in the fashion world.

On the TG for the brand Mia by Tanishq

As for our target audience, we initially focused on young women, but we’ve noticed that our appeal extends to various demographics. Mia’s customers now include men and older individuals who appreciate the brand’s versatility and affordability. Mia is an excellent choice for women who want to explore more jewellery options without breaking the bank. Our exchange policies are similar to those of Tanishq, making Mia a convenient choice for those who wish to wear and flaunt our jewellery. It’s ideal for travel and makes for fantastic gifts. When you gift Mia, you’re essentially complimenting someone by calling them a “Mia woman,” and it’s suitable for various life stages.

Recently, we’ve also seen men expressing themselves through jewellery, and we were pleasantly surprised when men began purchasing our products. It started with our Rakhi collection, which was initially requested by women for their convenience. We created silver pieces that could double as brooches or pendants, encouraging people to wear our jewellery regularly instead of locking it away. We’re against the idea of keeping jewellery in a locker. We designed these pieces to be unisex, acknowledging the growing global movement of gender fluidity. We’re engaging with Gen Z, so we’re striving to be more inclusive and accessible, appealing to people from all walks of life who want to express themselves freely.

On the marketing plans for this campaign

Our primary focus is on the digital realm because that’s where our customers primarily engage with us. We’ve embraced a predominantly digital approach. However, we’ll also implement specific booster campaigns, particularly during the gifting season for XY and Z. This means that we may make appearances in print, outdoors, and even on TV. In the case of TV, we’ve shifted our strategy to connected TV. Notably, we have an exciting collaboration in progress for the ICC World Cup where two female commentators are being styled by Mia.

We’re seizing the right opportunities at the right time, and we believe this approach will resonate with many men looking to gift their special women a piece of Mia.

On the idea of getting into sports in India as you’ve sponsored RCB and also the Indian Olympic team

As I mentioned earlier, our aim was to challenge the conventional notions of femininity. We also wanted to acknowledge the tremendous progress women were making in the world of sports, shattering stereotypes along the way. It was imperative for us to be a part of this movement. It was quite serendipitous that the Olympics were taking place at that time, and we decided to engage with the athletes, having some of them wear our jewellery.

What’s unique about our jewellery is that it’s non-intrusive, and we offer a range that is quite minimalist. Many Indian women feel incomplete without adorning themselves with jewellery, and we sought to provide them with elegant pieces that complement their stage of life. Additionally, our jewellery is versatile; it seamlessly transitions from the sports arena to the evening, making it perfect for athletes.

After the Olympics, we noticed the growing popularity of women’s cricket, especially among the younger generation. We couldn’t miss the opportunity to be a part of this movement. It’s all about empowering women, and we wholeheartedly embrace the idea.

On the most challenging brand among those you’ve led in the group

It’s not about challenges for me; it’s all about excitement. I find myself like a child, relishing the process of fitting puzzle pieces together. At other times, I see myself as an explorer, constantly seeking new paths and innovative approaches to what I do. This brings me immense joy, and even during my holidays, I find myself conceptualizing and creating.

Every brand I’ve been involved with has provided me with this opportunity. Whether it was introducing Tommy Hilfiger 20 years ago, crafting the brand identity for Favre Luba, Helios Retail, or designing Zoop watches for kids, I’ve embarked on various novel endeavours within the system. I even had the chance to launch Taneira, a venture that no one expected from the Tata group – sarees. It’s never been a challenge; it’s been an enjoyable journey. Each project comes with its own set of elements to figure out, akin to being on a treadmill or engaging in a mental chess game to position and execute ideas.

Putting all of this together has been a fulfilling experience, and I’m delighted that these ventures have stood the test of time.

On the growth of Mia YoY

As you mentioned, we are now entering our teenage years – Mia by Tanishq is in its 13th year. When I assumed leadership of the brand, it was generating around 100 crores in revenue, but we had other priorities to address at that time. We saw the opportunity to reignite Mia, and it’s been an incredible journey. As Ajoy pointed out, we’ve expanded our revenue from 100 crores to 750 crores in just three and a half to four years. This remarkable growth trajectory speaks for itself, and the timing couldn’t be better.

The impact of COVID-19 also played a role in this transformation. It made people realize the value of living life to the fullest and enjoying what they do. Mia offers a valuable accessory that women all over the world commonly use, and I believe this is an opportune moment for us.

  • Kanwalpreet Walia reveals that Titan’s Irth sees potential in organised styling

Kanwalpreet Walia reveals that Titan’s Irth sees potential in organised styling

Mumbai: With a robust presence across categories such as jewellery, eyewear, fragrances, accessories and Indian wear, Titan Company, which owns the famed watch brand under the same name, recently forayed into a new lifestyle category – handbags – with Irth.

The handbag market is home to various popular brands such as Lavie, Baggit, Peperone, Hidesign, Lino Perros, Da Milano, Ladida, Caprese, Esbeda, The House of Tara, Calvin Klein, Aldo, LVMH Moet Hennessy – Louis Vuitton, Guess etc.

Based on the company’s research, the women’s bag category is approximately Rs 4,500 crore, whereas the organised market size is about Rs 1,600 crore. The compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for the organised market is estimated to be around 13 per cent.

Close to 70 per cent of the organised women’s bag market in India is dominated by masstige brands catering to a price point of up to Rs 4,000; this is then followed by premium and luxury brands with a market share of about 30 per cent.

Priced economically between Rs 2,495 – Rs 5,995 to suit every pocket, Irth bags straddle the upper end of the masstige and premium segments.

Delving into Irth’s assortment, the brand has a product portfolio ranging from work bags, tall totes, shoulder bags, handhelds, slings, cross-body bags, clutches, and wallets. Delights and organisers are the categories unique to Irth.

Delights is a line of special bags. Many specific need-based bags today carry solutions but are not the most stylish. The Delights range is an evolving cluster starting with mom bags. Mom bags come with insulated milk bottle slots, changing mats, water repellent slots for soiled clothes, and can be hands-free with detachable straps to be hooked onto the stroller. There are many more little pockets to organise the little things of both the mom and the baby.

The detachable organisers cluster is here to make mobility styling organised. The launch pack comes in four different sizes, S, M, L and XL, based on the carrying needs.

The delight in Irth bags is the little features: padded shoulders, key holders, wire organisers, detachable sanitizer pouches, detachable pouches, etc., to keep your secret things secret and precious things safe.

The launch pack of Irth has a wide choice of 90 bags and four organisers in two colorways to choose from, each bag crafted with a deeper understanding of women’s journeys.

In a confab with Indiantelevision.com, Titan Company marketing head of fragrance and fashion accessories division Kanwalpreet Walia discusses the nuances of the brand, its future plans, and more.

    Excerpts:

On the reason for coining a brand name such as Irth and the significance behind it

Irth intends to create long, meaningful relationships with its consumers, making their purchase process exciting and special. Suggestive of the brand’s name, Irth symbolises the care and attention applied to the product design and exemplifies the sense of wonder and emotion inherent in the brand.

On the opportunities that are waiting to be tapped in this category, and which Irth looks at catering to

Every woman today carries a bag and owns multiples. However, for this huge potential market, the existing solutions today are largely geared toward vanity. Titan sees potential in organised styling as a space that is unoccupied by anyone. Typically, a woman’s fancy-looking bag is a big jumble inside. Our concept is to provide a practical solution in which a woman organises her world inside a stylish bag.

Given the large loyal base of women consumers that Titan caters to, Irth is yet another endeavour to enhance her every day. A thoughtfully designed women’s handbag brand with a deep understanding of the consumer.

On positioning Irth as a brand designed with a deeper understanding of women and to elevate their every day

Irth’s positioning is to offer a thoughtfully designed bag with great Titan quality at a very affordable price range of Rs 2,500–6,000. So the customer value proposition is to get international-like premium quality that is very well designed at a far lower ticket price.

On the kind of revenues the brand is aiming for in the initial 5 years

We want to be experts in the women’s bag market in India while optimising all aspects of the value chain, from design to manufacturing, the supply chain, etc.

For now, we are following the right processes and building the brand from scratch, but our vision is to reach a milestone of Rs 1000 crores with the ladies’ handbag portfolio of two brands, Fastrack and Irth.

On the plans for retail and expansion of the brand

Right now we are present in irth.in, Shoppers Stop and Tata Cliq. We will soon have many more marketplace partners and also open exclusive brand outlets (EBOs) by the end of March 2024.

Our channel mix will be offline and online, both substantially penetrated, as bags as a category are an impulse and joyful purchase for many women, and we want to be with them wherever they shop.

On the kind of target group the brand is aimed at

We are hoping a lot of consumers sitting at mass and economy levels would upgrade to this. From a consumer segment point of view, we want to be a part of women who are on an active journey, women following their passion and pursuing their journey and seeking a solution. We also have different organisers depending on different bags. We have a delight range for mothers, and we are identifying other special needs with great functions and great looks.

From a communication target group point of view, we are thinking about 23 years and above, urban women.

On the advertising, marketing activities, and media mix planned for the brand

The launch campaign celebrates this live-and-let-live ethos, using warm language and nuanced, open-ended communication to drive home the brand idea. We respect the intelligence of the audience we are speaking to, and our bags are thoughtfully designed and filled with possibilities. It will always be theirs to define.

With the tagline “Yours To Define,” the brand adds meaning and value to every woman’s journey without any stereotypes. Irth bags are meant for the women of today to elevate their everyday. Irth bags are focused on both design and functionality.

Irth’s brand film brings alive the “Yours To Define” brand world. The beautiful frames capture the premium Irth bags in the best way, showing the many possibilities any active woman has with Irth bags.

The brand will also be launching feature films that will highlight the many nuances of functionality built into each Irth bag in the most stylish manner.

The aim at the moment is to create awareness while bringing alive the space of organised styling in the women’s bag industry. All the advertising and marketing efforts will be aligned to achieve this.

On the trends noticed in the handbag category

Women of today are doing a lot more, and there are countless possibilities packed into their days, thereby increasing demand for practical bags that are high on ergonomics and offer organising possibilities paired with great looks. Irth bags provide for this need! Irth bags organise her every day and make her journey joyful.

  • Jewellery brands turn on the sparkle this festive season

Jewellery brands turn on the sparkle this festive season

Mumbai:  What’s the festive season without some beautiful lights, smiles, and jewellery? India is a country of festivals, and people look forward to the festival season. The joy of celebration and the shopping that entails brings a boost to the entire industry. Talking about the jewellery industry, it is widely believed that shopping for them during the festive season brings good luck and prosperity in one’s life. Riding on this belief, the jewellery industry witnesses a lot of sales. And since it’s the first Diwali after two years of low-key celebrations, trade veterans and leaders in the jewellery industry have well equipped themselves to cater to the ongoing demand. In this story, I explore the advertising and marketing strategies of jewellery brands this festive season, including trends, innovations, and more.

Understanding that this festive season is not similar to the ones in the previous two years, the consumer has been spending differently, in fact, lavishly, to be precise, this time around. Candere by Kalyan founder & CEO Rupesh Jain feels that the kind of consumer spending that he is noticing during the festive season this time is interesting.

“The affinity of people towards gold ornaments seems to be dropping and the inclination towards fine diamond jewellery can be evidently seen. One of the reasons attributed to this could be that people are making fine jewellery a part of their daily fashion. Being dainty and elegant in design, it never fails to glam up your everyday look,” he expressed.

Talking about the numbers, Jain states that their average order value has increased by 20 per cent and that their average order value ranges between Rs 25,000 and Rs 30,000.

On the other hand, Tanishq CEO Ajoy Chawla believes that the predominant sentiment is for gold during the festive period, and this year, too, it’s no different.

    Consumers’ spending patterns across brands

Jain observes that during this festive season, a lot of customers are buying jewellery for gifting purposes for their loved ones. “Our data suggests that over 50 per cent of Candere’s occasion-based purchases are intended towards festive gifting to family and friends. This could be a differentiating point between the customers we are serving this year and the customers we served in the last two years. Also, the kind of jewellery that is being purchased is fine diamond jewellery,” he elucidates.

“We are seeing a lot of traction for all our new collections with record sell-through rates, particularly Chozha for Tamil Nadu and Alekhya for the rest of the country,” says Tanishq’s Chawla, confirming the woman’s desire for new designs to adorn as she prepares to socialise once more this Diwali.

They also see continued interest in light weights, layering and colour that validates their belief that the new-age consumer values adornment over keeping jewellery in the locker—a secular trend now for the last two years, he discloses.

BlueStone head of marketing Harshna Pasari explains that their consumer profile has stayed stable over the past few years. The brand predominantly serves cosmopolitan couples between the ages of 25 and 45 years old. “These consumers, unlike previous generations, are looking for wardrobe jewellery, not locker jewellery. The creations they prefer are more modern and suited to multiple occasions rather than only grandiose celebrations,” she says.

“While they see jewellery as a mode of investment, it is a vital marker of style and individuality for them, driving them to wear a variety of jewellery more often for unique occasions like the workplace, casual events and more. They’re also open to experimenting with trends and new categories to make a statement—especially ones that fit into their lifestyles, like watch jewellery,” adds Pasari.

Advertising and marketing strategies to rake in the festive moolah

Jain believes that the festive season is always a good time for the jewellery industry. For Candere, it is no different. Even in the last two years, they were overwhelmed by the response of their customers. “Now, with life getting back to normal and everything opening up, people are really excited to step out and are engaging in offline shopping at their favourite shopping destinations during the festive season. For Candere, a growth of 25 per cent is predicted by our analysts’ team this year,” he points out.

Candere is going aggressive with its campaign this festive season. Jain says, “Now that we are an omnichannel brand, we have to make sure that our customers know what we have to offer. We are tapping many new channels and platforms to promote our phygital presence. To be present wherever our customers are, we have raised our advertising budget by 40–50 per cent. In an attempt to maximise the brand connect, the traction and customer engagement, we have been constantly innovating our marketing strategies.”

What is the advertising and sales mantra of brands to boost brand sales and increase consumer spending this festive season? And how are these tactics different from those that these brands applied during the festive season in the last two years?

“Despite the high base of a record-breaking festive season last year, Tanishq is anticipating and targeting strong growth, and we are not sparing any efforts in new launches, marketing, and promotions,” Chawla says.

From an advertising perspective, BlueStone’s mantra has been to break out of the festive clutter. Their recently launched TVC ‘Love Is In The Little Things’ is a fresh respite from the over-the-top festive visuals by celebrating the small moments of love and a very innovative category—watch jewellery.

“Over the past two years, the world has completely shut down and reopened. The period when consumers could not step out into the real world has led to a craving for it. Anticipating this, we’ve scaled up our omnichannel play.”

With 140+ stores across the country and services like ‘try at home,’ the brand is giving consumers the option to experience BlueStone across multiple channels, be it in-store, on their screens or on their couches. “With a range that encompasses gold, platinum, diamonds and gemstones, we ensure designs that suit every mood, moment and budget—especially with competitive festive offers on solitaires and making charges,” says Pasari.

Candere’s advertising and sales mantra revolves around the theme of its Diwali ad campaign. In this year’s campaign, Candere celebrates togetherness. Jain elaborates, “We want people to walk down the lanes of nostalgia and celebrate Diwali like the old times, where every member of the family comes together to celebrate the occasion.”

This year, the Kalyan brand’s Diwali campaign has been channelled through various media platforms to create a massive attraction among the buyers. “We have tapped several new modes, ranging from OTT (online video) to multiplex platforms. We are aiming to reach somewhere around 100 million people with this move,” says Jain.

    Bling trends this festive season

Discussing the trends that have been observed in the jewellery category this festive season, Jain clarifies that the ongoing trend shows people leaning more towards traditional essences and yet comes with a modern touch, making it more unique. “To cater to such demands, Candere has come up with many collections that are in the light-weight jewellery segment, which combine and feature both traditional and contemporary aspects, defining the new-era woman and jewellery. Our data shows there is a significant jump when it comes to preferring fine diamond lightweight jewellery over heavy or chunky ones,” he says.

BlueStone chief merchandising officer Vipin Sharma is of the view that this festive season, they’ve seen watch jewellery as a category trending for them. “The designs offer a new expression of ornamentation with a deep connection to the lifestyle of our consumers who are tech-savvy. We’ve also seen an uptick in consumers wanting to express themselves with innovative products like multi-threader earrings,” he says.

He continues, “There’s also been a steady rise in interest in the men’s category, especially in steel bracelets with gold accents. This alternative material, with a dash of gold, gives an elevated sense of style.”

Script jewellery, as a trend, has continued with consumers wanting to flaunt their or their loved ones’ initials or something significant to them. BlueStone offers script jewellery with various techniques and designs across various budgets. Timeless festive styles like necklaces, bangles, and other statement pieces continue to do well, says Sharma.

Chawla also expects that this festive season will see significant wedding purchases for the season to follow Diwali and has stocked up Tanishq stores with adequate and appropriate Rivaah merchandise to serve all communities. “Gold rates have moderated from their peak, which was about six-seven months ago, and are also quite stable, hence we are optimistic for this Dhanteras, besides the upcoming wedding season thereafter,” he elucidates.

Natural Diamond Council, too, in collaboration with the Style Collective, released the second edition of their Jewellery Trend Report 2022. The report explores the latest trends in the jewellery world which are going to reign in this festive season as well as the coming seasons, being absolute hits with the young consumer today. These trends range from mismatched fancy cut diamonds to vintage cuts such as rose cuts and briolettes, along with hoops with a twist.

“Encompassing everything from memorable statement pieces featuring mismatched diamonds to daily wear options like hoops with a twist, the trend report encapsulates the changing dynamic of today’s youth who use jewellery as a means of self-expression. Versatile diamonds complement both ethnic or modern ensembles, elevating every look. As natural diamonds never go out of style, they make for great heirlooms which can be cherished by each generation in their own way,” says Natural Diamond Council – India & Middle East managing director Richa Singh.

    Innovations witnessed this festive season

Jain expresses that at Candere, they are always looking out for innovations that can help them improve their customers’ experience with the brand. “Our website is equipped with many cutting-edge technologies like ‘try-on’ and ‘voice search’ that offer a store-like experience to customers from the comfort of their homes. But the differentiating point is our customers’ ability to customise their jewellery in just a single tap.”

“Right from choosing three metal colours, different qualities of gold and five different diamond qualities, our customization feature has everything that someone might need to get jewellery that resonates with them and reflects a lot about their personality,” he explains.

For BlueStone, watch jewellery remains one of the key innovations. It offers a subtle way to make a statement and a new way to flaunt ornaments. Offered in a range of fine metals, diamonds, gemstones and pearls, the versatile category suits festive and non-festive occasions.

Sharma elaborates, “Consumers are hunting for jewellery that tells a story beyond its design, inspired by a more profound idea. It gives the consumer a meaningful experience in addition to making a stylish statement. One of our festive collections, Ashta, is an excellent example of that, having been inspired by the eight manifestations of the goddess divine.”

This festive season sees an increased focus on personal style, he says, with young Indians preferring contemporary or Indo-Western fashion and giving prominence to unique styles like Y necklaces, chevron rings and more.

  • Titan’s jewellery business clocks 15% growth in festive season

Titan’s jewellery business clocks 15% growth in festive season

New Delhi: The recently concluded festive season fared well for Titan Co. The jewellery division of the company witnessed a mid-teens growth (around 15 per cent) for the 30 day festive stretch from Dussehra till Diwali over the corresponding period last year, with a decent recovery in studded jewellery sales.

The company includes brands like Tanishq, Mia, Zoya and Caratlane in its jewellery division business.

Tanishq has over 270 stores in the country and it clocked almost Rs 18,600 crore retails sales in the last year. On the other hand, Caratlane products are available both offline and online. It is available across 90 stores in multiple Indian cities.

Interestingly, the Titan company advertised its jewellery division to invite consumers to make purchases during Diwali. It came up with multiple ads for brand Tanishq during the festive season. However, on both the occasions, the creatives were attacked by netizens and the brand had to pull back the films.

The first ad focused on promoting communal harmony, where it showcased a Hindu girl married in a Muslim family getting ready for a baby shower ceremony. The idea was extremely simple as the film was a nod to the peaceful co-existence of the two communities.

The second ad featured four actors – Neena Gupta, Nimrat Kaur, Sayani Gupta and Alaya Furniturewala – talking about their Diwali plans. One of the protagonists spoke about not bursting firecrackers, leading to certain sections of social media taking offence at her personal opinion.

In both instances, trollers pointed out that the ads had hurt Hindu sentiments.

The ads were part of a campaign to promote Tanishq’s Ekatvam range of jewellery.

Over the years, Tanishq has emerged as the biggest advertiser in the jewellery division of Titan company followed by Caratlane. The brand works with multiple endorsers across geographies to reach out to its audiences and create an appeal for its products.

Titan company in an official statement further stated that the watches and wearables business also did quite well during the festive season, with recovery close to last year levels. Eyewear business has also witnessed good traction.
